Chapter Text
Damian awakes to the feeling of soft kisses being peppered onto his cheeks, forehead, and nose.
The nest is warm and cozy, Daddy stacked it full of the fluffiest pillows and feather soft blankets. Damian contributed by bringing in his stuffed animals to cuddle with.
Damian was still a puppy, only 8 months old, and the baby of the family, far too young to have his own room yet.
He fell asleep each night with father’s arms wrapped around him, tucked perfectly against Daddy’s chest, the soft sound of his heartbeat lulling him into a tranquil state.
Daddy was the best to cuddle with. He was warm, but not too hot, with strong arms that made him feel safe and protected.
He knew Daddy would never let anything bad happen to him or any of his bubbas.
Daddy is a superhero.
Anytime a bully or bad guy comes around Daddy beats them up so bad they never even think of doing a crime again.
Daddy is huge.
There were stupid Alphas who said Omegas like Daddy should be tiny and delicate. Which is not only Omega-ist but also just objectively wrong.
Damian thought Daddy was a perfect Omega. He was loving, nurturing, and took the best care of them.
Daddy was very tall at 6 foot 10, covered in muscles, and weighed 300 pounds. He could kick anyone’s butt, and criminals were scared to death of him.
Not Damian.
He knew there was nothing in the entire world that could ever make him scared of Daddy. He was the safest, most gentle, loving Daddy in the entire world.
He didn’t raise his voice, or say mean things, the very thought of him being violent against them in anyway was the silliest thing Damian could ever imagine.
Damian was the puppy of the family, Daddy and his brothers gave him a million hugs and kisses every day. But affection didn’t go away with age in their home.
Dick was the oldest at 23 years old and Daddy still snuggled him and gave him kisses. Dick was an Omega too and loved any type of physical affection. Even though he was a grown up he would often cuddle in Daddy’s nest at night, just because. He smelled like a drop of honey in tea, very warm and sweet making everyone feel calm and cozy.
Jason was 21, and very clearly an alpha. He was big, tough, and radiated protection. He rejected the idea of being a toxic alpha, he was openly affectionate, in touch with his emotions, and loved reading romance novels. But when someone threatened him or their family he was the scariest thing you’ve ever seen. He’s ruthless and eliminates all threats easily. His scent was like rainwater on the side walk. Soothing and it made Damian a little sleepy.
Tim was 19 and a Beta, a bit smaller than his other brothers, but still perfect as can be. Tim was a brilliant detective and very smart, like Sherlock. But he wasn’t cold and emotionless like the story detective. Tim played games with Damian all the time, explained things patiently, and gave very good snuggles. Tim’s scent was coffee, no surprise there, with lots of vanilla to fight off the bitter scent. He smelled sweet and yummy, it always made Damian crave chocolates.
Daddy was an omega and taught them they were the most precious things in the world wide world. There’s nothing in the world Daddy loves more than his babies, even when he’s not there to protect them the boys are safe, because they can fight, he showed them how. Daddy smelled like strawberry shortcake and fancy suits. He ate the dessert so much it affected his pheromones.
Damian was a very good boy, he was polite, well behaved, and made the world’s best finger paintings. He loved his Daddy and big brothers more than anything else, even ice cream. And if any bad guys ever tried to hurt his family, he’d bite them until they cried. Damian was a puppy and smelled like warm sweet milk and lavender from his blanket. Alfred used a very fancy detergent to keep it soft.
Said blanket was currently snuggled against his cheek, soft and fluffy.
“Wakey wakey sweet boy.” Daddy coos softly peppering soft kisses to Damian’s cheeks and nose.
Kisses were the best way to wake up in the morning bar none.
Damian yawns blinking his eyes open, he slowly uncurls from bed and scotches closer to Daddy. He lifts Daddy’s night shirt and nuzzles under the fabric, snuggling close against Daddy’s warm skin.
Bruce laughs softly, so very fond of his clingy boy. They all stuck to him like velcro, not that he would ever dare complain. He was lucky enough to have 4 perfect boys to snuggle with and adore at all times.
Even thought 3 of them have already presented, they were always his cuddly little puppies.
“Good morning sweetheart. Did my baby have good dreams?” Bruce hums softly slowly standing up and gently bouncing Damian as he walks in slow circles around the room.
