“But… you’re not Hikaru,” he said. Not-Hikaru opened his eyes, surprised to be seen as him and not as the vestige of Yoshiki’s best friend. “You’re you.”
Uncertainty joined Hikaru's features then, wedging into the space where their bodies had yet to converge. But when Yoshiki slid his hand to the nape of his neck, tangling in his hair, he melted into the touch. Hikaru blushed in uncharacteristic shyness, cheeks reddening to the point that any watermelon guts on his face would be lost to the eye.
Yoshiki could feel Hikaru’s breath quick and damp on his lips. “So maybe you’d like it like this instead,” he whispered as he closed the distance, melting into him too.
OR
Yoshiki teaches Hikaru how to kiss. Hikaru teaches Yoshiki how to touch him without imagining his Hikaru.

The horrifying similarity between their current position and scenarios Yoshiki had only allowed himself to imagine for a fleeting moment in the dead of night was not lost on him. Before the perverse thrill set in, he knew he needed to shove the other boy to the floor with forced disgust and tell him to never touch him like that again, but the breeze on the back of his neck reminded Yoshiki that they were alone, and maybe he could allow himself to do something unforgivable, just this once.
'Hikaru' reaches out to touch, and Yoshiki’s intimacy issues run deeper than he cares to think about.

Hikaru has been dead for months.
That’s what Yoshiki has to remind himself every time he stares at the perfect copy sitting across from him. This copy, this fake Hikaru is not and somehow could not be further from the boy he still loves with all of his guilt ridden heart.
Yet, this monster insists that he loves him back. And Yoshiki can only handle those words from those lips for so long.
