Work Text:
Hero had laughed, when Knightshayde told her what she and Hemlocke had planned. He understood why. There was very rarely a need for funerals in this city. But very rarely didn’t mean never, and that was the thing, see. When permanent death did come, however rare, those left behind would want an appropriate funeral. With it being so rare, though, there weren’t many folks as would provide it.
That was where Knightshayde and Hemlocke would come in. Hemlocke would talk to the mourners, as she was far more charming than Knightshayde could ever be, and they’d sort things out between them. Knightshayde had qualifications of a sort. He’d run more than one funeral in her time. The pair of them would manage this well enough. They’d make good business partners. They already shared a bed, so why not share a business?
It wouldn’t earn them much, certainly not at first, but it wasn’t as though they couldn’t both supplement their income in other ways. She really thought they might have hit onto something here.