Daddy never rushed him to wake up, turning on all the lights to hurt his little eyes, talking too loud when he was still sleepy, or expected him to be up and moving right away.
Damian needed to be coxed and cuddled awake, allowed to slowly stretch and nuzzle, his eyes fluttering open as he slowly begins to face the world.
Daddy understood that.
The two of them had a special connection only shared between and Omega and their baby. They could communicate without words, just know what the other was thinking.
Other people held him awkwardly, and bounced too much making Damian dizzy and he would start to fuss. They thought his wines and trying to squirm away meant “do this more”
Tragic fools.
But Daddy knew just the right way to cradle Damian, his arms were bigger than Damian’s head, and yet the safest place on earth. He would put Damian in the perfect position so the baby could lightly turn his neck, and listen to Daddy’s heartbeat.
He would sit perfectly still in the bathtub with no splashes because Daddy wouldn’t scrub his skin too hard to make it hurt. He used the world’s softest cloth to gently brush away any dirt from outside.
Teachers would pinch too hard on Damian’s button nose when he had the sniffles, it burned and left his skin a light red.
Daddy used a silk soft handkerchief that was just for Damian, with a little yellow duckling on it. He didn’t pinch, just held it against Damian’s nose so he could blow the boogies out. Then when he was done got a boop on the nose that amused him.
Daddy carries him over to the changing table and lightly settles him down on the soft mattress with a buckle to keep him safe.
Daddy was smart like that. Sometimes Damian would like to wiggle and explore, the buckle helped him not tumble over.
Damian did not care for his lack of control over his bladder and bowls. It was quite annoying he couldn’t yet stop from reliving himself and had to stay in his own mess.
Thankfully it never lasted more than a mildly unpleasant minute because Daddy, Grandfather, or his brothers would assist and change him quickly.
Being cleaned was the part he enjoyed very much. A fresh fluffy diaper made of pure cotton, with lots of cloud soft baby powder sprinkled on, and changed into a darling outfit, made him feel like a new baby.
Daddy had the impressive ability to change Damian with ease, while also entertaining him to the point Damian hadn’t even realized any time has passed.
“Dami look, it’s Bunny, she says good morning~” Bruce holds up Damian’s stuffed bunny Butterscotch, named after of course the best Candy of all time.
Damian loved all his stuffies, and wouldn’t say it out loud to avoid any hurt feelings, but Butterscotch was his favorite fluffy friend.
She had soft yellow fur, two twin button eyes, a pretty blue dress made of cotton around her, and a perfect white bow between her soft ears.
Damian coos making grabby hands up at the stuffed bunny, politely asking for it.
“Bunner bunner.”
Bruce smiles adoringly and hands the small toy to Damian watching as the boy snuggles her against his cheek.
“Yes you love your bunny, give her big good morning hugs.”
Damian did, putting Butterscotch’s ear in his mouth, nibbling on it softly. She didn’t mind it, Damian was as very gentle so it didn’t hurt her.
“Oh baby, no no silly boy.” Daddy laughs softly as Damian looks up at him with big green eyes.
Bruce takes a pacifier from the dresser and gently guides Butterscotch’s ear out of Damian’s mouth. Using the light touch of his finger he guides the soft rubber into Damian’s mouth as a substitute.
“There, don’t you like your binky more than her ear?” Daddy coos softly as Damian begins to nibble on the pacifier. It was a very nice design. An eggshell white with a brown teddy bear on it.
Damian believed that anything became better when there were animals on it. His diapers, bottles, onesies, and little socks.
Daddy and his brothers thought so too.
At nighttime Daddy dressed in black pajamas with a mask, and big ears to make him look like a bat. It was supposed to make him look scary and strike fear into criminal hearts, but Damian thought Daddy looked more approachable and good for hugs.
“There we are, all done. Such a good boy baby, you sat very still for Daddy.” Bruce chirps unbuckling Damian and lifting him back into his arms with a smooch.
Damian babbles approvingly. As if to prove his point father had cleaned and dressed him without Damian even realizing. Which is especially impressive because Damian has a laser focused attention.
When his mind is set to something there is nothing that can break his concentration.
Damian looks down at his little toes, now dressed in a pair of socks with little doggies and giggles warmly kicking his legs.
