Notes:
Hello! Im new on AO3, but i am not new to writing (well..i am kind of bad. Sorry!). I am a fanfiction writer, an artist, a comic maker, and a slight animator! I really hope you'll enjoy this new creative alternate universe i had made for over one year! And yes, i will mischaracterize EVERY character, and the reason why it is not all of them in because it is unfinished. Even though i didn't type any of them yet, i already have concepts for everyone. If you want to make your own story based on this AU and need specific characters' personalities, please just ask me in the comments! Heavily Mischaracterized AU (HM AU) ♣️♦️
A BIG DISCLAIMER ⚠️
• People from original/first season of BFDI, except HM Pencil, HM Tennis Ball, HM Golfball, and HM Teardrop, are corrupted except David and Dora. David and Dora stand out because they are the watchers of this AU. What i mean is the one who observes everyone's actions and works a bit with HM Golfball researching. I dont say "HM David" and "HM Dora" becaue they are the only one who are the one actually not that heavily mischatacterized (except that they research). The other algebraliens except HM One, HM Two, HM Four, HM Three, and Six are not corrupted but the others is because they are not a major part of the story. Six also stands out because of the same reason as David and Dora.
• Corrupted means the black goo from TPOT 21, got them and instead of it being healing like in TPOT, its deadly. And killed all the characters who are not essential to the story (it broke the fourth wall.?). The goal is for them to stop the black goo before it effects the main characters too, even with some people having unpleasant personalities, people having grudges, some accusations, and a team they were forced to create.
• Special:G@ty is somehow censored, but not corrupted. Even though she has been brought back to existence by One (One made her go in the goo, making her corrupted but One drained her power a bit for the grace of G@ty and HM Three),the censor still remains. Because when Gaty was not existing, when people mention her name it instantly glitches Into G@t¥. But the glitch has lessened and now only the "a" glitches. G@ty does not have a "HM" by the way, even though she is mischaracterized, because she isnt heavily mischaracterized that much.
• This is an open story. I will not be making a story out of this AU, but i will just only give the status and personality of everyone. So you can choose their ending, how they solve it (or how they couldnt), or if they change love interest (only if you want to change it to your liking.)
• Only the algebraliens have a normal-ish blue blood color (the blue color is resembling the color of math.) while the other objects have a different blood texture/color depending on what object they are.
BEING CORRUPTED SIDE EFFECTS:
• Name will glitch when someone mentions it. Example is instead of "Woody", its "W0od¥". Mostly affects OG/side characters.
• The person who is infected will have the deadly black goo dripping at their hands and mouth, if they bite/touch you, you also get infected.
• Pupils will turn into a "?" And eyes will turn white/red depends on severity/how much goo drowned the person (for humanized version)
• Permanent black goo footsteps
• Either will stay as a zombie-like or be deceased/dead. If dead, they cannot get revived in a recovery center. Instead people have to find an extra different cure for the deceased (One to be normal, one to be alive). And most end up like a zombie when corrupted, but algebraliens are the most common to be deceased
• There are no stages in infection. When you get infected, you directly die or get infected.

Important PS:I will NOT type the infected's/missing's personalities because i do not want to burn myself out with 78 characters. But i still have their personalities in mind. Please just ask me if you want to know the infected's/missing's personalities.

• Literally too obsessed with science. Will make even music connected to science if she could

• Mechanical arms. Left arm slightly upper than normal/right arm because of a mistake she cant fix because its permanently attached
• Denial crush on HM Tennis Ball. A HEAVY denial.
• Hates HM Coiny from the before phrase "TB GB sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" And still does and HM Coiny still ships and annoys her with that phrase until today
• Absolutely tired of everyone because they make her feel annoyed
• Studies the algebraliens almost creepily for a "scientific discovery"
• Witnessed the Deadly Goo
• One time she didnt sleep for a full day and she needed persuasion from Dora to go to bed. Probably one of the first times Dora was concerned
• Golfball heard Firey's screams. She plays that over and over with regret.

