"LUCAS OSBORN!" Pangi shouted at the British man opposite him. He held his hands up warily as the waves of the beach gently jostled them to and fro. "I swear if you get my hair wet, nobody in the world can save you."
"Aww, Sem, come on. You're at the beach, man. Live a little. Do as the Romans do, ya know?" Lukey steadily made his way forward; although his voice was sickeningly sweet, his mischievous smile spoke volumes about his intent.
Lukey looked good today, sporting nothing but swimming trunks. His toned body was painted a healthy gold by the sun, which sparkled against the droplets of seawater that clung to his skin. His hair was damp and stuck to his forehead in a way that Pangi had only ever seen in the sauna (admittedly, it was hot; he couldn't explain why). Lukey's frame was a little smaller than his, but don't let that fool you; there's a lot of hidden power under that lanky facade.
"If I wanted to take a swim, I would've already done it!" Lukey took another step forward.
"LUCAS!" He shouted again as Lukey made an even larger stride towards him, his smile getting wider.
His foot shifted in the loose gravel as the water rose to his waist. Fuck. He was running out of shallow ground.
"Pangi~ you got nowhere to run, bud." Lukey's voice wafted over the sound of the wind and the waves. Pangi cursed to himself and attempted to run around him. First mistake. He immediately stumbled on the gravel, catching himself before he hit the water, but that was all the other man needed. A playful screech sounded behind him."Rahh!"
Pangi felt the familiar weight of Lukey's body befall him. Those deceivingly thin arms burst with strength as they wrapped around his neck and entangled his chest. A leg, stuck between his and twisted just enough to catch his next foot forward. Suddenly, he was falling into the water. Lukey's gleeful laugh filled his ears before being drowned out by the sea.
It didn't take long for Pangi to reorient himself. The desire for petty revenge immediately sent his adrenaline soaring. He grabbed onto the loosening forearms before they completely let go and tugged. And once again, he felt Lukey fall into him, but this time, his arms wrapped around the Brit's torso, pulling him deeper into the water with him.
They struggled for a bit underneath the water, all of it unseen, before they both came up for air. Lukey came up first, half-sitting, half-standing as the tide rocked him in place. Pangi rose a second later, immediately shaking his head, sending droplets everywhere, and wiping the seawater from his eyes. "I told you, nobody could save you!"
"Doesn't matter, buddy, this is two for two!"
"This doesn't count?!"
"Oh yeah, it does. Wait! Se-" Pangi jumped towards him, interrupting whatever excuse Lukey was gonna say. Probably something stupid to ragebait him. It didn't matter, he'll be the only winner today.
It was quite easy to grapple Lukey. Maybe it was from experience from all the other times they've wrestled each other, or just how familiar he was with the Brit's body, Pangi managed to wrap his arms around his waist, laughing all the while. "Are you ready, Lucas?"
"Wait, Sem! Wai-" He immediately jumped and lifted Lukey, who attempted to curl up in his arms, slamming both of them into the incoming wave.
"What the fuck!" Pangi rose from the seawater with a laugh. It was always nice to hear Lukey complain, and with him looking like a sopping-wet cat, genuinely this time, it was adorable. Stupid, even.
"Now, what lesson did we learn?"
"That you're an asshole."
"Dalright. So, it seems that didn't get through your head."
“Wait! Sem! Please!" It would have been more believable if he hadn't been giggling the entire time.
Pangi swam towards him and reached out to grab Lukey's leg, which had extended towards him as he was mid-attempt of trying to escape. He dodged the feeble kicks with ease, and glided beside Lukey—swimming practice finally paid off—and once again wrapped his arms around him. He had to admit, he missed this.
Pangi pulled them both under the water.
“Sometimes, I wonder what the point of my coming out here with you two is.” Tertel looked between the two of them, shifting in turn. He was wearing sunglasses, so it was difficult to see his actual expression, but he was leaning against the gravel beside all their bags. “Do you guys just need a witness to be able to do something or what? Cause there are plenty of people here. Heck, you could also just pull up stream.”
“Aww, but Joel, then how would we go about making sure you feel included?” Lukey retorted from beneath his towel.
Pangi nodded along, the corners of his mouth lifting.“Yeah! Weren’t you complaining that you were bored being stuck inside the flat all day?”
Tertel pointedly stared at both of them before reaching up to remove his sunglasses. He rolled his eyes before putting them back on. “Yeah, to I don’t know, explore? See the sights? Take photos? Not…” He gestures vaguely with his head. “Whatever the fuck you two got going on.”
There was a beat of silence, enough for a wave to crash onto shore. Then, “Hey, Sem. I think someone here is a lil jealous he wasn’t part of the fun.”
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Pangi looked over, Lukey was nodding his head. They both slowly stood up with a smile and walked to either side of Tertel.
