Dorian blinked at him for a moment, sleep clinging to the edges of his thoughts. “You’re still here.”
Chaol offered a small, tired smile. “I was going to go. Pack. Say goodbye.”
Dorian’s chest went cold.
“But,” Chaol said slowly, “I’ve been thinking. If you really meant what you said last night…”
“I did.” Dorian’s voice came out too fast, too earnest. “I meant all of it.”
Chaol nodded, his eyes searching Dorian’s face. “Then I’d like to stay. Not just for a visit. I think… it’s time I came home.”
