Chapter Text
The dead of night.
Here, Flower King stands, deserted after the kidnapping of its owner…
Clink.
Clank.
Clink.
Clank.
…as the kidnapper returns, once more.
The figure lurches deliberately towards the stairs, each step resonating more than the last as they ascend.
Clink.
Clank.
Clink.
Clank.
They stand alone at the top, scanning the perimeter of the room. Even with only the dim hanging lights above, evidence of an earlier struggle was quite obvious. Bits of soil, papers strewn everywhere, the ripped sheets…
…but… that’s not important. They have bigger things to attend to.
Clink.
Clank.
Clink.
Clank.
The kidnapper idles next to the golden flower in the middle of the room… the “leader,” if you will. They glare into its glass enclosure, with eyes picking apart their prey.

“Seems like you still… don’t get it!”
“Nothing is stronger than…”
“...a… flower’s… dream…!”

Grabbing the container, their hand tenses.
“…”
They toss the protective glass aside, swiftly and decisively. With a crash, it shatters, scattering shards around the room.
“…What a joke.”
The figure reaches toward the vulnerable flower, clutching it in one hand. They grip it tighter and tighter with each passing second, hardly noticing the thorns digging deeper. It was worth it, they thought.
However, there was more to be done than engaging in such simple pleasantries.
In one quick motion, the interloper uproots the poor, naked plant from the soil it called home. Then, without a second thought, it falls back down, like a bird with a broken wing.
The figure scrapes through the dirt. Scraping… incessantly.
SCRAPE
SCRAPE
SCRAPE
SCRAPE
Yet… nothing. Nothing when there was supposed to be something. The two of them had agreed to leave the torn scraps there. So, that must mean…
“That… GIRL…”
Gritting their teeth, the kidnapper reached for whatever happened to be closest–that pesky golden flower.
“If he hadn’t stood in the way, even for just that brief amount of time… who does he think he is? Neither lightner nor darkner–just some useless flower, impulsive and stubborn…!”
Their breathing hastened.
Looking at the flower, the Knight decided to repay Flowery’s actions in kind.

The crack of dawn.
Here, a trash can stands outside Flower King, containing but one single thing…
BEEP
BEEP
BEEP
BEEP
The Hometown garbage disposal truck arrives, rusted from years of use. Many battered and neglected items lie in its garbage tank, beckoning out. Soon, another would join them.
Slowly, its mechanical arm latches onto the single trash can, raising it into the air.
“...I’m sorry, you six.”
The trash can tilts.
“...I’m sorry that I wasn’t strong enough.”
The battered golden flower inside begins to fall.
“...Not just for my sake, but yours as well…”
It drifts out of the can…
“I’m sorry that I was… nothing but a useless flower.”
…and into the tank.
“...Thanks for the memories, Gorey.”
It shuts.
