Work Text:
the common room, all red and warm, was distant to one sirius black. his thoughts wrapped him within himself, leaving him feel bare and alone; even with remus' hand occupying the bend of his knee. his fingers slid behind the joint, caressing his skin beneath that of his plaid pajamas.
he can feel his worriful gaze upon him, it adds only more to the bell of weight that lays atop, beneath, behind, and amongst his chest. he aches to pull his legs up, leave his knees to that of his sternum; hide his frantically beating and very much vulnerable heart.
damn you, stupid organ, he snarls in the loud of his mind. it feels like a messed office, papers of every thing wrong scattered about. wires of memories he wish he could erase entangled herein. cups of every single type of feel he wish he could either tuck or chug away──maybe down the sink.
he hopes it would stay in that sink, down the drain, too.
"siri, darling," remus whispers above the shell of his ear. his breath is warm. warm like a blanket on a cold day, one enchanted with that of all warmth; warm like a cup of tea, coffee, maybe, after a long and difficult day.
"yes, moony?" his voice came out smaller than intended, he didn't mean it sound so weak. "pay attention, yeah?" he kissed his jaw─ sirius' mouth gaped to question what he meant, but before he could utter even a rhyming or similar syllable to that of, what do you mean? remus was stood, clearing his throat and basically demanding the attention of every one amongst and atop all of the red.
he noticed remus was self-conscious, standing there with the eye of every one looking at his frame. his fingers messed with one another as he started, "hullo," it came out soft; like he hadn't meant to be heard. then, his eyes glow with something mischievous.
his shoulders stood straight then. though, his fingers never left one another. sirius heard James whoop from the corner where he and lily sat, not too far from him. "yeah, remus! state your facts, my boy!" remus lightly flushed.
sirius giggled.
"oh, believe me, prongs, I absolutely am," he looked at sirius, no thing short of admiration and sure catching at his gaze, holding the raven haired steady beneath his unwavering sight.
"well, everyone, it seems the love of my life is feeling a bit down so I'm here to declare the poetry I've written about him."
it was then that, indeed, sirius held his knees close to his chest. hiding his vulnerable and heavily beating, awaiting, heart. his cheeks smooch amongst his knees, hiding his face in fabric.
he hears remus clear his throat yet again, and hears someone giggle; another laugh around the "awwww!" that rounded bout their throat.
when he hears the ruffle of paper, he's taking his face properly from where it is hid, not only leaving his eyes above to peer. a grin plants itself on his face, one that matches just how much his eyes gleam and glow with love for remus.
"you are an angel, my dear, a love i can only call a deity ── i cannot help but fall into your daze, all of you i refer to as that of my religion," he smiles, all lopsided and great. it has his lovers heart flipping about behind his ribs. "the one who has me on my knees; flowers in my plams. just for you, lover of all mine. you are sweet, all words i can muster up within my mind that sing along the lines of that one word.
"you are honey against the rest of my ribs, sticky (welding) and unwilling to let go. i have a knack for sweet, so please dont ever let me float by. let me be what stays, even when fully decayed. let me be the one you call yours, the one you refer to as ― mine ― for the rest of all our days." it seems the end, and sirius is close to tears. his lip trembles, his eyes gloss over with fountains just await to leave their confinement.
just as he thinks remus is about to leave the table he stands upon──apologies to the students whose paper he stands upon──he says one more thing, staring directly at sirius. it be the end of his poetry.
"and finally, 𝘮𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, you could never be unloved by me; you and all of your sweet, all of your rot, too. simply for you are far too well entangled within the confine of my soul." then, he's jumping off the dark wood of the table, slightly swaying from the loss of weight, and then he's on his knees infront of sirius, and kissing him silly; the hands that so carefully hold his face, as if made to do so, wipe the tears that have escaped.
"did you like my poem, siri?" remjs giggles in to the kiss, uncaring of all sniffles, even from James! that sounds all around them. "yes, I very much did, my moony. thank you."
remus kisses him again.
"I 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 you." and thus, he completely ends his poetry; ends it with what remains, with what implies, within every word he writes about the lover that is all his.
"𝘐 love 𝘺𝘰𝘶."
sirius might as well have written his own poetry with the way he kissed remus then.
