Another Word for Paradise

Summary:

Amidst the peach trees, you give in.

Notes:

First ever omegaverse fic and it's omega/omega. Non-traditional dynamics all the way, am I right? Nothing nsfw happens in this. Reader just has their mind in the gutter.

No pronouns or Y/N mention in this, so we're labeling at gender neutral. This can be read as probably any gender, though.

Work Text:

The summer sun is hot against your skin, but you barely notice it with Hinata in front of you.

He’s leading you through the peach orchard, finding which trees are in the best shape. You hear his voice, but you can’t process his words. All you can do is admire his ginger hair looking like fire in the sun.

“Oh!” he says before hurrying off without you. You quicken your steps without running, because you’ll catch up eventually. There aren’t too many places to hide here. “I found it!”

The tree looks like every other tree, but he excitedly reaches to pick a peach. It’s bigger than most peaches and looks perfectly ripe and ready to eat.

“This tree always has the best peaches,” Hinata says before taking a bite of it.

It’s juicy, running down his chin and onto his hand and wrist. You chuckle at the mess until he quickly licks the juice off his wrist and hand. He slurps at it, trying to not waste a single drop of the peach. Your mind clouds with thoughts you’d never say aloud.

He licks his lips, a feral grin on his face. You can’t breathe as you follow his tongue and his sharp canines. You wonder what they’d feel like on your neck while your body runs hot, wanting more and more and more.

These aren’t thoughts you should have, especially when you’re just someone visiting for the summer. Although it’s not unheard of for friends to share heats together, you don’t know Hinata well enough to even suggest that. There’s not a chance to suggest it with your heat never falling during the summer, but right now, you wish it did.

He takes another deep bite of the peach, and the juice cascades down his chin and hand again. It’s everywhere, and it’s starting to look more like slick than peach juice. Your head is reeling, feeling ready to pass out.

You’ve never been someone to get caught up in these thoughts. They’re normally fleeting, but this is Hinata—the man who knocked on your rental cottage door to see if you wanted a tour guide of the small country town for the summer. He’s gorgeous with warm eyes and bright hair that’s unruly, making you want to tangle your fingers in it. He’s the man who makes your chest warm and fills your days with laughter and adventure.

Then there’s his scent—freshly baked bread. It filled your cottage when he showered one day, having to strip his scent blockers. It made your mouth water and heat course through you, even though you’re both omegas. The thought of you both being omegas hadn’t bothered you though.

And maybe Hinata isn’t a fleeting thought, even if you may only be here for the summer. The plan had been to finish your manuscript and leave, but the plan changed because how do you leave when your heart grows attached to someone?

“Hinata,” you say, your voice tight. He looks at you, away from the mess all over his skin. “I’m going to kiss you if that’s alright.”

He freezes for a moment before slowly nodding. “Okay.”

It’s only a couple of strides before you’re pulling him in by the back of his neck. It’s not coordinated, especially with how Hinata continues to hold on to the peach. That doesn’t matter, though, because you lose yourself in the kiss with how sweet he tastes. You know it’s just because of the peach he was eating, but you imagine the taste of baked bread too. It has your head reeling even more than before.

Then hands are on your neck as yours move to his waist. His hands are sticky from the peach juice, staining your skin and pulling at your hair. You don’t care about the mess, especially since his hands light a fire on your skin. You need him so badly, and you deepen the kiss as you tilt his head back.

The little noises he lets out make heat course through your veins, and you need more. You’ve never been with another omega before, always going to alphas like everyone says to do, but you’re not sure if you can go back. Especially with the softness of Hinata beneath your fingers, the grip he has on your hair, and how you stand just a little taller than him.

You pull away for a moment, and he whimpers your name. All your control is crumbling, and you worry you’ll do something you regret in this orchard.

“Let’s go to my cottage,” you say instead of going back in. “Let me have you all to myself.”

When you open your eyes, Hinata is already looking at you. He nods, and you realize he may want that more than you do, even if that’s a crazy thought.

“Please,” he says, and then you’re hurrying through this orchard you’ll want to see again. Next time you’ll try to sweetness of the fruit firsthand instead of through Hinata’s lips.
