Agott groaned. This wasn’t supposed to happen. She’s supposed to study, supposed to be the top student who gives her homework on time and passes all her exams with flying colors.
Right now she just completed and handed in an assignment that was so close to being past due and came back to her dorm being filled with flying colors, literally.
Turns out Richeh and Tetia somehow snuck in and now was bombarding her dorm with rainbows.
“Richeh! Tetia! What are you guys doing?!” She shouted as Tetia hung up a rainbow banner and Richeh threw a bunch of napkins all over the place. Agott sucked a sharp intake of air when she realized exactly what those colors were. The same three colors that has been haunting her since the moment she came to her realization.
“Don’t worry Agott! We’re here to help you!” Tetia exclaimed, her eyes filled with sparkles.
“Help with what?!” Agott couldn’t help but ask, ducking her head as Richeh threw some more, this time a bunch of rainbow ones.
“With your crush on Coco of course!” Tetia shrugged like it was a normal answer, causing Agott to choke on air for a brief second.
“What?!” The purple haired managed to choke out,
“You’ve been way too obvious, plus like, Qifrey-sensei told us you’ve realized that you're a lesbian so you must have realized your crush on Coco as well! So this is to support you!” Tetia said gesturing to the wild party of rainbow cloths being flung around. Richeh came around to give a pat of comfort on Agott’s shoulder. “Happy Pride month.” She said, while Tetia nodded along, causing Agott to almost choke again.
“You- You guys!” Agott exclaimed, flushing from head to toe. She didn’t know whether to be moved deeply or to kick them out immediately.
Suddenly, Agott’s phone rang, which made everybody silent, she took it out and looked at the caller ID.
Coco
Tetia squealed silently next to her, “See?! Answer the phone!”
“Don’t tell me what to do…” Agott mumbled, as she moved away from her honorary sisters that she would never tell them, because if they ever find out she would lose her mind before they would even react out of embarrassment.
“Hey… Coco?” She asked to the phone,
“Agott? Weren’t we supposed to go get ice cream for everyone? Because we found out Olruggio-sensei’s favorite ice cream flavor and wanted to surprise everybody?” Coco’s sweet, honey-laced voice filtered through the phone with confusion in her voice.
It struck Agott like lightning.
“Dammit!” They were supposed to go get ice cream, but Agott remembered her assignment last due and then completely forgot about it and came home exhausted and planning to finish a few more until she found Tetia and Richch bombarding her dorm.
“Hold on, where are you?!” She ran to the entrance with newfound energy, ignoring the shouts of Tetia and Richeh.
“I’m outside our university, where are you? You sound like you’re running. If you’re far, it;’s alright, you don’t need to come.”
Agott was tired, and would rather not with every cell in her body asking for rest. But her mind betrayed her because it felt like betraying Coco. After promising her to get ice cream she simply can’t say no to Coco.
“I’m at my dorm right now, wait for a few minutes, I’ll be there.” She said, putting on her shoes and running out of her dorm, not wanting to waste any opportunity to spend time with her newfound crush.
“Alright… But I’m not forcing you-” “I know, Coco.” Agott cut off Coco abruptly. She could’ve been softer, but she needs Coco to understand that there’s no way she’s going to trade anything else for this.
“I want to come, I promised, right? And you know I keep my promises.”
Coco hesitated, before responding, Agott could practically see her nod shakily, “Yes, I know you keep your promises.”
Well, Coco’s the only one who knows, because if it were anyone else telling her what to do, she’d snap at them just like Richeh.
By this time, she could see the main entrance and Coco standing out near it. She steadied herself and regained her composure so that she didn’t look like she ran a marathon. She caught up to Coco just as the blonde noticed her presence and smiled, and Agott’s composure vanished as her heart skipped a beat.
Coco was wearing something simple, a a pretty pastel yellow dress that fit well with her hair and god, those eyes. Agott could stare at them all day. How infuriatingly beautifully gorgeous, those eyes were. It was like looking into paradise.