Bruce laughs along, lightly squeezing one of Damian’s tiny feet. “Oh what cha got there angel face? Discovering your little toes?”
Damian squeals and flips himself upside down to push his foot right in Daddy’s face.
Once again Daddy understood immediately and starts nibbling on Damian’s foot. Making silly eating noises.
“Om nom nom. I’m gonna eat that little foot. So yummy.” Daddy smacks his lips nibbling and kissing over Damian’s sock, making the baby flail his arms happily.
Daddy was a comedic genius. The funniest man in the world…second only to Elmo.
Daddy walks them through the hallway, and Damian admires how decorated their walls are. Grandpa did all the cooking and cleaning, it must take a while to dust all the picture.
Grandpa talked funny and drank lots of tea, and for some reason everyone called him “Alfred.” But nicknames were pretty common in their home, so it wasn’t too strange.
There were pictures of all of them from the minute they were born, Daddy was obsessed with memorabilia. Each of them had their own section on the wall.
Dick had the most pictures and awards because he was the biggest brother and has been around the longest. He had lots of pictures from him at gymnastics smiling so bright it made the sun look dark, and 5 gold metals. His section had a bonus of his Mate Kori, with the two of them on romantic dates and being in love.
Jason was the second oldest, and had a decent amount of pictures, he was rather photogenic, but out of all the brothers had the most awards. Jason was in the chess club, speech and debate, and even won a prize for best original story when he was in school. He was also in book club, they didn’t give out awards, but if they did Jason would have first place.
Tim was very good taking pictures, his hair was styled to perfection in a nice suit, and had Daddy retake the picture until it was perfect. Tim had plenty of science fair ribbons and perfect A pluses but what was most proudly displayed were his figurines. He made his own miniature houses and buildings, it took a lot of patience.
Damian was still pretty new to the family, he didn’t have a first day of kindergarten through first day of 12th grade yet. But he did have finger paintings, crayon drawings, finger paintings, pretty rocks he brought home, and finger paintings. He was very good at finger paintings. And not too long from now he would have a picture of his 1st birthday.
Then he would be a grown up too and go out to fight the bad guys with Daddy and big brothers.
Waiting for them at the bottom of the stairs is a beautiful breakfast laid out on the table. Grandpa was also a very good baker, he made all the meals and Damian was sure it tasted nice, but nothing could be better than Daddy’s cooking.
His bottle each morning prepared in a baby blue container, with a teddy bear floating in a space suit, and the lid was shaped to resemble bunnies ears.
Dick, Jason, and Tim sit around the mahogany table, Grandpa Alfred standing to the side with a kettle of coffee ready pouring into Daddy’s favorite mug.
“Morning boys.” Bruce murmurs softly, earning a chorus from his elder children.
Dick speaks with a mouthful of blueberry pancake “Good morning Daddy!”
Jason grunts, slowly chewing some extra crispy bacon. “Sup.”
Tim waves half heartedly, stretching in his chair “Morning papa.”
Damian wiggles in Bruce’s arms, bouncing up and down wanting to greet his brothers as well. He did not discriminate when it came to who had the honor of holding him. As long as he wasn’t left on the floor like a peasant.
“Alright baby alright, say good morning to your bubas. Daddy will go make your bottle.” Bruce laughs softly and hands Damian over to Tim.
Tim smiles softly holding Damian in his lap, bouncing gently with his knee. Damian looked up at his elder brother and smiled back, placing two tiny hands on Tim’s cheeks.
“Timma timma.” He babbles playing with the pretty necklace around Tim’s neck. It was shiny, and therefore belongs to him.
“Morning to you too little guy.” Tim hums pressing a kiss to Damian’s forehead. His brothers were all adequate at showing affection. Damian appreciated their constant worship of him, as deserved, and tried to mimic it.
He stands on his legs and presses a kiss to Tim’s cheek in equal affection. Then another, and soon he’s lost himself and is trying to devour Tim’s face. Not in a cannibalistic manner, it’s just that sometimes there was so much love in his tiny body he ended up committing small acts of violence.
“Mh. Mhn muh.” Damian hums his jaw slightly unhinged as he leaves big open mouth kisses on Tim’s face, sucking on it like a vacuum.
