Summary
Under any other circumstances, this would be a dream come true. It was the conclusion Saejima had come to many times in the weeks since he'd found himself aboard the Goromaru. Sailing crystal clear waters beneath cloudless skies, exploring a tropical archipelago seemingly untouched by human hands, grilling fresh fish every evening as the sun splashed below the horizon and the stars began to blink into view above. And, to top it off, doing it all with his kyodai by his side.
He spent a lot of time fighting to keep said 'other circumstances' out of his mind, and that night, as he headed towards the barracks after a long day on the mainland, he was nearly successful.
