"Two Time..."
Two Time tensed.
They were in a black space that seemed like it would stretch on for miles,
"...Mentor?" They eventually said out loud.
It was pitch black, so dark that the only light was coming from...
...above?
It was the Spawn, above them in all its glory.
Two Time's eyes widened at the sight,
But...that wasn't where the sound was coming from.
"Our assassin." They heard a voice say, weirdly sounding like someone they're familiar with.
Before they could even muster up the energy to turn their head where the sound was-
They woke with a gasp.
"Huff..." They held a hand to their chest, closing their eyes and trying to breathe normally again. What was that? Actually, scratch that. It was too early to even think about something so unsettling.
Their eyes finally focused as their room came into place, eyes immediately darting to the corner Two Time had made fully dedicated to the spawn, instinctively crawling over to it.
A soft thud hit the floormat as they fell, groaning from the pain growing at their backside.
They'll be fine...they thought, Azure would probably find them and immediately know they're hurt.
Two Time's face grew warm, it was dawn and they were already thinking of Azure?!
Whatever… good thing he wasn't here to see how their face flushed. They got up to the corner in their room to say their morning prayers, praying for everyone around them, how grateful they are to be living, so blessed by the Spawn.
They sighed and plopped onto their bed again. Sure, they slept a bit better but these dreams kept popping up every few nights and they just felt too...
...Realistic.
That aspect of the dreams made them turn into nightmares for Two Time, it felt like something was crawling under their skin, and the thoughts in their head felt a bit louder. And everything felt louder.
They covered their ears with their hands, bringing their knees up to their chin and laying down.
The only sounds that were to be heard were Two Time's soft breathing, almost feeling relaxed.
A second passed by with their back against the wall.
It was too much, the feeling as if someone was watching them made them move away unconsciously and have their back hit another wall.
"Dear spawn..." Two Time gasped out, their room was so dark they started seeing things.
Eyes. Too many of them, and all focused on their figure.
They backed out, their breath hitched and they shut their cabin door, rubbing their arms.
Breath forming in small gasps, their own eyes darted around the cabins surrounding theirs in a straight pathway.
It seemed as if their legs were carrying them to another house nearby without meaning to,
An oak door was in front of them, plants and purple flowers next to it that were taken care of pretty well.
They raised their fist to knock, as some doubt started to cloud their mind...'What if he was busy?'...'I don't wanna disturb them' and 'Could he be sleeping right now?'
Starting to shiver from the cold, their cheeks and nose turning pink they risked it all and knocked thrice on the door.
Only 15 seconds had passed before a much taller male opened the door, dressed in dark sleepwear and styling fluffy brown scene hair.
Two Time suddenly felt too aware that they slept shirtless and probably looked really sleepy.
And gosh, it was so cold.
The first words out of Two Time's mouth weren't "Hello" or "how are you" they were
"A-azure..!"
And suddenly, they felt really embarrassed that they pulled up to his house so randomly literally at dawn. They grit their teeth so they wouldn't chatter.
"Timey, dear. Are you alright? Did you sleep well? It's so cold out now that autumn is here, come in before you catch a cold!" He gently got them into the cabin before shutting the door gently.
He sat them on his bed, crouching in front of them to their height and looking into their eyes and admiring how nice they looked. (Ahem.. Even while shirtless…)
"So, my dear. To what do I owe the pleasure of you visiting me? Or did you just wanna see me~" They teased, slightly pinching Two Time's cheek as they watched them get flustered by the action,
"I u-um...started to have odd dreams these past days…" They answered, avoiding eye contact then looking back at Azure.
Azure wore a worried look on their face, studying Two Time deeply and focused on their face.
"S-sorry if I bothered you, I..." Two Time started, they were already a bit jumpy because of the dreams, acting off.
"Nonsense my flower! You never disturb me in any way!" He said to them cheerfully, pulling them into a hug as they pat their back gently to make them feel better.
Two Time rested their chin on his shoulder, sighing softly.
"I have the day off!" Azure told them, referring to his gardening duties "Do you wanna stay here today?" Silently praying they say yes.
"Yes, please." Two Time answered quietly, grateful for the hug.
