“Now, tell me, Heartfixer, are you Ladybug?” Chrysalis asked, hugging Marinette tightly. All Marinette could focus on was the warmth she felt.
“N-no.” she answered, then she felt the villain’s finger on her mouth. She didn’t lie, she knew this was coming, so she sent Tikki for a couple of days. to someone who is trustworthy, but she didn’t know where she went.
“My dear Marinette, you can tell me anything. You know that, right?” she was looking at Marinette’s lips, they looked so kissable, but she couldn’t risk this perfect plan. She knew Marinette couldn’t lie in this situation, but it was quite unbelievable that the baker girl wasn’t Ladybug.
“I am not the owner of the miraculous of the ladybug” she repeated.
“Do you know the owner?” Chrysalis was sure Marinette sent Tikki to Alya or Adrien.
“No, I don't,” Marinette shook her head. Lila thought maybe the guardian took her miraculous back, so she still had one question in her mind.
“Alright, sweetheart. Tell me one more thing, then bring me the miraculous of the ladybug and the black cat. What is your desire? What’s something that you want? I promise I can get it for you” Chrysalis couldn’t help, but notice how beautiful Marinette was. She was pretty a few months ago, but as Lila Rossi she had no chance. To be honest, being a supervillain reduced her chances more, now that she thought about it.
“I wish I…” Marinette started, it was like she was fighting against her own feelings and will. “Confessed my feelings to Lila Rossi” she said and her face looked like she was hurt and ashamed.
“What?” Chrysalis was so surprised, she accidentally broke the akumatization.
She was back in her house now, all alone, without Marinette. She renounced Nooroo, and sat down.
“Nooroo… what the hell was that?” she looked at the terrified kwami. “Was that a lie?”
“I fear it wasn’t master. People can’t lie while they are akumatised” he shook his head.
“So you’re saying, I ruined my chance, right?” she laughed.
“Pretty much you did,” Nooroo said.
Lila punched the wall.
“I had her. Months ago. And I ruined it” she groaned.
“We are talking about Marinette. The nicest person in the world. You still have a chance Maste-” Nooroo wanted to finish the sentence, but then they felt a powerful negative emotion.
Lila transformed, only to realise that the emotion came from… Marinette?
Apparently, the girl was watching a horror movie all alone in the dark and she was terrified.
“Oh my god, it worked! You’re actually here” Marinette’s face lit up as she saw Chrysalis, who was surprised.
“Excuse me?” Lila couldn’t have been more confused.
“Well… I know it’s only been like 10 minutes and I don’t really remember our previous akumatisation, but it felt… nice? So I wanted to try again. And it worked, you’re really here” Marinette was so happy to see her again. What the hell?
“You can’t just do this” Chrysalis shook her head, which made Marinette confused.
“Why not?” the baker girl asked.
“I am a villain, I have things to do” she stated.
“Uh-huh. What things?”
“Like akumatising people, plotting, trying to get the miraculous of the ladybug and the black cat” Lila said.
“But you’re doing that right now. I am akumatised” Marinette said, and Lila hated that she was right. “Also, I’m not even going to remember all this, I’m sure you could use someone to talk about your feelings to”
“So you just wanted to… talk?” Lila’s eyes widened. She was the smartest and most dangerous villain in the world, and a university student fighting her own emotions just called her to talk about feelings.
“Yeah, obviously. I mean we could talk in my room or somewhere else, but I don’t really know how to call you” Marinette laughed a little.
“I guess you’re right. I have things in my life I want to talk about” Chrysalis sat next to the blue haired girl. She couldn’t believe that this girl was not Ladybug. “I have… I had this girl in my life I really liked, but I thought she wasn’t interested in me, but turns out she actually was. And I ruined my chances with her” she sighed.
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. If she is still interested in you, you could try talking to her. You write your own love story” Marinette hugged her. Lila thought about it. Maybe she can go back to school.
“Thanks, Marinette. What about your love life?” Lila asked. Marinette had to think a little, she didn’t want to sound insane for falling for someone who made her life hell.
“I liked someone who was not so kind to me in the past. And I exposed this girl’s lies and now she’s in a different country I think. So it doesn’t really matter” Marinette was quite sad because of that and Lila felt bad for her. This was all her fault.
“Look, if that girl was meant for you, she’ll come back. If she wasn’t, you’re gonna find someone else. But now I gotta go, if you excuse me. I still have to..” she started.
“Yeah, I know… plotting and scheming, because you’re a big, scary villain” Marinette smiled and kissed her cheek. “By the way… in the future please use my window, I want to remember our meeting” she said. Lila just mumbled a quick goodbye and left.
She was burning red when she detransformed.
“Alright, Nooroo, buckle up, we are going back to uni tomorrow” Lila was never this excited about anything.
