Summary
Don’t get attached. That’s the only rule Commander Tower gives Shadow the Hedgehog for his next assignment: kill Espio the Chameleon of the Chaotix. Should be easy, right?
After the battle with Infinite, Espio and the rest of the Chaotix return home, exhausted but excited over their victory. Shadow starts entering Espio’s life, to the chameleon’s surprise. He starts to realize there’s more to Shadow than meets the eye, and he wants to learn more about him. Maybe more than he expected.
“Solo,” Tower says. “This one might be a bit different than normal, as you do know the target.” “I generally do, Commander,” Shadow says, keeping his voice dead and emotionless. “Any details?”
Shadow hates everything about G.U.N, so he enjoys making them squirm.
“Your target is Espio the Chameleon.” He pauses, then continues after a deep breath. “ we don’t know what he saw or took, and we need you to get it out of him, and figure who he’s told, if anyone. ‘Befriend’ him, torture him, I don’t care. You can do whatever you want. Just one thing, though.”
Shadow sighs before responding. “What?”
“Don’t get attached, Agent.”
