Summary
Wednesday Addams has one year and one day to conquer Night City.
To inherit House Addams, he must establish territory, secure Arasaka recognition, create an independent dynasty, and find a wife. Instead, he uncovers a program harvesting memories from the dead, starts a territorial war with the Tyger Claws, shelters a fugitive MaxTac officer, and hires a nightclub performer named Enid Sinclair, a streetwise diner cook and nightclub performer—to play his fiancée. The contract promises separate rooms, negotiated touch, independent counsel, and no obligation beyond the appearance of affection.
The problem is that the performance becomes convincing.
The contract is supposed to make affection manageable.
It does not.
In a city where bodies, memories, loyalty, and love can all be bought, Wednesday must build a House people willingly choose or become another man who mistakes ownership for belonging.
