   Summary

   Leo Valdez loved everything about Houston, but it seemed that Houston had decided he was too much (or, possibly, not quite enough) so he flees to a tiny, sleepy town in California called Crest Hill. At first, everything is perfect, he's living in an idyllic little town with his best friend doing a job he genuinely loves and building a previously under-developed appreciation for nature. But perfection comes at a cost, and a smile can only hide rot for so long before someone starts peeling the wallpaper in search of black mold. Like every other small town, Crest Hill has its secrets buried in the woods, and it is no stranger to monsters. But the people of this town are about to learn that no amount of smiles, wallpaper or shovels will protect them when a real monster comes to town.