"Alright! So happy that you're here~" Azure told them, holding up a finger as they rushed to his closet to pick out something for his dearest. Before arriving back quickly.
Handing over a hoodie to Two Time, they helped them put it over their head and wear it (which probably was not necessary but it didn't matter, it was Azure!)
It was a little bigger than Azure thought, but Two Time was blessed by how comfortable it was and the fact it smelled like their… boyfriend.
"Let me help you get some rest, alright? and then we could spend the rest of the day together," A beautiful voice said, Two Time's most favourite voice in the world.
The nightlight was turned off by Azure, letting Two Time settle into his bed. Joining them as he placed a blanket on top. It was warm enough for Two Time to feel better—Azure was holding them. And they finally felt their body relax in what felt like days.
Azure started to kiss Two Time's neck, holding them from behind as they finally laid down together. They felt so safe around him, at peace finally.
"You're very comfortable," Their voice came muffled, Azure chuckled in a tone that made Two Time's knees weak.
"I love you too, Sweetheart." Azure whispered as they kissed their cheek, burying his face in their neck.
"Mmm.." They drifted off to sleep, Azure wrapped around them as their eyes closed finally.
Waking up in cold sweat, their heart was beating rapidly.
They had just had another dream, Azure was in it. Their most beloved and treasured person was there.
…But he was eyeless this time.
A shadow had always hung over Azure’s head, from that hat they always wore.
Two Time didn’t mind it in fact, It just reminded them more of Azure.
But this time, it was so unsettling.
He was calling out to them, and they only found him too little and too late.
Their hand draped over where their heart was beating, slowly snapping back to reality.
Just another dream… It wasn’t too serious… don’t make him worry…
Blinking a few times to focus their vision, realizing that this was not their cabin.
And this was not their messy bed…?
Instead, it smelled of flowers and the sun,
And that suddenly became their favorite scent.
But…Azure wasn’t here, where was he?
“Azu?” Two Time called out uncertainly, still wrapped in a blanket.
They started praying to spawn, hoping he was okay.
Which was, probably dramatic but after all of the nightmares…
Azure was the sunlight peaking through the curtains, the soft breeze of wind that just felt natural
The moon at night and their source of comfort.
They didn’t wanna lose him.
Ever.
“Timey! You’re awake!” Azure called from the other side of the room, making Two Time come back to reality from zoning out.
Azure, who was soaking wet, looked like they just finished showering and gotten closer to where Two Time was sitting in his bed.
“My Timey,” He chuckled to them, brushing some hair out of their face.
Two Time stifled a yawn as they refrained from rubbing their eyes, Azure told them it was bad, so…
“Good morning Azu...” Two Time said, smiling faintly at Azure in their drowsiness.
“Nightshade, did you sleep well?” Grinning at them, having them admire him even as his hair was soaking.
“A bit better, much gratitude…” They yawned out, still stirring.
“Um…Azure?”
“Yes, Two?
“You’re… kind of shirtless.” They turned their head the other way, quite embarrassed at that.
Wait, weren’t they shirtless yesterday?
This kind of makes it even.
Their face warmed,
Actually, no it doesn’t Azure looks so-
“Ah! Sorry dear I was just gonna ask you what you wanted for breakfast-” Azure told them, sort of amused at how shy they looked.
“Breakfast?” Two Time asked,
“Yes, Breakfast! Don’t tell me you’ve been neglecting yourself, Two…”
“N-no! I mean..-” They babbled.
“Pancakes, right?” He said for them, ruffling their hair affectionately as the scent of soap washed over them.
They agreed sheepishly, why were they acting so shy?
It was probably because of how good looking they found Azure.
“Sorry- I didn’t mean to stare-” Two Time said suddenly, the admission slipping out,
“That’s okay, I’m gonna go make you food okay? You can stay in bed or wear something else I have in the closet.” He kissed their cheek, ruffling their hair one more time before walking out the bedroom…
….Wearing just a towel around his waist.
Azure was really comfortable with them, huh?
…huh.
They burrowed under the blanket to hide their face flushing because of that,
Eventually they got up from the bed and took off the blanket that was around them,
They stretched as they got into the bathroom. It's been a long while since they slept as good as this—
—Probably because of Azure having been with them, and holding them.
