Work Text:
Dear Ochako,
I would write you a letter, but I can't. I would tell you all I feel, but I am already gone.
You're surrounded by flowers, but the petals on my grave have already died since the winter came.
I can not feel anymore, but the warmth your eyes carry still makes it feel like summer blooming in my heart everytime I look into them.
I wish mine would do the same if you could still see me.
I wish I could bring joy when you are sad, warm you in the cold, calm you in a storm of complicated emotions, if only I was here.
Maybe then you would not feel as empty. Maybe then you would see that the guilt you carry was only to keep me in memory instead of forgetting.
I am grateful. I will always be. For meeting you, for knowing you, for loving you.
I am grateful you let light into the shadows around me.
I am grateful that you saw me as a girl, never as a monster.
The emptiness in my heart was filled the day I died in your arms.
When you visit my grave, just know you're visiting me. I am here, even when you can't see me.
Maybe in another life we could love eachother until death do us part. I wish it lasted longer in this one.
In love, Himiko.
