Work Text:
It's a lazy Sunday.
Will always wakes up late and Hannibal early but on Sundays they sometimes don't get out of bed till after ten.
He feels Hannibal kiss his cheek, the low groan as he tries to turn making Will chuckle, and he turns for him.
"Good morning, Old Man."
Hannibal looks tired, as he should since they were up late reading the 'Hannigram 20th Anniversary' page on TattleCrime , and he touches his face smiling tiredly.
"I am not old," Hannibal says, "Just...."
"Seasoned? Wait, is that a cannibal joke? I think maybe after all this time..."
Hannibal kisses him then, though there's little heat in it, just a touch that makes him warm like always and when he pulls Hannibal to his chest he kisses his forehead. "Will."
"Go back to sleep, I'll be here."
He feels him settle, his weight a comfort, and his whisper of, "I love you," makes Will whisper, "I love you," back.
Will turns then, arm at his neck, feels more tired than he should watching him, and he knows the precise moment when Hannibal's heart stops beating.
Tears sting his eyes as he sits there, breath coming in gasps, and he presses his lips to Hannibal's forehead whispering, "Je t'aime," closing his eyes as he falls face first onto Hannibal's chest with tears running down his face, "I can't," he whispers, his voice shaking, "I can't."
He remembers the first time they met then, how much he'd hated Hannibal's smug speech, and even the night he thought he'd lost him forever bleeding out on the floor in the kitchen he'd only seen pictures of in the last years.
Will feels hands tight on him then, his eyes coming open, and he looks up to see Hannibal's frown touching his graying hair. "Will?"
"I thought...for a second I...."
Hannibal leans in and kisses him deeply, hungrily, in ways he hasn't in years, and when they pull apart Will can hardly see through his tears as he smiles.
"I told you I couldn't live without you."
His smile down at Will makes Will's smile widen, and he whispers, "I wouldn't have it any other way, Mylimasis. I.....the afterlife would be so lonely without you."
Will watches Hannibal stand then, the years falling off his face, and when he comes around to hold out a hand the minute Will takes it, he feels young again.
Hannibal touches his face.
"I do believe you were even more handsome older, but....your beauty at this age...."
Will grins, kissing him, and he takes his hand practically running to the study where music is already playing. "Dance with me?"
Hannibal pulls him into his arms and smiles as tear falls down his cheek.
"Always."
They begin to dance, lost in it, and in the next room the cold bodies cling to each other, later found holding on so tight it's like they can't be separated.
Yet they keep on dancing....and never let go.
