Atsumu watched Osamu interact with Hinata with a puzzled look on his face. He had never seen his twin with such a fond look on his face before. His twin seemed to be hanging on every word that Hinata was whispering to him. It was like they were in their own little world and not surrounded by people in Onigiri Miya.
Now that Atsumu thought about it, Osamu would always give his full attention to Hinata whenever he saw them together.
Were they dating? Osamu never mentioned it, but it would make sense. Osamu probably thought he would make a big deal about it because Hinata was his teammate, which was fair. Atsumu knew he could be dramatic at times, but watching his twin laugh at something Hinata said made him smile. Atsumu was relieved that Osamu found someone who made him happy, just like how Omi made him feel.
Atsumu knew how much Osamu worked to make his restaurant successful. He never had time to date and would turn down most reunion dinners with their old school teammates. No one held it against him because they all knew how much his dream of owning his own restaurant meant to him. Thankfully, now that Osamu owned his own restaurant, any reunions were held at said restaurant.
Now that Atsumu thought about it, he doesn't know why he never thought about Hinata as a potential partner for his Osamu before. The ray of sunshine was obviously the perfect person for his twin. Hinata knew the importance of hard work, but also knew when it was time to rest and not overwork yourself. Hinata would be that anchor that Osamu needed in his life.
It was when Atsumu saw the slight blush on his twin's cheeks that he couldn't contain himself. He practically skipped towards the two, wrapped his arms around them both. "I know yer keeping it a secret, but I'm so happy yer datin'," Atsumu admitted.
"D-dating?" stuttered Hinata as he failed to pull himself away from Atsumu. He had no idea what his teammate was on about.
"Tsumu, what the hell?" snapped Osamu.
Atsumu pouted and pulled them closer together. "Ya don't need ta lie to me. It's pretty obvious," he whispered. He just wanted them to know that they had his blessing and didn't need to hide their relationship any longer.
Osamu glared Atsumu. "I don't know what's goin' through yer head, but why would ya think Hinata-kun would want ta date me?"
Before Atsumu could answer, Hinata interjected, "Why wouldn't I?" He sounded offended at the thought that he wouldn't date Osamu, but it was only Atsumu who picked up on that.
"Hinata-kun, ya don't need ta entertain him," Osamu told him. Atsumu was taking a joke too far, and he was going to make sure he regretted it the moment Hinata left. All free food privileges were being revoked. He couldn't believe his twin would attempt to ruin his friendship with the redhead.
"But it's the truth, Osamu-san. Like, who wouldn't want to date you?" Hinata knew that Osamu was way out of his league, but that didn't stop him from dreaming about being in a relationship with the man.
Osamu blushed as he asked, "Ya would go on a date with me?"
Atsumu slowly backed away from them. He didn't want to think about how he nearly messed things up between them. He seriously thought they were already dating.
"Of course, I would," Hinata beamed.
"If yer free sometime this weekend…" Osamu trailed off. His nerves were getting the better of him, even though Hinata already agreed.
Hinata grabbed a hold of Osamu's hands. "Yes," he said excitedly. He never thought it would be possible that Osamu would have any interest in dating him.
"Good. That's good." Osamu felt like his heart was going to beat out of his chest from how fast it was beating. It didn't feel real that he got a date with Hinata. He hated to admit it, but he was definitely going to have to think of a way to thank Atsumu for this.
Atsumu had to stop himself from laughing at how awkward his twin was being. He would be sure to tease him about it later. He had to get payback for all the times he teased him about Sakusa.
"I thought they were dating, too," Bokuto said as Atsumu sat down next to him.
Atsumu couldn't contain his laughter any longer when his other teammates all chimed in agreement. All were surprised to find out that Hinata and Osamu hadn't been in a relationship all this time. Atsumu glanced over at the two and was glad to see the awkwardness between them was gone and that they were back to being in their own little world. Completely oblivious to the fact that their friends and even some of the customers were talking about them.
