Though, when she almost gets hit with a Ancient Arrow, known for vaporizing monsters and people alike, she quickly teleports back to the Hideout, into the room of the one person who knows how to handle her.

Blademaster Tael.

From Kogi's POV

Work Text:

I waited in the trees, my knives in hand, when the Hero stepped into view.

I quickly teleported in front of him, laughing.

"Begone, enemy of my master!" I shouted, lunging at him with my knives.

He quickly sidestepped, and pulled out his bow, nocking an Ancient Arrow.

I barely dodged the arrow when he fired it, then teleported away, back to the Hideout.

I reappeared in a bedroom. Their bedroom. I sunk to the floor, shaking.

I almost died.

There wouldn't even have been a body if the Hero had succeeded.

I struggled to breathe, panic rising in me, when the door open, and they walked in.

Tael.

They immediately rushed over, pulling off their mask, then pulling mine off.

"Kogi. Kogi, what happened? Talk to me." They said, rubbing my arms.

"I-i tried to fight the H-hero, a-and he pulled out an A-Ancient Arrow." I said, and started sobbing. Tael froze, then picked me up, holding me close to their chest.

I buried my face into the fabric around their neck. They carefully pulled my hood off my head, then pulled their own off.

"You won't ever have to fight him ever again, ok? From now go, I'll make sure you don't have to fight him." They said, then they lifted my chin up and kissed me.

I froze, startled.

Sure, we had kissed countless times before, usually to burn off pent up energy, but this...

This was soft. Comforting.

I leaned in, opening my mouth, allowing them more access. They moved slowly, until I was being held against the wall.

They were being so gentle with me. I hugged them, my eyes fluttering shut as we kissed.

Eventually, they pulled away.

"Tael..." I whispered, grabbing their uniform.

"Yes?" They asked.

"C-can I sleep here tonight?" I asked. They smiled, and carried me over to their bed, lying me down on the sheets.

"Do you want me to go get you some tea?" They asked. I nodded.

"Yes please." I whispered, and they kissed my forehead before slipping out to go make tea.

I sat up, slipping under the warm blankets.

Maybe I should ask them if our relationship was official.

I curled up under the blankets, and started to wait for Tael to return with the tea.
