Work Text:
After the fall of Irontomb, you all decided that you should host a victory feast on Amphoreus to celebrate together with all the Chrysos Heirs in the newly opened Eternal Page of Amphoreus. All of the Chrysos Heirs were immediately on board, especially Hysilens (as a shocker to literally no one). Well… everyone with one exception. Anaxa. He was focused on trying to make new discoveries with his new knowledge from beyond the sky and didn’t want anyone to distract him. But one of Hyacine or Phainon would surely convince him with time.
And time they would have. Many things would hold you up after your time on Amphoreus to stop you from having your celebratory feast. Of course, you wanted to make sure your girlfriend, Firefly, could come along for this special occasion. You were so excited for her to meet all your new friends. She would make such fast friends with so many of them. You were especially sure her and Castorice would be good friends given the time with both of them having surprisingly similar pasts.
But again, that would take time, because upon trying to contact Firefly after returning from Amphoreus, she was radio silent. Which, of course, wasn’t too out of the ordinary cause many of her missions that would cause her to go days at a time without being able to respond. But something felt off. And after your brief encounter with The Dahlia and the many forgotten memories that would return, you knew exactly why things felt off. Thankfully, after some surprisingly calming words from Silver Wolf of all people ensuring you she was safe, you were able to rest a little easier.
Sure enough, one agonizingly long week later, she was finally well enough to talk to you again. Another week after that, she was able to get up and out of her hibernation cot for short periods of time. Finally, about a month after your initial encounter with The Dahlia, she would finally be well enough to make a trip with you to Amphoreus and you could finally stop delaying this victory feast.
Or… well… you could… if it wasn’t for a certain someone (March 7th) getting sick on the day you were supposed to hold the feast. Thankfully, everyone was fine with pushing back the date by a couple days. Especially Hyacine and Phainon who were still trying to convince Prof Nax to actually attend the event, as he was still pushing off their requests to focus on his alchemical research.
Finally, a few days later everything would align and you would finally be able to hold your victory feast. There was still one more problem though… Firefly couldn’t enter Amphoreus because she hadn’t ever been whitelisted. Thankfully, March had a 24/7 speed dial on one of the few people that could give her access. After a lot of begging and March’s best puppy dog eyes, Evernight was convinced and graciously allowed your girlfriend access to Amphoreus (or whatever she called graciously).
Arriving back in Amphoreus brought back so many memories flashing before your eyes. Thankfully, unlike your first time entering Amphoreus where you quite literally died upon arrival, this time was much smoother. You arrived right at the entrance to Okhema, the same spot you first arrived at the city with Phainon and Tribbie.
And sure enough, the first one to greet you is the same Demigod of Passage, though this time it was Trianne, rather than Tribbie.
“Hey, Little Gray! Agy told us you were on your way so we wanted to be the first to come greet you!” Trianne pauses for a moment, looking at the girl next to you holding your hand. “And you must be Littler Gray!”
“Heh, Fifi, she just called you short,” you squeeze her hand as you speak and turn to see her face becoming bright red.
Before she can even respond though, Trianne starts talking again. “Agy said you two were really close friends like Snowy and De”
“Yeah, that’s right,” Firefly replies, stunned by the innocence of the demigod in front of her.
“We don’t cause nearly as much trouble as those two do when we’re together though.”
Firefly turns to you, even more shocked now than before. “Wait, just how much trouble do those two cause for us to not be on the same level?”
“You should’ve seen the time Snowy and De had a super hot bath competition that had the entire bath house have to be emptied till it could be dealt with. Agy was really mad at them for a while after that."
“Anyways, we wanted to say hi and Agy wanted us to tell you there’s three hours till the feast. So there’s time to see the city before it.”
“Alright, thanks Trianne!” and with that, Trianne starts running back the way they came from.
Firefly then turns to you, with way too many questions to ask, and not enough answers for you to give. “So… how old is that child who came to greet us?”
“Oh probably only a few hundred years old, maybe even more than that. I stopped keeping track at some point.”
“Oh Miss Protector of Humanity can’t even bother to remember the age of every person.”
“Well actually, she’s a demigod, not a person.”
Firefly lets out a little grmph, and you pull her in for a quick hug before continuing on to take a tour of the city.
The first stop on your tour of the city is the Dromas stalls. And sure enough, the person you were hoping to see most happens to be right where you expected her to be. Upon hearing footsteps approaching her she turns around and her face lights up the moment she sees you.
