Black and White is the new trend

Summary:

Bruce Wayne has suddenly been experiencing memory loss, waking up with injuries, new items, things he doesn’t remember doing but did. Will Bruce figure out he’s apart of a DID system?

I’m sorry I’m bad at descriptions and writing but I really wanted to do this idea. I’m also sorry if it’s rushed I have no idea what I’m doing, I’ll try make the next chapters longer and easier to understand!

Notes:

I’m sorry if this doesn’t make sense! I’m not a good writer but the idea of Bruce Wayne and Marc Spector being the same person interested me. If you have any ideas for how this fic should go please comment your ideas!

I’m sorry this first chapter is so short I didn’t know how to start it off!

Work Text:

Bruce isn’t new to concussions, headaches, stitches and anything else that would scare most. However he is new to waking up in bed injured with no idea how it happened.

Rolling onto his left side, pressing the hand of the arm not pressed against his bed down beside his shoulder and pushing up with his left arm. Finally sitting up at the edge of his bed Bruce slowly pulls the bottom of his black tank top, careful to not jostle the wound he doesn’t recall getting. Once the top is out of the way he finally gets a good look of the bandages which are not too tight but secure. Slowly unwrapping the bandages to get a look of the unknown wound reveals stitches that aren’t the best or neat like Alfred’s but do the job well keep the slash closed. Assuming by how it’s not too deep that it was just a light slash from a knife, a lucky hit. Bruce’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he took in the wound, it’s taken care of and definitely new.

While wrapping the bandages back around the wound Bruce takes a moment to go through everything that happened recently to try find any reasonable explanation for how he got injured when he didn’t even patrol last night. Rising to his feet and heading to the door so he can get to the Batcave and figure out what happened by checking any footage from over the city. His steps are measured and controlled like usually, though it’s more than usual as he can’t help but be concerned and cautious. As he makes his way through the manor he doesn’t come across any of his kids or Alfred which for once he’s thankful for as he doesn’t want them to see him in this state, especially when whatever happened to cause him to not remember last night, he doesn’t want to scare them.

Hours of investigating by using last night footage from all over the city doesn’t end up helping him much in figuring out what went down. He can only find glimpses of himself in some cameras near alleyways, though he’s not in his Batman uniform nor is he dressed in a suit like usual. In the recordings he’s dressed in jeans, a dark blue jumper, old trainers and a baseball cap hiding most of his face. If Bruce wasn’t who he was, the world’s greatest detective and very observant he likely wouldn’t even noticed it was him with how easy he blends into the crowds in the footage. He doesn’t seem to be going anywhere but rather exploring and staying hidden in the shadows or crowds of people. The last sighting he can find is him entering an alleyway and then that’s all. He doesn’t see him leaving it or walking anywhere else.

Rubbing the bridge of his nose Bruce lets out a sigh before letting out of a sigh as he leans back in his chair. Creating a folder which he labels something he knows his kids and other people in his family won’t look through, especially since he’s going to hide it, he puts all the footage of him last night he found and starts writing down why he started this investigation and the information he currently knows. He hasn’t gotten anywhere just yet but at least he’s found something. Rising from his seat and heading upstairs to his office Bruce couldn’t help but watch out for everything, he’s usually paranoid but this incident has made him more paranoid than usual especially since Alfred hasn’t found him to nag him about not resting while injured and Alfred usually knows every wound so if he didn’t know Bruce was injured then something was definitely up. Alfred usually finds everything out, whether it’s because he knows when people are lying or has learned the hints in Bruce and his kids so well that they can’t fake being fine.

Sitting down at his office desk he slowly lets himself relax slightly, he’s home, he feels fine except for his injury and some tiredness but that’s nothing new as he’s usually injured and barely sleeps. Grabbing some files and a pen Bruce begins working on the paperwork for Wayne Industries he’s been neglecting for his work as Batman. It doesn’t take long for him to be adsorbed into the work, only looking up when Alfred walks in with tea rather than coffee, likely because he knows Bruce is never getting enough sleep. Offering Alfred a nod before taking the drink, his deep voice lace with a hint of tiredness, one he can’t hide unlike usually. “Thank you, Alfred.” Bruce’s gaze follows Alfred as he speaks while leaving. “Of course, Master Bruce.”