• Golfball has nightmares about the infection and becomes to have a fear of sleep because of that, causing her to overwork in her free time
• She doesn't want to let the information about Loser slip, secretly having too much empathy but fronting it as so they wont do chaos about it, EwA is the proof of that.
HM Eraser
• Ladies' man/gentleman, especially to HM Teardrop
• More formal and less pranks
• Tries his best to impress HM Teadrop
• Madly in love with HM Teardrop after TPOT 6
• Wears a black suit tie (sometimes a black bow), black hat and black sunglasses
• Has eyebags from gaming with HM Pen, and HM Snowball
• Knows some people's secrets like HM Pen's, HM Snowball's, and even W0od¥'s
• Misses W0od¥ so bad
• Friends with W0od¥
• Witnessed the Deadly Goo first (that wasn't infected. The real first one is infected, which is Firey)
• Actually was in a confusing loop of either crushing on HM Pen, B/0cK¥, and HM Teardrop before actually focusing and having a real crush on HM Teardrop
• Almost got manipulated by HM Liy (Fanfiction writer/artist can choose if she actually fell for it or not) because HM Liy is jealous of HM Eraser dating HM Pen

• Focuses on fame more than friends

• Has small cracks on his head
• Forgot about HM Winner until they met again

• Is actually kind of mean to a lot of people except HM Cake

• Insecure about his name, "Loser" and is slightly jealous of HM Winner's name

• "No time for romance! Slaughter is better!" -HM Pillow herself (canon line)

• Has rips around her pillow skin from fighting
• Always carries a knife
• Watched almost every thriller movie
• She can be good but mostly bad. She can ACTUALLY have self-control sometimes, so she doesn't always kill 24/7, but she almost accidentally kill the infected before HM GB stopped her
• Absolutely does not care about the infected
• Has fangs
• Actually knows HM Loser did the infection, but doesn't tell because she actually enjoys the thrill
• Keeps a notepad to write down her victims' reactions to the killing
• The most normal blood there, as they have thick purple-red liquid as blood
• Actually knows Fourteen, and actually got her inspiration to kill because of him. They are both friends
HM Pen
• Is a HUGE scaredy cat
• Has scars in his face and has a bandage at his nose area
• Slightly dependent on HM Liy, HM Eraser and HM Snowball
• Absolute twink
• He is mostly scared of spiders, the infected, and.. Pencil?!
• Had a confusing crush on B/0cK¥ and HM Eraser but now it is mostly HM Eraser
• Has blurry vision but refuses to wear glasses. Said he would look like a "nerd"
• HM Snowball slightly makes fun of him for being so scared

HM Snowball
• Is SO rude most of the time except to HM Grassy

• Teamed up with HM Eraser to sabotage other people's things needed for challenges before the Deadly Goo started to release. There primary focus to sabotage is the Death P.A.C.T team because there all "too "kind" to make a grudge." (Except Fanny.)
• Treats HM Grassy like his own kid
• Even though he's really rude, if you get on his good side (B/0cK¥ (before), HM Eraser, HM Pen (somehow), and HM Grassy) he's really soft and nice
• Agrees when HM Fanny says "I HATE everyone!"

HM Donut
• Likes HM Barf Bag
• Wears circular glasses (gets called a "nerd" a LOT of times)
• Is actually sort of a nerd when it comes to analysis (especially/mostly food) and grammar