“Miss Stelle, you’re here! It’s been a while since I last saw you,” She then turns to face towards your girlfriend standing beside you, “And you must be Miss Firefly. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. Stelle was talking about you constantly during her first–”
You cut her off, “Hey hey hey now, we don’t really need to talk about all that.”
“No no no, keep going. I want to hear more,” your girlfriend is already too intrigued for you to stop her.
So Castorice continues, “What I’m trying to say, Miss Firefly, is that Miss Stelle cares about you a lot, and she was really missing you during her time on Amphoreus.”
You try to defend yourself, “It’s not my fault one of the first things I see when entering Amphoreus is a vision of Firefly from the past that only gives me more questions than answers.”
Firefly smiles in response to that, “Just shows how much you’re thinking about me that I’m always on your mind,” and she boops you on the nose.
“Miss Firefly, do you want to try feeding the Dromases? I promise they’re gentle. Miss Stelle’s done it before. She can vouch.” Castorice lets out a wary hand to her as an invitation to join her in feeding the Dromases. Despite the fact she can now touch people freely, her hundreds of years of bearing her curse are still engrained deeply in her mind. Making her cautious even now.
Firefly takes her hand and they go over to feed the Dromases. Firefly, being the lover of animals she is, was eager to give it a try. Castorice took her over to one of the buckets of red soil and gave her some to give to the dromases.
“I bet Stelle tried to eat this the first time you had her feed these,” Castorice burst out into one of her soft quiet chuckles in response to Firefly saying that and your face started turning all red. That was enough to tell Firefly she was right on the money.
“She even tried to keep a straight face after eating it,” Castorice replies.
Firefly chuckled a bit in response, “So, my Star. How did you enjoy the red soil?”
“Admittedly, it didn’t taste that great. I don’t know how these big guys enjoy the stuff,” that gets another chuckle from the other two girls.
Firefly’s the one that responds, “Maybe because they aren’t people you doofus.” She boops you on the nose again as she says this before turning back to the Dromases behind her. As she holds out her hand, the Dromas nearest to her bends down its long neck to reach down and eat some out of her hand. As it eats, Firefly uses her free hand to lightly press the Dromas. The Dromas let out a happy grumph in response to Firefly’s actions.
However, there was one thing missing from your stop at the Dromas Workshop so far…
“Grumph (Mama!),” and there it was. Stelle Jr. Your pride and joy. Upon seeing you the little Dromas rushed across the workshop to get close to you.
Firefly seemed a bit shocked by the ordeal, “Wait, the dromases can talk?”
“What do you mean, of course the Dromases can’t talk?” Castorice seems even more confused by Firefly’s reply, so you explain to the best of your ability.
“Well, ever since this little one hatched, I’ve been able to understand what it’s saying. I guess cause she’s my girlfriend or something she can also understand it.”
“Grumph Grumph (Mama, what’s a girlfriend?)” Stelle Jr. asks you.
“Firefly being my girlfriend means she’s also your momma,” you reply.
Stelle Jr. seems a little confused at first but very quickly it just accepts it and turns to Firefly, “Grumph (Hi other mama!)”
Firefly seems a bit excited by this whole ordeal, “Wait. Stelle. You have a child here on Amphoreus and you didn’t tell me?” You’re surprised Firefly isn’t even remotely confused about the fact that this Dromas is calling you its mama or anything. Considering it’s an entirely different species from you.
“Well, Naxie left me with a Dromas egg one day while he went off to do other things and suddenly it hatched while I was watching over it. So I guess I’m its mama now.”
"Grump (Yep, she's my mama!)," Stelle Jr. confirms.
Castorice seems to have not heard this story before, “Wait, so that’s how you ended up taking care of Stelle Jr.?”
“Yep.”
“Doesn’t shock me at all you named it Stelle Jr. You don’t seem very creative when it comes to things like that,” Firefly chuckles as she speaks. She’s already playing with her new adopted child she didn’t even know she had. And she seems to be really enjoying it too. Eventually your time in the Dromas Workshop comes to an end and you have to leave Stelle Jr. behind.
Castorice decides to come with you since she’s going to the same place as you later anyways. After walking for a bit around the Plaza, you ask Castorice a question, “How’s life treating you now that you don’t have to worry about killing anything you touch?”
“It’s been really nice. I can actually pet the dromases and little chimeras and baby seals and play with them. I don’t have to settle for just holding stuffed animals of them anymore, I can actually hold the real things, and it feels so nice.”
