Chapter Text
“Dude, you’re such a loser.”
It was a normal day and Firey and Coiny were arguing on their walk home from school. Nothing out of the ordinary for these two, as trash talk had become almost a part of their daily routine at this point.
“Yeah, as if,” Coiny rebutted, “I have lots of natural charm.”
“No way, you’re a disaster!” Firey retaliated
“If I’M a disaster, then I don't even want to knowr what you might be”
“Shut up, you can’t even get a girlfriend” Fiery spat
“What? I definitely could!” Coiny argued
“If you could, then why don’t you. I know you have a crush on someone.” Firey smirked
“How could you know?” Coiny piped
“It’s so obvious! You’re always spacey and started drawing . It’s gross.”
Coiny thought for a second, not realizing how obvious it had been. He thought of something to say in response.
“Well, That’s because I have a girlfriend."
At hearing that, Firey laughed- actually laughed.
“Sure, let me guess, she goes to a different school? You don’t talk about her much because she’s shy?”
“No- she’s real, i swear!” Coiny spouted, not knowing where this was coming from, because in reality, he had no girlfriend
“Fine,” Firey sayd, still in disbelief, “If she’s actually real, i wanna meet her. See how you could possibly pull someone”
“YOu know what, fine!”
As soon as Coiny got home, he walked straight to his room. None of his parents were home at the time, which was normal. He closed his bedroom door, sat on his bed, and realized how in over his head he was.
“What was I thinking!? I don’t have a girlfriend!” Coiny thought to himself. Unfortunately, he knew that that wasn’t going to work. That would mean Firey was right- which, he was- but Coiny couldn’t let him win! He knew there was an option, but he wasn’t sure if that was the length he was willing to go to.
After fighting with himself for a while, Coiny opened up his texting app. Should he be calling for something like this? No, he should definitely text. It would make it seem more casual, and she wouldn’t be able to hear the nerves in his voice.

Coiny hesitated before sending the message, her heart pounding, writing and rewriting the text multiple times. How could he explain this in the least weird way possible? Would it creep her out? Would she say no? Would she never want to talk to him again?
What scared him worse, however, was the possibility that she would say yes. Why did that scare him? Because what if he messed up? What if he didn’t sell it well enough. What if Firey saw right through it? He could never live that down.
Although, deep down he felt like that might not’ve been the only reason he was scared.
Regardless, he figured it was a lose-lose situation, so he finally sent the text.

So then Coiny opened YouTube Music. He put his playlist on shuffle, flopped onto his bed, and stared at his ceiling. It was at this moment when he realized;
He was absolutely screwed.