• Is actually fragile literally and by personality
• Is a fan of romance and drama movies
• Sort of H8TES Saw for always saying "_8_!!"
• Has a good relationship with HM Pie
• Is jam and cherry filled (Pillow tested it and finds it fascinating and weird that a donut is jam and cherry filled)
• The filling is his blood
HM Lightning
• Is easily angered most of time and his anger causes him to accidentally zap people
• Believes in HM BH being the royal leader and is his "knight"/ "protector"
• Has lightnings as his eye, sometimes confusing if he is an infected or not
• Wears orange armor to look more a knight,more protected and to intimidate
• Has yellow lightning aura around him
• Has a big ego sometimes and always talks to the point he accidentally interrupts
• Teams up with HM Cloudy being the knight for HM BH
• Acquaintances with HM Cloudy
• Doesn't have liquid blood, instead has electricity
HM Cloudy
• Is more fluffy
• Blunt
• Has cloud hands but still no legs
• Also has grey armor (like a knight) that sort of resembles a cloud, to look more intimidating
• Snarky and gets annoyed easily
• Has a strong dislike to HM Snowball, HM Pen, HM Eraser, and still has a grudge to B/0cK¥ even when he's infected.
• Keeps an eye on HM Loser
• Steals items sometimes, especially from HM Tree and HM Pen
• Doesn't have blood
HM Clock
• They treat him as an exhausting annoying character
• Makes sounds at 3AM like an unwanted alarm clock
• Is hated by a LOT of people/objects. Golfball is the most affected, one of the reasons why she has eyebags
• Has a crush on HM Winner and makes it painfully obvious (but HM Winner tries to ignore it to not hurt his feelings)
• Hates HM Cake out of jealousy and spite
• Is only in a positive mood when he makes someone annoyed
• Actually has a deeper way on why he annoys, as he wants to delay Golfball's research so he can observe the Goo better
• Doesn't have blood, closest is his material under the paint
HM Barf Bag
• Some of the characters see her as disgusting, in looks
• Very misunderstood because people judge too quickly, but she also sometimes makes others slip with her barf, proving some other's point
• Doesn't really like being misunderstood but too careless to prove them
• Likes risky stunts and provoking strong people like HM Golfball and HM Snowball
• Mostly stays inside her hotel room
• Donut likes her because he sees her as a misunderstood and he pities her a LOT, and she sometimes uses that to her advantage
• Technically doesn't have blood, but her barf is the closest she needs to live
HM Book
• Still has her BFDIA personality
• Very competitive and has a grudge against HM Pin and HM Needle
• Keeps boasting about her BFDIA win
• Makes winning her whole career and tries to talk to HM Winner on how to "win other challenges"
• Wears gold color glasses, but she can see well. Its just only because to look professional
• Pretends her gold glasses is real gold
• Doesn't really like HM Needle but she pretends to be friends with her, but is open about her HM Pin's hatred
• Misses FreeSmart ..? Also misses RuB¥
• Doesnt have blood
HM Remote
• Easy to manipulate.
• Pretends to be a softie like HM X so she can get protected by Pie, but she is more savage and a bit independent than HM X
• Almost got manipulated by HM Liy (Fanfiction writer/artist can choose if she actually fell for it or not) because HM Liy is jealous of HM Remote dating HM Pie
• Once tried to fix the AC in the hotel without consent, but since she is really bad at it, she made the AC almost explode. HM Two and HM Four was in a bad mood after that incident
• Wears ribbons that look like wires, scares some characters sometimes
• REALLY loves technology but is really bad at it
• Friends with HM TV but HM Pie hates their friendship
• Is a robot, doesn't have blood, closest is broken wires
HM TV
• HATES HM Pie so much because she stole HM Remote away from him
• Has a crush on HM Remote and still does even though HM Remote is dating HM Pie
• Is really good at technology, got more greater at it once HM Golfball decided to give him mechanical hands
• Misses HM Remote dearly
• Friends with HM Robot Flower but he doesn't like how rude she is.
• Sees F\0w3r in HM Robot Flower
• Can see his own screen, so he sometimes watches his own screen when he is bored
• Literally mourns HM Remote sometimes
• HM Robot Flower is secretly annoyed about HM TV's rants about HM Remote