Firefly seems a bit amused by this outcome, “Wait Stelle, so you’re telling me the girl that it was so important that only you could embrace to the point where it got written into prophecy can now touch other living beings without killing them.”
“Fifi, are you still just mad I showed affection for another girl besides you,” the playful tone in your voice gives the game away, even to the normally oblivious Castorice. Regardless, you still manage to make Firefly blush and turn around her attempt at embarrassing you.
After recovering from her blushing fit, Firefly asks Castorice a much more serious question, “So how does it feel to have this curse that’s been lingering over you your whole life finally lifted?”
“It’s a very… pleasurable feeling,” she responds. “My whole life I’ve had to be super wary around everyone I’ve ever considered a friend. One wrong step and I could end up accidentally sending them to an early grave. I’m glad that isn’t anything I need to have hanging over me anymore.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
Castorice seems a bit puzzled by this response, “Do you have something weighing on you as well?”
Firefly sighed, as if she had anticipated this question, “Well you see, I was created as a super soldier in order to help a dying empire fight off its mortal enemy. As a contingency plan against insurgency, they intentionally shortened the lifespan of all their warriors, so they couldn’t fall into the wrong hands. Now, the only way I can survive is spending most of my life living in my mech, leaving me unable to live the life of a normal girl I truly wish to live.”
“Wait, but if you need your mech to survive, then how are you here in the flesh right now?” Castorice’s face showed immense worry after hearing Firefly’s story.
“Thankfully, I can still spend some time outside my mech to do a few things. I spend most of my time that I can spend outside my mech together with Stelle. Cause well I love her and I want to be with her as myself.”
She pecks a little kiss on your cheek as she finishes speaking, and you give her one in return, “I love you too Fifi.”
A fourth voice speaks up that doesn’t belong to either of the three of you, “Yo chill on the PDA you two. We’re right in the middle of Okhema, you know. Not necessarily a private space.”
You immediately recognize the voice and turn around to see the most infamous thief in all of Okhema, “Cipher, you do know Mydei and Phainon do far worse on a nearly daily basis here, right.”
“Yeah, and do you really want to be in the same conversation as those two?” She does kinda have a point. That isn’t really the duo you want to be in the same conversation as. Though if there’s one thing you can agree with the two of them on it's that you really do love showing affection for your partner.
Firefly is just stood there looking back and forth between you and Cipher, “I swear, that’s the second time those two have been brought up in a negative notion today. Are they really that bad?”
“Relax, young lady. They’re our friends. Some light hearted teasing is expected.” Cipher replies, “and they're the two most stupid and reckless lovers in all of Okhema so they deserve it.”
Castorice isn’t nearly so flagrant with her word choice, “Those two certainly are the least mature of the Chrysos heirs. Lady Stelle might be the least mature in a lot of groups but those two are… well they’re something.”
You immediately flip your head in Castorice’s direction to see her trying her best to hold in a laugh, “What’s that supposed to mean!” You’re happy to see that since the lifting of her curse she’s seemed to loosen up slightly, especially with friends.
“I’m shocked that there’s not just one, but two people here that are more reckless than my favorite dumpster diver,” she pulls you in for a one arm hug as she says it with the most beautiful smile on her face.
Castorice's eyes narrow as she speaks, “Wait, so you’re telling me that Stelle, the person who saved Amphoreus… likes to search through trash cans in her free time?”
Cipher speaks up in your defence, “You never know what you might find in a trash can Princess Homebody. They had a saying back in Dolos that one person’s trash is another person’s treasure.” Finally, someone that understands the true beauty of dumpster diving. Only took traveling to five worlds to finally find another enthusiast (That other guy does NOT count and will NOT be acknowledged).
The four of you make your way over to Marmoreal Palace, since that’s where the feast will be taking place and it’s starting to get close to the starting time. Okhema is still just as beautiful of a city to walk through as ever. The feeling is even more magical as you’re walking hand in hand with your girlfriend and chatting with two close friends, both of whom seem to be getting along with her really well as well.
As you reach Marmoreal Palace, someone seems to notice you all coming. It’s time for Firefly to finally meet one of the two legends she’s heard so much about up until now, “What a lively group we have here, I could hear you coming from far off.”
“We’re not an invading army Little Prince. We don’t need to try and keep our presence unknown,” Cipher snaps back.
You do however notice that one half of your famed duo is missing currently. Castorice seems to have noticed it too, “Lord Mydei, why is Lord Phainon not with you?”
