Chapter Text
Yoshiki was woken up by a sharp pain in his stomach. As he reached over to his bed-side table for his stomach medicine he hears his mother yelling at him from downstairs that breakfast was ready.
"Ughhhh...." Yoshiki pulled himself out of bed in his pyjamas- just a t-shirt that was very stretched out, and a pair of trackpants.
"Coming Ma." Yoshiki said yawning as he climbed down the steps and was almost bowled over by his sister running up the stairs past him with tears streaming down her face. Yoshiki doesn't bat an eye; this was something that happened a lot.
As he sat down at the dining table and started to butter himself a slice of toast the doorbell rung, and Yoshiki's Ma bustled over to see who it was. Yoshiki heard muffled voices coming from the doorway and the sound of footsteps coming towards the dining room.
In the doorframe stood Hikaru; Yoshiki's best friend.
"Heya Yoshiki!" "Hikaru" exclaimed eagerly.
"Hey..." Yoshiki mumbled back biting into his toast and staring down at the magazine in his hands avoiding eye-contact with "Hikaru".
"Hikaru" came and sat down next to Yoshiki and looked over at him.
"Whatcha reading Yoshiki?" He asks lifting Yoshiki's bangs out of his face and looking him dead in the eye with a glint of mischievousness.
"None ya' business." Yoshiki retorts batting "Hikaru's" hand out of his face.
"Why so grumpy Yo-shi-ki?" "Hikaru" purposefully stretches out Yoshiki's name to annoy him. Yoshiki isn't taking it and ignores "Hikaru". "Hikaru" pouts then puts his face between Yoshiki and the magazine and pulls one of his stupid faces. Yoshiki can't help but smile and push "Hikaru's" head out the way then look at him.
"So what do ya' wanna do today?" Yoshiki asks "Hikaru". "Hikaru" suggests that they go get ice-cream from the place that never has ice-cream and only has papico. Yoshiki accepts the suggestion especially since it's so hot. As Yoshiki gets ready "Hikaru" brings up the fact that that was the place where Yoshiki confronted him about not being the real Hikaru.
"Oh is that so..." Yoshiki says unsurely, even though he remembers very that fateful day very well, he decides not to show it. They walk out the house and grab their bikes and head off to the convenience store that isn't very convenient especially when it comes to ice-cream.
