This was the first time Kageyama realized he wanted to kiss Hinata. When Hinata didn’t hesitate to come to his side and defend him even when it could’ve been his fault. He didn’t question him or tease him for being a jerk like usual and assume he was the one that started everything from being a jackass, no.. he stood by him. He stood up to Tsukishima of all people at that, although Hinata had always done that. He had never been afraid to argue with the salty blonde, but what made this time different was the fact it wasn’t to defend himself but to defend Kageyama, someone who could defend himself.
Tsukishima just nonchalantly shrugged and walked away, Yamaguchi following suit.
“You didn’t have to do that, you dumbass.” Kageyama didn’t look at him, couldn’t. If he did he would’ve ended up crossing boundaries he shouldn’t and kiss him right then and there.
“Well too bad, I did!” Hinata showed no regard for the taller’s expression of annoyance. “You shouldn’t let saltyshima get under your skin, Bakayama. He always does this.”