“Our Deliverer had to go down to talk to the Professor to try and convince him to come one last time. He should be on his way back from the Grove now, likely alone.”
“You don’t seem very confident that Naxy is coming,” you reply.
He sighs, “You know that man. He’s as stubborn as ever. Nothing could drag him away from his research.”
Castorice, being the kind soul she is, speaks up in his defence, “Respectfully, Lord Mydei, I believe that while Professor Anaxa is rather stubborn, he wouldn’t miss out on an occasion like this.”
“You wanna make a bet on that?” Cipher seems all too eager to try to get every last penny out of Castorice. Seems she agrees with the rest of you that Naxagoras won’t be making an appearance at the feast.
“Lady Cipher, I’ve learned over the years not to make bets with you. You always have a trick under your sleeve,” she replies.
Cipher seems a bit displeased at this outcome, “Am I that predictable?”
Firefly tugs at your shoulder slightly and pulls you in to whisper, “I know you guys were talking about how immature this guy is earlier, but he seems very respectful right now.”
“It’s not that he’s super immature on his own. Let him get a whiff of Phainon’s scent though, and he’s a whole different person.” Firefly chuckles slightly at your comment, and admittedly that was the goal of wording it that way.
She doesn’t seem to be the only one who heard it though, as Mydei replies, “Trailblazer, you know you’re not very good at keeping quiet, right.”
He had taken the bait, and a gleeful smile takes over your face, “Would you like to dispute any of what I just said then?”
He clears his throat before speaking, “The only thing I would like to make clear is that the Deliverer is the one entirely at fault. It’s only because of his antics that I find myself falling out of line.”
Cipher doesn’t seem very persuaded by this, but she keeps her response short, “Sure thing Little Prince,” with a wink at the end.
The party, now grown to five strong, continues on your way to the grand banquet hall where the feast would take place. Banter flowing freely between the group of you as you go. Upon reaching the banquet hall. Everyone splits off from each other, going around and mixing in with the various groups already waiting.
You and Firefly make your way over to a certain friend of yours with dragon horns and two pink haired ladies on the other side of the hall. You speak up first before any of the three of them notice you, “So how long have the three of you been waiting around here?”
You see March jump as she hears you speak. Sounds like your sudden appearance gave her a little fright. “Jeez Stelle! You could give a bit of a warning next time!”
“What am I supposed to do, play a massive alarm whenever I’m approaching you?”
March is still putting on her faux anger, but the other two seem unfazed. Though they do seem amused by March’s reaction. Hyacine tries to calm down March a bit, “Relax Sevie, Grayie just showed up while you were too engrossed in our conversation. That’s not anything to be blaming her for.”
“What were you guys talking about anyways?” Firefly asks.
“We were making bets on whether Phainon could convince Anaxa to join us for the feast.” Dan Heng replies in the same monotone voice as always despite seeming intrigued by the idea.
Immediately you turn to scout for where Cipher had found herself around the room. You spot her talking to Castorice and Aglaea and shout over in her direction, “Hey Cipher, come here.”
Before you even finish speaking, Cipher has already closed all the distance between you, now standing before your group, “What is it Gray Mystery? Must’ve been important.”
“These three were betting on whether Phainon would convince Anaxy to come here for the feast or not.”
“And what’s the verdict?”
Dan Heng clears his throat, “Hyacine and I are in agreement that we don’t think the professor will come, however March remains convinced that he will be.”
“I mean, how could he miss such an important event like this! He won this victory with the rest of us,” March seems kinda upset with the idea that he wouldn’t come. You do agree with her that it would feel wrong to see him not be here with the rest of you, but alas you don’t think anyone can convince the Naxster but himself.
Cipher just shrugs, “So March, how much are you willing to bet on him arriving for the feast?”
“Think carefully before you speak March, I wouldn’t trust her to have pure intentions,” Dan Heng tries to stop her from making a stupid deal, but March is dead set on this.
“I’ll bet one, no two of my big Pom Pom stuffies,” she responds.
Cipher seems quite amused by this wager, “Two treasures from beyond the sky, well my wager must be equally as appealing. I’ll wager one of the Goldweavers finest dresses in my collection to offer something of equal worth.”
And so, the wagers were set, and the bet was on. Everyone knew by now that March was fighting a losing battle, even Firefly who had just met these people a couple hours prior. After making the bet, Cipher disappears from back to Castorice and Aglaea just as quickly as she had appeared. You speak to March bluntly, “Well March, I don’t think you have very good odds on this one.”