• Is a robot, doesn't have blood, closest is broken wires
HM Foldy
• Loves doing paper crafts
• Is oblivious to the chaos around her
• Misses $t@pY a LOT and paints her staplers pink to remind her of HM Stapy
• Friends with HM Remote and HM Bell
• Is OBSESSED with paper and especially crafting with it, her hotel room is full of paper crafts, colored paper, art materials and scrapbooks
• One of her scrapbooks has pages dedicated to $t@pY because she misses him dearly
• Has a secret crush on $t@pY, but she denies it
• IS curious on whats the end of HM Bell's string, sometimes makes doodles about it
• Sometimes draws on her arm with pen as a joke, and lets her friends draw in markers. HM Marker does NOT like seeing it
• Foldy keeps replaying Stapy's face, his eyes turning red, she replays everything.
• Doesnt have blood
HM Teardrop
• Is a fighter
• Has a voice, but chooses not to speak to leave people curious and is selectively mute
• Only speaks when needed
• Has a female voice similar to HM One, but a little bit more high pitched
• Always carries her raygun
• Misses L0/l1pOp and G3l@tiN a lot
• Secretly knows HM Eraser has a MASSIVE crush on her, but doesn't point it out to tease him further
• Almost tried to fight the infecteds before like what HM Pillow tried to do before
• Since she can melt into a puddle, she does it to spy on characters' conversations
• Technically doesn't have blood
HM Basketball
• Took some inspiration from HM Golfball and is now a scientist like her
• Even though she got inspiration from HM GB, she sort of hates her for some reason
• Is best friends with HM Robot Flower and secretly likes her a little
• Wears circular glasses
• Has some grudging respect for HM GB
• Is good at technology and fixes the mechanical characters like HM TV, HM Robot Flower, and HM Remote just in case if their wires get in a twist
• LOVES technology and science, but she is good at science more
• Actually one of the ones worried about the Deadly Goo but refuses to help HM GB
• She will be at RISK if theres hole inside her, as she might die from the air getting out of her
• Technically doesn't have blood, closest is the air inside her
HM Coiny
• Greedy
• Steals MONEY as a coping mechanism, even while knowing money is useless now
• Sometimes teams up with Cloudy on stealing, but Cloudy is still the worst
• Really dislikes HM Nickel, especially when he says those weird words and when pestering him
• Wears a tophat with a four-leaved clover on it, its a real one. He took 2 hours trying to find it in Two's garden
• Two doesnt really like him for going into their garden without permission
HM G@ty
• Always bored
• Can sometimes be seen spray painting herself, specifically on the colors neon green and pink
• Is still best friends with HM Saw, but HM Gaty is more distant
• Has a complicated relationship with One, as she put her in The Deadly Goo but revived her
• Is confused why One just didnt try to revive everyone, as One revived her when she was infected
• Can be seen sleeping outside of her hotel room, like trees with shade or far from the hotel
• She doesn't really care about Two, as she is only friends with them for personal gain
• Has similar holes from TPOT 19 (but more severe, no one knows why)
HM Robot Flower
• Just plain rude
• Friends with Basketball, but mostly just because she's good at technology
• Doesn't really like the other robots, TV and Remote, for their irritating personalities
• Doesn't really like Golfball since she is strict
• Has a lot of enemies because of her personality
• Basketball is concerned for her attitude, as they both might get a bad reputation from her
• Does not care for the infected
• HM Grassy drew a smiley face at her face, and she also has a chunk of her gone, revealing her wires. Basketball didn't fixed this yet, since she is so focused on her own experiments
HM Naily
• Is always the type to spread information first
• Loves and always seeks adrenaline, hurting her and others sometimes in the process.
• Only has one robotic arm, because she wants to still feel the way it was hard before robotic arms existed
• Loves doing those emoticon faces like HM Price Tag
• Friends with HM Price Tag and acquaintances with HM Winner
• Sometimes keeps pushing boundaries
• Is actually kind in her own way
• A lot hate her because of her intrusive attitude