“Uh…D-Dami, I love your kisses, ow…but gentle…ack! Gentle kisses for bubba. Please…” Tim giggles, the smothering affection too adorable to be upset with.
Jason’s big hands, which seem to be even bigger than Damian’s whole body, gently wrap around him and pry him away from Tim.
“Alright ya little honey badger. You eat food, not your brothers.” The family’s alpha murmurs softly, but there’s no real scolding in his tone. Damian was never in trouble, he’s the best boy and never bad.
Jason was secretly Damian’s favorite to cuddle with. His older brother was so giant and stacked with muscles it made Damian feel like he was just a tiny baby…well more so than he already was.
“Jay. Jay.” Damian coos patting his tiny hands on Jason’s cheek affectionately.
Jason nuzzles Damian’s neck, making exaggerated sniffs earning a happy squeal from Damian at the ticklish feeling.
“Aah!”
Jason groans rubbing his nose against Damian’s hair affectionately.
“Goddamn that puppy smell is so good. Better than coke.”
Bruce pops his head out from the kitchen eyes narrowed.
Jason grins blowing a raspberry on Damian’s cheek and earning a squeal. “Cola. He smells better than Coca Cola.”
“Mm-hmm.” Bruce hums going back into the kitchen, fixing Damian’s bottle.
“I like your new neck roll turtle neck little man. Jason says lightly bouncing Damian.
Tim looks at Damian, and to Jason. “He’s not wearing a turtle neck.”
“Oh those are his actual neck rolls. Pops got to put you on a diet buddy, you’re getting fat.” He murmurs tickling Damian’s tummy.
Holy jelly belly Batman.
Damian giggles, his brothers understood the perfect intensity and amount to tickle him, never making him uncomfortable.
“Jason Wayne! Dami is not fat.” Dick flicks Jason’s ear and snatches Damian from his arms, cradling the pup gently.
“Dickie…” Damian coos snuggling against Dick’s soft chest. Even though he was a boy Dick had big breasts like a lady. Very good pillows to sleep on. They probably had milk too.
But Damian preferred his bottles.
“He is objectively big as hell. What did the waitress at McKenzie River say last week?” Jason says calmly taking a bite of his third stack of pancakes. He was no tiny thing either, but his weight was all muscle, Damian was just a dough ball.
Dick looks down, slowly patting Damian’s back. “She said…Damian was a very happy looking…toddler. But so what?”
“So he is eight months with the weight of a 2 year old. He. Is. Fat.” Jason murmurs pointing his fork.
“He’s not fat. He HAS fat, he’s a baby. Babies are supposed to be a tiny bit chubby, it’s healthy. Shows he’s well fed.” Dick says his nose pointed up.
“Jay does have a point. Dami’s a chunky monkey.” Bruce says shaking the bottle as he walks back into the dinning room.
“Ba ba! Baba!” Damian squeals climbing up Dick’s shoulder to his bottle. He hasn’t eaten since 5 am. It’s been two whole hours. He’s wasting away.
Dick settles Damian down into his high chair while Bruce hands Damian his bottle. The baby begins to suckle on the rubber nipple happily, his legs swinging.
“That’s alright though. Daddy likes you chubby.” Bruce chirps kissing Damian’s fat cheek. Damian coos suckling from the bottle with his eyes closed in bliss.
The rich cream melts on his tongue, with a hint of vanilla swirled in. It was tenderly warmed to the ideal temperature, in the microwave for exactly 1 minute and 14 seconds. By the time Daddy walked the distance of kitchen to Damian’s high chair it had cooled just enough.
Delightful as always. No notes. A five star chef would be shamed in the face of his Daddy’s culinary expertise.
Damian watches as his family sits down to eat their own breakfast.
Perfectly golden fluffy pancakes that were smooth as polished stone, bacon crispy each prepared with the grease drained, French folded omelet without so much as a tear, orange juice squeezed that morning, and coffee from Lavazza Super Crema.
Damian felt bad they had to choke down that slop. Meanwhile he was given rich nourishment provided by the heavens themselves.
He takes the bottle out of his mouth with a ‘pop’ and holds it with two tiny hands out to Bruce.
“Baba.” He coos softly.
A chorus of ‘awws’ comes from the table all looking to him with adoration at the sweet gesture. Granted, Damian could be watching paint dry and they would have nearly the same reaction.