“Well if none of the rest of you are going to believe, then I have to. Otherwise there’s no hope,” if there’s one thing that’s always been true about March, it’s that she’s always seen the best in people.
The words and laughs continue to flow for a while as more and more plates of food begin to pile on the grand table in the center of the hall. You notice 16 seats around the table, one for all of you, even Professor Anagram if he decides to show up.
Shortly before the feast begins, you see Phainon show up, and sure enough there’s no professor with him. He seems kinda defeated since he didn’t manage to convince him to come, but his expression quickly changes to a much happier one once he spots Mydei across the hall. You hope nothing bad will come from those two being reunited.
Finally, once the table has been set and the drinks prepared, you see the Imperator appear at one of the entrances to the hall with Hysilens following close behind her. As she arrives, the whole room goes silent, showing her the same respect they always have. “It is my great honor to be here with the rest of you all for this feast today. Now, may the feast officially begin!”
Cerydra takes her seat at the table first, with Hysilens seated by her side, and everyone else funnels in. Of course, the seat reserved for Anaxa is left empty, but everyone else finds a spot. The plates of food are passed around so that everyone can enjoy their fill.
You and Firefly seat yourselves next to Cerydra and Hysilens, being some of the few bold enough to engage the great Imperator in casual conversation, “So how has Amphoreus been getting along since the battle against Irontomb? I know March and Dan Heng have made the trip back since then but I haven’t had the time.”
Cerydra answers first, “Well, Okhema has been at relative peace in the new world. This has been a great development for the people of the city, but it means I only need to work towards conquering newer and greater domains.”
“She’s spent much of her time playing chess against pretty much everyone who was willing. I’ve played against her, Dux Goldweaver has, she’s even convinced that professor who didn’t show up to play a game with her before, but alas, none have been her equal,” Hysilens continues on after her.
“Oooooooo, wait Stelle, we should bring them some new games from the Express the next time we come visit,” Firefly seems really excited by this idea, in part because she likes strategy games. They’re the one type of game she can actually manage to beat Silver Wolf in sometimes.
Cerydra seems pleased by her enthusiasm, even if she doesn’t show much emotion on her face, “Stelle, is your friend here also a fan of strategy games.”
“Yes,” you reply, “Firefly really enjoys strategy games.”
Cerydra then turns to address Firefly, “Well then Firefly, I am excited to see what games you have in mind and whether you’ll be able to keep up with me in them."
You move the topic slightly, “What about you Hysilens, how have you been?”
She seems to have been caught a bit off guard by this. Presumably she normally just lets Cerydra be the focus of the conversation, “Well I’ve just been doing the same things as always. When I’m not by the Imperator’s side I spend most of my time singing or swimming.”
Before any of you can get in a response to her statement, you hear a loud crash coming from the next room over. You look around the table to see that there are now three seats empty at the table. Of course, Anaxanaxaxa’s seat is still empty, but now there’s two more empty seats. Before you can even process who is missing, you can hear two people speaking and the answer becomes obvious.
“Deliverer, I told you not to try and hold as many trays as me. You wouldn’t be able to handle it.”
“I couldn’t let myself lose to you Mydei. And look! You dropped your trays too.”
“That’s only because when you fell so gracefully, you landed right on me, Deliverer.”
“I mean, when I saw I was going to fall, it seemed like the safest place to fall. And besides, you did catch me in the end.”
Little did the rest of you notice, but in the time those two had been arguing, Aglaea had gotten up from the table to confront the two hopeless idiots in the other room, “Phainon! Mydeimos! What in the world do you two think you’re doing?”
Firefly pulls you in closer to gossip about the situation in the other room, “Damn she sounds like she’s their mom right now.”
“And she used Mydei's full name, that’s how you know it's serious,” you reply, enjoying the gossip.
After a moment, Mydei responds first, “Aglaea, with all due respect, this is all the Deliverer’s fault.”
“Really! You’re putting all the blame on me for this mess?” Phainon’s voice sounds like this is the most offended he has ever felt in his life.
Firefly whispers some more, “You know, when I first met Mydei I thought he was kinda reasonable. But he definitely gives into Phainon’s antics way too much.”
“I mean, what can I say, that’s just true love in action,” you say, holding her hand tight as you say this.
Firefly blushes a bit as you speak, “Yeah, I can’t necessarily say you’ve been the best influence on me either.”