And that smile that those attractive eyes came with, oh a full on package designed specifically to torture Agott and her heart and steal it away from the life of studying, and oh, how it worked. That smile should be treasured, and Agott would treasure it. She’s made sure that it would never, ever be tainted. Agott remembered when she first met Coco, and how she’s such harsh things after Qifrey gained guardianship over her after her mother went into a coma. She’ll never forget how she broke Coco’s fragile heart, now Coco’s put past all that and gained so much courage, but it still haunts Agott deeply.
All those thoughts immediately vanish though, once Coco opens her mouth.
“There you are, Agott! We don’t have much time, so let's go and buy it quickly.” Coco says and grabs Agott’s hand as she starts walking. Agott couldn't do anything, Just let herself be maneuvered by Coco and pray she doesn’t look as stupid as she feels for being so lovesick at the thought of Coco holding her hand.
They reach the store pretty quickly, because Agoot was so focused on how perfectly Coco and her hand fell into each other like they were made for each other, she wasn’t able to focus until Coco stopped and pointed at the store.
There they walked through the store in search of Olruggio-sensei’s favortie ice cream. First, they found the flavor, a mix of blueberry and raspberry. One of the weirdest flavors if you ask them, but whatever Olruggio-sensei likes they guess. Then they got a marshmallow flavor mixed with citruses and vanilla for Richeh and cotton candy for Tetia. For some reason, Qifrey liked vanilla, so they bought him vanilla.
“What do you want, Agott?” Coco asked as she turned to face Agott with a bright smile.
Agott softened immediately, she pretended to think about it, but she already knew the answer.
“I’ll have what you recommend.” She said, startling Coco.
“E-Eh?! Are you sure?!” She asked, and Agott almost chuckled at how adorable she was.
“Tetia told me that you have good taste ion suggesting flavors, so I wanted to test it out myself.” Agott explained, “So give me something, Miss genius in suggesting ice creams.”
Agott almost laughed at how easy it was to fluster Coco, even after all these years, she was still, such an angel.
Coco, who was as red as Qifrey’s homemade stew and had hid her face in her hands, peeked out. “I-If you’re sure..” She mumbled, and then pointed to one of the flavors.
“There’s… Matcha…” She said slowly, before perking up immediately in defense, “W-Which you can try first before buying!” She stammered, ears still pink.
Agott would have combusted from cuteness, because this scene right in front of her was adorable.
“Sure..” She said, pretending to judge Coco’s decision but already deciding in her head that she'd buy it.
She asked for a sample, and as soon as the flavor hit her tastebuds, it exploded in her mouth with a rich, bitter but sweet taste.
“Huh,”
It exploded in her mouth in a way that felt good.
“Fine, I’ll get it.” She said out loud, watching Coco perk up with sparkles in her eyes. “You- You will?!”
“Don’t be so surprised, it’s only because you managed to suggest something good.” Agott said in defence, watching how bright and cheerful Coco’s face had gotten.
“Thank you, Agott!” Coco said, smiling as bright as the sun and as beautiful as the prettiest woman on the planet.
“Yes, now come on, it’s your turn to pick an ice cream for yourself.” Agott reminded her future love.
“Oh,” Coco said, as if she completely forgot about it. How infuriating that she forgets about herself so often.
“Well…” Coco scratched her cheek, avoiding Agott’s gaze as she sweatdropped, “Since I suggested for you…” She trailed off.
“And?” Agott raised an eyebrow, prompting her to go on.
“Could you…” She took an inhale, “Could you perhaps… suggest for me?” She said quickly, then shook her head, “That is, if you want to!”
Agott decided to spare her, because she already made up her mind, “Fine, I will.” She said, approaching the display of ice creams.
“R-Really?” Coco said in disbelief and awe.
“Yes, now come on, I think I have an idea of what to get you.” Agott responded, failing to not look at the wonder and joy in Coco’s eyes.
“Thank you so much Agott!” Coco laughed, cheerful and intoxicating.
Agott wasn’t sure when she fell so deep in love with Coco, and she wasn’t sure when she decided that she'd make Coco hers only. Nobody would be able to claim her, especially after Tartah came, he’s not going to touch Coco, Agott’d make sure of that. She would make sure to woo Coco, to spoil her, treasure her no matter what. Because at the end of the day, Agoot was incredibly, unquestionably, undeniably, unmistakably stupidly in love with Coco and her stupidly charming smile and her precious eyes.
