Work Text:
It was a very hot summer day at camp half-blood
Which meant that Will, being the headchief of the Apollo cabin, had spent his whole morning going around camp and giving around water bottles as well as dealing with cases of fainting due to the heat.
And since it was especially sunny today too (thanks dad) it led to a wide variety of sunburns on careless campers
He had finally been replaced by one of his sibling at the infirmary and he was now trying to spend a calm afternoon with his boyfriend at the lake.
But it hasn't been going so well...
As much a he loved Nico di Angelo to the bone, when regressed, the son of Hades could be as stubborn as a drakon.
So stubborn for the smallest things.
His little boy was wearing a pair of dark grey swim-shorts with the cutest little bat pattern all over it, it would be even cuter if he wasn't pouting like his life depended on it.
He has been clearly regressed and fighting him on getting sunscreen on for the last ten minutes and Will was not having it anymore.
"I will not repeat myself starlight, you are NOT going into the water until you've put at least a good layer of sunscreen on. It's non negociable." Will scolded Nico, using his stern caregiver voice he keeps for when his little is misbehaving.
Nico grumbled at that, too low for Will to hear but he was sure none of what he said were nice words. His dark-haired boyfriend was whining and stomping his feet around and Will could feel the headache building up behind his eyes.
He was about to lecture him once again on the importance of good protection during sunny days when he was cut short by a few camper running toward the both of them at the edge of the lake.
The three demi-gods that Will remembered being of the Ares cabin were trying to explain on a panicked tone that two of their siblings got pretty badly injured in the arena and they needed a healer right now, it was hard to evaluate the situation when all of them were trying to speak at the same time.
"Alright, Alright..." Will turned towards his still very much regressed boyfriend. "You can go swim in the lake but you stay where you can touch the bottom with your feet, that's the limit. And you put some sunscreen on before, I'm serious babyboy."
Nico eagerly nodded at his worried caregiver, watching as Will fast walked to the arena followed closely behind by the three other campers.

After a whole hour of patching up the two demi-gods and trying to untangle the initial situation which had just been a quarrel about some stupid thing, Will was finally done and was now heading back towards the lake.
He swipped off the sweat on his forehead with the back of his hand and squinted his eyes, seeing a familiar figure with dark hair playing around in the water.
But instead of the pasty white color Nico's skin should be, it was instead a fierce, vivid red that adorned the top of his shoulders and his cheekbones.
In other words some very, very deep sunburns.
Great.
"Nico di Angelo ! You get out of the water right this instant young man !" Will shouted, loud enought to be heard in a five mile radius.
He could see the slight blush getting on Nico's already red face as a few campers around the lake looked at the both of them, intrigued by the sound.
With the slightly guilty look plastered all over his face, Will was pretty sure his boyfriend knew why he was in trouble.
The little quickly made his way toward his very much unbappy caregiver, water droplets still clinging to his hair and body as he slightly shivered after getting out of the lake.
Will closed the distance between the two of them since Nico was dragging his feet while pouting. He took his boyfriend's forearm and started leading him to the Hades cabin since it was closer than his own.
The little fussed during the whole walk between the cabins and the lake, trying to keep the pace with a slightly annoyed Will.
As they reached the their destination, the dark-haired boy was already completly dry even after such a short walk under the sun.
Will pushed the doors open, Nico still whining but quickly shushed as a stern tap landed on the back of his swim short, the little jolt making him enter in the dark room of the cabin.
"You are going to go sit on your bed and you are going to stay there, I am going to go get some cream for you sunburns in the infirmary"
Will told him as he picked the little up and set him down on the bed, pushing one of his many pacifiers that was laying around between his lips when he started to fuss again.
"You better be in this exact spot when I come back Nico di Angelo, or I can promise you that you'll be getting a time out."
And on that Will left his still pouty little unattended for approximatly five minutes. Enought time to go to his own cabin, get bandages and cream, tell his younger siblings to hydrate and come back.
The dried grass was crackling under his sandals, the heat of the burning sun following him as he ran from one cabin to another.
Summer really was his least favorite season.
He quickly made his way in the dark entry, closing the door to not let any heat inside. To Will's contentement, Nico was still sitting exactly where he set him, lazily sucking on his pacifier with a more relaxed look on his face.
It seemed like he calmed down which was good, it didn't meant that he was out of trouble though.
Will set the bandages next to where his babyboy was sitting and started spreading the cream on his sunburns, kneading it into his skin with talented fingers.
"I asked you one thing before leaving to help in the arena sweetheart" Will started, giving a disapproving stare to Nico was was muffling behind his paci.
"I asked you one thing and you didn't do it, I know you're feeling small but I also know that you understood when I told you to put sunscreen on."
The little didn't respond to that, his nose crinkled as a sign of pouting but otherwhise it seemed like Will was finally getting the message throught him
He quickly wrapped his arms with bandages to let the cream settle in for a few hours.
Will rubbed Nico's back in small circles while his other hand was rummaging under the bed, finally pulling out of grey pastel box full of plushies and other toys.
"Now are you ready to be good ?" He asked while handing him his favorite crow plushie. "Because Mr.feathers would really want to play with you but he doesn't like little boys who don't listen."
Nico made a babbling sound behind his paci and grabbed the plush crow, cuddling it close to his chest.
It didn't took long for the little to fall asleep after that, the excitement of the afternoon crashing down to turn into a very needed nap.
It meant that Will had some time to settle down, finally able to relax from all this stress.
Until one of the camper entered in the cabin, telling him that there was a whole group of demi-gods who passed out from the heat near the archieryon a panicked tone. Coming in while making some much noise that it woke up Nico.
Summer was really Will's least favorite season.