The scents of ‘Fondness, love, cherishing’ fill the room making Damian’s little nose scrunch, taking in the sweet smells.
“Oh puppy that’s so adorable. Are you trying to share your milkies with Daddy?” Dick coos softly placing a hand over his heart with shiny eyes.
“Baba.” Damian murmurs confirming. Yes he was indeed trying to share.
Bruce tickles under Damian’s chin with a soft smile. “Thank you baby that’s the sweetest offer. But Daddy’s gonna have coffee and eggs. Your bottles all for you to fill up that little tummy.”
Damian giggles warmly, and accepts the answer. He was certainly not blindly obedient, he was a baby of his own thoughts and feelings. But Daddy had never led him astray once in all his months.
Chewing electrical chords wasn’t good for teething. A carrot was much better.
It wasn’t necessary to smack Daddy as hard as possible to wake him up. Just a soft pat worked just as well.
And he didn’t have to throw his plate and shatter it against the wall because his banana mush was chunky. It tasted exactly the same.
So his judgement is the one Damian trusts the most, more than anyone else’s.
Once breakfast is finished with Damian is lifted up from his high chair and settled into Bruce’s arms, being patted on the tushy lightly in a soothing manner.
If anyone other than his family gave the so called “bum pats” they would die. There would be torture first, then they would die.
He didn’t care for strangers overall to be honest. Especially ones that seem to think they have the right to grab and poke him like a fidget toy.
He couldn’t quite pronounce slurs correctly yet, so his outrage came across as adorable babbling.
Thankfully Daddy could always sense ‘Discomfort, stop, bad touch’ through their bond.
Bruce would calmly explain that if the person touching Damian enjoyed eating solid food rather than through a straw while living in a full body cast, respecting boundaries was a good idea.
Once Daddy beared his teeth and snarled at a man, it was the single most glorious thing Damian had ever seen.
They were in the park, Damian in his baby carrier, happily snuggled against Bruce’s chest enjoying the sunshine on his face.
Some idiot saw a fridge sized man with his pup and thought he would be an appropriate robbing victim. The man’s foolish decisions only escalated when he pointed a gun at Damian.
Perhaps the most pathetic act he has had the displeasure of witnessing.
And oh dear…Daddy’s scent tainted. His strawberry shortcake sweetness became burnt and chalky, like they were left in the oven for hours too long and caught fire.
He felt through their bond ‘danger, protect pup, defend, remove threat.’
Damian felt the force of Daddy thrashing forward, he could hear the snarl starting deep in his chest before it rose to the throat and tore out of him as a dark warning.
As Damian looked up he saw a face much more scary than when Daddy was in his dark mask.
His eyes were laser focused, blue eyes looking black as darkness flooded over them, his face tight and tense, veins formed, and his fangs were glistening with saliva, the sharp tips were a snowy white and capable of ripping apart leather. Daddy prided himself on taking good care of his fangs.
Daddy was not a man that bluffed, except in uno. He was giving the man one chance to back all the way off, or he would tear the little worm apart piece by piece, slowly and intimate, until his insides were on the outsides.
The man paled lighter than the moon. All that confidence and dominance that he never had to begin with, drained and replaced with fear. He ran away, hopefully with a lesson learned.
Damian yipped after him with soft ‘arf arf’s so Daddy knew he had his back. Damian believed it was just as much the puppies responsibility to protect as much as the parent.
If Daddy was tearing open the man’s neck, Damian would bite his leg.
Daddy had kissed his forehead praising him for being so fearless, the sweet scent of strawberry shortcake returning with ‘proud, fondness, love’ moving through the air.
Other people might be concerned seeing their parent acting aggressively.
But Damian didn’t see the Daddy that’s currently nuzzling his nose while cooing, as an opposite to the Daddy that once pounced on an Alpha attempting to take Damian out of the shopping cart while his back was turned.
While Daddy slammed the refrigerator door on the man’s head, he howled calling for support. It was a “danger, help, defend pup” howl and the elder brothers came running.
Daddy himself could have easily defeated the man in a humiliating manner, but as in all families, if you mess with one member you mess with the whole pack.
Damian included.
He threw his bottle on the man’s face, making sure to hit the nose.
