Chapter Text
Simon was limp on the floor of the submarine, his limbs heavy like led, his mind blank, and his skin mutated. His eyes were open, but he wasn't looking at anything, he wasn't feeling anything, wasn't thinking of anything. That wasn't Simon in that submarine, no, he was somewhere else. He was a kid in the arms of his mother, her warmth comforting him and her voice lulling him to sleep. Taking away the pain of his flesh being ripped apart and replaced with something different, something worse, worse then the man that he already was. If that was even possible.
Something snapped him out of his dissociation, just barley bringing him back to the present moment. He felt something outside, the submarine being jolted around for a few seconds before it settled again. His hearing was so muffled that he only felt the faint vibrations of sounds. He hoped that whoever they were, they were nice, that they would bring him to reunite with his mother if it wasn't to much trouble. That's all he wanted, to be put out of his misery without pain.
After there wasn't much movement or vibrations he could hear he drifted back off to meet with him mother, maybe for good this time… but that's when he felt a faint light. He opened his eyes and turned them to the glass window at the front of the submarine. There was a dim light, Like it should be brighter but thick clouds where covering it from view.
Simon craned his neck a few inches to get a better look at it, just that movement sent painful shocks down his spin. He patiently watched at the light got brighter and brighter. His tired eyes started to fail him, vision slowly blurring as his eyelids shut.
It only felt like a second that his eyes where closed when he opened them again, now seeing shadows move around outside the SM-13, since whoever these people where were closer to the submarine this time, he was able to hear them just a little better. He heard chirping and singing, like instruments, were the people outside playing music? Where they even people? For all he know these could be aliens.
As Simon starts to lose himself, a voice cuts through his thoughts, a human voice. He looks up at the window one more time and see a dark silhouette of someone bathed in white light, they're peering into the window, one hand fixing their glasses while the other is above their eyes and pressed against the glass to get a better view inside. With how dark it is, and how much blood Simon is covered in they probably done even see him.
If he doesn't move soon they'll surely just throw him back into the ocean of hell. He tries to wave his arms but one feels like led while the other is completely numb, did he crack a bone it it or something? Yeah that's probably why it feels like it's not even there. So, with his arms out of the question he turns to his legs, but they're just as useless as his arms. As a last ditch effort he tries to scream, scream that hes here, that hes alive, that he doesn't want to be thrown away again. But, all that comes out is a pathetic, defeated…
"Hh…hel..p… p..pl…plea..sse"
The shadow outside moves, looking behind their shoulder and talking to someone. Was that not enough? Was he going to-
"-e—o? -ny—- —-re? I —-rd t—k—, h-ll-?"
Simon could barley make out what the person was saying, it helped that they were yelling but still, his mind was so foggy that it felt like walking through tar just trying to respond. He wanted to stay awake, he wanted to keep asking for help, but just talking took all of what was left of his energy. He kept his eyes glued to the window, watching that shadow talking to people behind them as everything slowly drifted back to darkness.
Something pulled back to consciousness, cold air hitting his skin and light shining through his eyelids. When he opened his eyes again, he saw a beautiful angel. It had to be. Blond hair, white wings moving about behind them, and lulling voice. That had to be the angels that Eden had talked of.
The ones who will take away all pain.
The ones who will give us nature.
The ones who will save the stars.
He watched as the angel flew down into the submarine and knelt before him, holding his wrist and giving life back to his veins with just the touch of their two fingers. He felt so light, so free finally knowing that he was safe now that he was in the arms of an angel. The angel cradled his face and he immediately melted into their warm touch. Looking into the angel's eyes, he saw bright blue eyes staring back at him.
He tried to speak, tried to thank the angel, but his strength was gone, and he felt his whole body go numb. The lights started to get bright and he tried to keep his eyes open for as long as possible, he never wanted to look at anything else other then the angel.
"..a… tha… uh" Simon managed to mutter out, he hoped the angel would be able to understand him. As the light shifted, he saw the angel's face in full; messy, short, blond hair. Bright, beautiful, blue eyes. Dirty blond stubble. Glasses sightly askew.
The angel looked so kind, mush kinder then anyone he's ever met. The lights started getting brighter, so bright that almost everything was white. The last thing he saw was those blue eyes.
Then… Everything went blank.
