I haven’t joined a server of this game in a while. The last time I did was years ago, when I was much younger, when I had more free time. Now, I bear the burden of having more “serious” responsibilities (at least, according to society) on the plate set before me that I must prioritize. Servers of virtual art games must be set aside, because apparently such things aren’t for realistic means.
I had finished up some work for the day. Some friends were busy at the moment, so I needed to find solo leisurely activities. I was already on my laptop, so I figured, why not stay on it and find a game to play?
For a few minutes I was on the Gartic Phone site, but I thought that the platform’s quite boring while alone. Unfortunately, Gartic Phone didn’t seem to have any servers open to the public to join (at least on my end). I had to think hard on what to do.
As if some fairy godmother had flown down to bestow their blessings upon me, the idea of playing Skribbl.io occurred to me. That game had servers one could easily enter, and they would have multiple people playing already. Moreover, I have not played on Skribbl.io in ages, so this would be a fun opportunity to return.
With my drawing tablet and pressure pen ready, I entered the domain into my browser. I set up my avatar: An orange fellow with sleepy eyes and a neutral expression. Little did I know that when I would join the ongoing server, I would witness a love story that transcended time and space.