I have an AU in an AU, so here are them:
Heavily Mischaracterized BFDI AU
• Also called HM AU, is basically where i put hated stereotypes as an AU, but i far more over exaggerated them as far then a lot normally do. Includes Loser causing an infection that infects the people who didn't appear in TPOT. Making TPOT the only safe place.. for now. I also leave plot holes in this open story on purpose for creativity.

• A very simple AU where i fix my own plot holes. Yes, i do fix my own plotholes, but i let people interpret their own
Heavily Mischaracterized AU - Your Fault, Your Fate
• An AU where everyone is witnessing more worser causes, like where the infection liquid Loser caused can mimic others, etc. Also that the fact everyone is more injured and less merciful
Heavily Mischaracterized AU - Exposing With Anger
• Where Golfball had slightly failed the cure, and when she tested it on an infected carefully, it had gotten worse. David, Dora, and Golfball ran away safely, but the news spread fast. Now everyone is arguing and blaming Loser for the cause.
Heavily Mischaracterized AU - Recovery Is Different Now
• As much as the title suggests, no, they can still revive in the recovery center. I mean its where Golfball soon found a cure after 8+ months, and curing every infected. Making reunions, love blossom, and well.. embarassment appears. But everyone is still safe.
Heavily Mischaracterized AU - Bleeding Into The Real One
• It is where the cure magically teleports everyone into the real BFDI world, including the infected. Causing chaos and destruction out of their boundaries. And the title has five words instead of 3-4 to symbolize difference and their out of boundaries
Heavily Mischaracterized AU - Are We Sure
• It is where Two gets really bored and still decides to do challenges in TPOT, even when the infection is at risk and even that the fact Golfball is really busy finding a cure
Heavily Mischaracterized AU - A Manipulator's Slaughter
• An AU where when Liy teaches Pillow how to manipulate, Liy decides to take advice from Pillow instead, deciding to kill her enemies. But Liy slowly goes insane and becomes the new murderer, as Pillow supporting her the whole way
Angst Part (unfinished!)
Four is heavily dependent in X, he probably knows X slightly manipulates him, but he doesn't care. Every time X goes somewhere without him, he abandons everything and looks for him, or either thrashes around like a child
Marker misses Death P.A.C.T. He didn't want this infection to happen.. Tree wasn't this obsessed.. Fanny wasn't this hateful.. Blackhole even favorited Marker for being purple.. but the friendship destroyed because of the infection.
Nickel does funny idiotic rhymes to cope. He secretly misses the old past, he didn't want any of this, and before he was sort of the "class-clown" but its not a class, i mean he makes everyone laugh, but now its just to cope
Pillow.. is hard to see the good in herself. I mean not only people see her as an "insane murderer", even herself. She doesn't remember what she was before anymore. But shes fine with that.. isn't she?
Two has two sides, energetic and tired. I know their just tired from playing games, but he sometimes cries himself to sleep because they blame themselves for letting Loser cause everything.
Remote is the most sensitive out of the robots/AIs, and the most dependent and careful. Thats why she's worried about TV liking her but she is already dating and loving Pie dearly. She can't control relationships and crushes well
Golfball is self-explanatory. She always pressures herself to work and work, her last time finding the cure lasted 48 hours, and she's trying to go longer just to solve the infection for everyone, and she doesn't expect anything in return
Bottle is always unusually happy the similar reason as Nickel. But its mostly different because like Marker, she clings to the nostalgia she misses and doesn't forget any memory, even the bad ones because she's so desperate. She'd do everything to go back go into the past, but not fix it.. because she's blinded by nostalgia
Grassy just cant do this. He's the second youngest in the crew of TPOT, and he's been more stressed than others. He heavily depends on Snowball and Eggy because their the only ones he sees as heros, and also Golfball, he sometimes goes in her room and stays with her, staying his late nights with her quietly
One is very lonely like in TPOT, but more heavily. No one really knocks on her house (she is the only one who has a house and not a hotel room) but its only when she's needed, because she has authority. She is only called for gatherings, meetings, and when needed
X, as much as he secretly manipulates, she's secretly dependent as he looks. Even though they're not THAT dependent, but until the fact when Four could yell at her and he'll still love him dearly. He doesn't get attached easily, but when he does, he gets dependent
Foldy, mainly a side character, is because she's always in her room, doing crafts like usual. But she sometimes locks her door and just stares at Stapy, Bell, and Eggy pictures and cry silently, missing how it was before
Tree is a bit different, even though he's the same as Four, as he would abandon everything for Blackhole, he would hesitate, does he even care for him anymore? He knows Blackhole doesn't even love him back, and Blackhole is even annoyed at him, but he always goes back in the loop on loving him again.
Tennis Ball mostly loves science just for Golfball. Because Golfball got interested in science a long time ago, and he studied science for years just for her. And now he hates the infection because he can't be with Golfball anymore since she's always busy. And also he's worried about her because she's working too much
Barf Bag hated being misunderstood. She was seen as disgusting, weird, ugly. But she knows she cant prove them wrong. She doesn't defend anyone out of adrenaline or fear, she cant fix her own appearance, and she rarely shows worry. So she cant help but try to embrace the misunderstanding, slowly loosing her true self
Bell was never this rude, she was actually described as always curious and adventurous, and she WAS friends with Foldy and Eggy, but the whole incident made her make many grudges, enemies, a scowl on her face always, and their whole friendship to break up from pressure and anger.
Book is always clinging on to her win, because she's scared she'll never win again. She might never have a champion again, and thats how she became so boastful and competitive, completely different from her previous self. She doesn't care about friends anymore, what matters is winning everything. At any cost.
Coiny steals MONEY as a coping mechanism because when he steals, he feels powerful, rich, etc. But he knows he'd secretly abandon everything for Pin. He knows its a bit of a toxic relationship, but he doesn't care. Everyone's mostly dependent on someone anyway, why can he be not the same?



Loser doesn't know when to feel regret or that crave that always calls for him. Popularity. He knows he says he cares for his fans, which was everyone BEFORE. But he mostly just payed attention to the money, the popularity, the cheers. But he doesn't know if it was all worth it. Was it worth doing the infection for his skin? He might say yes, because he can finally know when to trust and not, but everyone and his instincts say no, because it wasnt worth further damaging his skin. It wasn't worth damaging his... worth. If he didn't did that, he would've to had the fame he always craved. No one would've known he's fame driven. Winner would still befriend him. Everyone would say names dont matter, he would've been the proof that he isnt a loser, he's LOSER.