Himself, his brothers, and Daddy were not lustful for blood by nature, their fangs only bared in defense and protection. Damian found it beautiful, not one “good” side and another “bad” side. But unison.
There was a time to crush bones into dust, bite skin off, pull out hair, and there was a time to snuggle, play wrestle, and scent.
This was one of the latter times.
Bruce’s wrist gently rubs soft circles onto Damian’s head, marking him with his scent, showing any outsider that he belonged to a family.
One smell told everyone “Fuck off. If you like your lungs on the inside.”
Damian is lifted up in the air, his head and back supported by Bruce’s large hands cradling him with tenderness.
“It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the incredible flying Robin~” Daddy coos holding Damian up and guiding him through the air.
Damian stretches his little hands out, legs straight as he flies around the room, looking down at his furniture and toys.
He slowly comes down, and settles onto the nest, a fluffy black blanket beneath him.
Daddy kisses his forehead. “And a crash landing. Whoa…that was a close one.”
Damian coos softly watching and Daddy goes to collect his wardrobe for the day.
Daddy was a master of fashion. He knew not to create outfits that no one else would even consider. Some mean lady said Bruce Wayne is only seen as handsome because he wears nice suits. Daddy did his next photo shoot in a garbage bag. It sold 20 million copies in a week.
From the closet Bruce takes out a white cotton onesie with a picture of a red strawberry on it that reads in cursive “Berry Cute.” Appropriate for him.
Next were a pair of simple white socks and tiny red shoes, even if he couldn’t walk yet styling was important.
“Is the hat too much?” Bruce murmurs softly placing a strawberry hat on Damian’s head.
Damian didn’t think so. If you’re going to be eccentric it’s best to commit to the bit. Besides he looked amazing in virtually everything.
“Nah. You look adorable.” Bruce hums scooping Damian back up and walking towards the mirror to let Damian see his reflection.
Damian nods satisfied. He did indeed look adorable, perfect, stunning. Truly he was blessed with perfect genetics. His fluffy black hair matched Daddy’s, with the same nose, and he’s seen baby pictures of Daddy, they look exactly the same.
…except for his skin. And eyes. Those belonged to someone else. Damian wasn’t naive. He knew he had a mother out there somewhere. He also knew that if she wasn’t in his life there was a good reason for it.
Truth be told his curiosity to know his second parent was not enough to explore. He had his Daddy, 3 wonderful brothers, and grandfather. He was safe and loved with his Pack.
He didn’t require anything more.
“My little berry-baby.” Bruce hums pressing a warm kiss to Damian’s cheek. Damian smiles leaning into his father’s affection. Other people kissed and hugged him like a toy, as if they were entitled to touch him however they wanted because he was adorable and squishy.
Like a manatee.
But Daddy and his brothers gave him cuddles and kisses with love and respect. Like paying tribute to him through affection. As he deserved.
Damian is placed onto the nest, and grabs Butterscotch to snuggle, while Daddy makes his way around the room collecting things.
He takes down Damian’s diaper bag from the closet and begins packing it. It was very spacious with lots of pockets and sleeves. The material was a soft baby blue with ruffles. And sewn on pictures of Whinny The Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore.
Daddy always believed it was best to be over prepared than underprepared.
The very planning father was currently packing the bag with bottles, formula, toys, diapers, wipes, powder, cream, extra onesies, swim diaper, swim suit, changing mat, cloth, bib, sippy cup, blanket, tiny pillow, pacifier, fan, soft foods with tiny spoon, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, first aid kit, playmat, books, music box, baby carrier, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Bruce manages to zip the bag closed, panting heavily, hair now messy with a slightly pink face.
“There…that’s everything…I fucking hope.” He huffs out slinging it over his shoulder and scooping Damian up into his free arm.
“Are you holding onto Butterscotch real tight pumpkin pie?”
Damian wraps both arms around Butterscotch and places his chin over her little head. He nods in confirmation giving a confident “Mh.”
“Alright, then we are out the door!” Daddy says walking them down the stairs and grabbing his keys to one of the cars. He would figure out which one when they got to the lot.
Halfway down the stairs Daddy turns around, walks back into the bedroom, and places Damian in the playpen with a few blocks.
“…right after I get dressed.”