“Hey!” you say in the loudest possible voice while still whispering
Then Aglaea’s voice cuts up above the rest, “Enough, you two. Seriously why does something like this happen every single time you two are together. You’re both going to have to stay after the feast, to clean everything up.”
“Yes Lady Aglaea,” they both respond in unison, like toddlers who had just been reprimanded by a strict parent.
The celebration quieted down again once they all returned to the table. After a few minutes everyone was back to their casual conversations, even Aglaea, Phainon, and Mydei. After even more time, the feast was starting to die down, the plates were slowly emptied as everyone ate their fill, even Hysilens.
But right as everyone was getting ready to be done with the feast, the man you had all been waiting for finally arrived. “Everyone. Behold! The great Anaxagoras has done it again, and completed another great experiment.”
“You miss the entire feast and then you show up just for this?” Aglaea seemed very disappointed by Anaxamongus’ sudden arrival only after the main festivities had essentially concluded. Everyone else seems very pleased by the fact that the professor just finally showed up and everyone was now in one place.
“Relax Aglaea, for behold, my latest feat of alchemy is far more important than the feast I missed here. And regardless, is everyone not still here enjoying the celebration, there’s plenty of time for me to join in.” Aglaea still doesn’t seem very pleased, probably because she hoped he wouldn’t show up at all. But his logic was sound and there wasn’t any more she could say to rebut it. “Now come, to witness my latest feat of alchemy we must go outside.”
Everyone followed Annnnnnnnnnnnaxa out of Marmoreal Palace and onto one of the hills on the outskirts of Okhema. The whole way everyone was chattering about what sort of things he might’ve prepared that was this important. You hear a few of them as you're walking.
"I wonder what surprise Naxy has prepared for us?" Tribbie asks the other triplets.
"I bet he made a big rocket to reach the stars!" Trianne responds.
Trinnon's always been the most reasonable of the three, "I don't think something like that would've taken him so long."
And you hear Phainon and Mydei talking, "Look Deliverer, turns out all your efforts to convince that scholar to come didn't go to waste."
"See, I knew he would come!" is all Phainon had to say in response.
And there was the Imperator and her loyal retainer, "I hope whatever this professor has done this trip will be worth it."
"That sage has always had a way of doing marvelous things with his alchemy. I trust he will not disappoint."
There were many more conversations, but those were the ones that made their way to your ear. Upon reaching the top of the hill, you all find a series of blankets set out on top of the hill for you all to sit on. You and Firefly take a blanket to yourselves, as do Mydei and Phainon, and everyone else spreads out onto the remaining blankets in small groups.
“Give me a moment to set something up, and the show will begin,” and with that, Asnacksa walked down off the other side of the hill.
Firefly seems intrigued by his antics, “So what do you think he’s prepared?”
“Honestly, I’ve got no idea. There’s no logic to that man. But there’s like a 50% chance it’s the most boring thing ever and a 50% chance it’ll blow your mind.” you reply.
A few moments later the show starts, and immediately you settle on it being the latter of the two options. Despite the constant daylight in Okhema, you see beautiful fireworks flying overhead, in a massive display unlike any you had ever seen. Normally, fireworks wouldn’t have the same pop during daytime that they do during the night, but somehow Anaxsthesia had done it.
As the show starts, you feel Firefly’s hand reach over for yours, and you hold it back. This really was a celebration worth waiting for. The two of you lay back and relax, enjoying the show. So much so that you don’t notice Anaphylactic Shock sit down next to you, “So I hear you people from beyond the sky call these things fireworks, and they’re used for celebrating special events.”
“Yeah,” Firefly responds, “normally you can’t see them very well during the day time, but this is just beautiful.”
“It took a lot of testing to make it work. But I was confident I could get it done in time for the celebration.”
You laugh at this, “Well I would’ve been shocked if you had any doubts in your ability to do anything.”
As the show carried on, everyone slowly went silent until the only sounds around were the sounds of fireworks bursting above you. With one grand finale and a bunch of explosions, the fireworks finally died down and the show was complete.
However, there was still one thing yet to be resolved. You hear March speak up “Oh yeah Cipher, where’s that dress you promised me if Anaxa showed up?”
You turn to where Cipher was laying down to see her face white as a ghost, as if she were hoping March would forget about it, “Well… I’ve gotta go, I hope you guys enjoyed the celebration but I’m running late for… uh… something, anyways I’ll see you next time!”
And so Cipher rushes off into the distance without using her Coin of Whimsy, with March following right behind.
