Even with my Sad Heart

Summary:

You've never wanted anything as badly as you want Shoyo.

Notes:

Hello, so this was actually a short vent fic I wrote last year. I wasn't sure about posting it, but why not? Don't ask who I was in the relationship because I'll just cry lol.

This is written with male reader in mind, but it can also be read as gender neutral reader. It doesn't matter, just know it's gay.

Work Text:

Shoyo's hair is soft beneath your fingers.

Your alarm will go off in 15 minutes, but you can't sleep. There's a beautiful boy next to you, and you care barely see him in the lamp light streaming through the closed blinds, but you don't want to look away. Maybe it's the fear of closing your eyes and he'll be gone.

Shoyo tells you how he's yours. He'll always be yours, even if for some reason you part. He loves you as much as you love him.

But does he really? Does he ever wake up in the morning to stare at you as his chest hurts because he wants.

You want this moment to never end. You want him with you forever. You want to memorize what his deep breathing sounds like so it can live in your chest, filling you to the brim. You let yourself follow his breathing and sync up with him like you want to always be.

You hope he doesn't feel like this, because it's miserable at times to want someone this much.

It doesn't even make sense to want him this badly when you have him. He eats dinner with you every night before falling asleep first in your shared bed.

You brush your teeth together in the bathroom, laughing at each other's animal headbands that mess up your hair. He does face masks with you when you're stressed and makes your favorite food when you're sad. He holds your hand and kisses you and tells you he loves you more than anything in the world.

He fills your life with so much sunshine it burns.

There's no reason for you to feel like you're never truly full of him. You're not unsatisfied, because you're not. He brings so much satisfaction to your life that you drown in happiness from him.

All that's heard is his breathing and the air conditioner humming softly.

You look at the alarm clock on his side of the bed. There's only 10 minutes left until your alarm goes off. Your fingers brush against his unruly hair to take in the softness of it.

There's a beautiful boy in your bed, and you refuse to let him go.
