Summary
It's a bleak reality for bookshops. The Classics are pushed to the margins. Contemporary romance is suffering a slow, visceral poisoning and Sophie Baek is having none of it. She's leading a very slow effort in bringing "it" all back, not knowing what "it" is supposed to be or where to start exactly. Love simply isn't enough and no one has any patience for it, she deems.
Beatrice Bridgerton on the other hand is smitten with her, which was saying something, considering she was smitten with people.. only sometimes. Her efforts are futile just as well. Sophie's not easily impressed, having read (and managed) books with wonderful worlds, far greater than what reality could provide her with. Fortunately for her, Beatrice is willing to try very hard, even going as far as to make the imagined possible.
