A Normal Life, Almost

Summary:

Team Free Will goes to Beacon Hills to investigate the strange increase of supernatural creatures that's occurred over the last few years.
Only problem: this case is long term and all hands on deck, so no one can stay back at the bunker to watch Jack.
And frankly, Jack wants to come with them.
Sam, Cas, and Dean, agree, but only if he goes to the local High school to learn more about humans.
Let the chaos begin...

Supernatural X Teen Wolf

Spn timeline: a peaceful point inbetween season 14 and season 15, idk. Jack isn't God yet, though.

TW timeline: the ghost riders situation has happened, but they're all still in High school. Liam, Mason, and Corey are all in their junior year, while the others are in their senior year. Hayden left for New York already.

I hope you enjoy this if you decide to read it! ❤

Notes:

Hello! And welcome to this fic! The first chapter anyway. Thank you for clicking on it, I really hope you end up enjoying it and sticking it through with this one! ❤

I wrote this because there's a lot of SPN x TW fics out there, but none of them have Jack most of the time, let alone have Jack going to the high school with the TW characters! Like c'mon people! He's the perfect age for it! So that's why I'm making it a reality, and I hope you all enjoy how it turns out! ❤

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Chapter One: Case

Chapter Text

Dean's PoV:

All had been quiet in the supernatural world. Too quiet in Deans opinion. The most they'd had to deal with in a while was a few simple salt and burns, and a small Vamp nest, but other than that- silence.

And silence only ever ment one thing in the supernatural world.

Something was coming.

Something big.

And Dean wasn't sure how to feel about that. On one hand, Dean lived for the excitement, the challenge, the thrill of the hunt.

But on the other hand, Dean was tired. He was done with saving the world from shit, and from picking up the broken pieces of his hope, his determination, his strength. He was done with losing people that he loved and cared deeply about.

Dean was just done.

But of course, once you're in the hunting business, you stay in it till death do you part- and even then sometimes that's not the case. It wasn't for Bobby. Or Sam. Or Cas. Or even Dean himself.

So that's why, when, of all people, Cas, said he had a case- a long term one at that, Dean jumped at the chance to finally do something to ease his restlessness.

And that's what brought Dean and Cas to be sitting at one of the tables in the library waiting for Sam to join them before discussing the case.

"Finally! The sasquatch emerges! Dude we've been waiting forever." Dean huffs as Sam enters the library, decked out in full Winchester fashion of flannel shirts, jeans, and the occasional leather jacket.

Sam cringes at the nickname as he walks towards Dean and Cas, who were seated at one of the tables in the library.

"It's only been ten minutes since you called me down here." Sam points out as he takes a seat across from Dean on one of the chairs surrounding the table.

"Yeah, well, that's ten minutes too long." Dean retorts.

"I was having a shower." Sam shoots back, gesturing at his damp hair.

"Take one later! I don't care about your personal hygiene life, Mr. I-own-too-many-hair-products." Dean counters, leaning across the table towards Sam to further justify his point.

"Hey! Those hair products are essential! All that crappy motel stuff damages your hair! I'm just trying to keep mine healthy, unlike some people."

"My hair is perfectly fine, bitch!"

"Jerk!"

"Can I please just explain the case now?" Cas interupts, exasperated. Living around the Winchesters for almost fifteen years now, Cas was used to their childish banter, but that didn't mean he always enjoyed it.

When Sam and Dean just looked at Cas, he took it as an invitation to start talking.

"So a few years ago I noticed how there was a large spike in supernatural activity out in a small town in California called Beacon Hills. It seems to draw the supernatural to it. I was going to investigate it myself, but then we had to go and figure out a cure for the mark of Cain, and then the whole Amara thing happened, and then..." Cas would've kept going if Sam hadn't interrupted him.

"You forgot about it with everything happening." Sam finishes for Cas, looking at him for confirmation.

"Yes. I... Forgot for a time." Cas confirms, albeit a bit shamefully. Dean didn't like it when Cas felt like he made a silly, human, mistake and felt embarrassed or ashamed by it, especially for something like forgetfulness. After all, everybody forgets things.

"We had bigger problems to be worrying about at the time, no wonder it slipped your mind." Dean says, brushing off Cas' worry. At Dean's comment, Cas visibly relaxed, as relief washed through him.

Good. Dean thought.

"Anyways, I feel like since we have nothing... Problematic, going on right now, we should go down there and check it out. But it would probably be a long term case." Cas continued.

 "Meaning?" Sam prompted.

"Meaning that we would probably have to buy a house and live there while we figured out why the supernatural creatures are coming to Beacon Hills." Cas explained.

Sam opened his mouth to ask something, when a new voice spoke first.

"You're going to buy an actual house? In Beacon Hills? Can I come?!" Jack asks standing in the entryway to the library looking at the three of his dads.

Sam, Dean, and Cas all looked at Jack and then each other before Dean calls out to Jack,

"Give us a second to talk, ok Jack?"

"Ok!"

The first three members of Team Free Will all lean across the table they're seated at to discuss.

Sam starts first, I'm a hushed tone of voice. "We can't just leave him alone at the bunker for, who knows how long!"

"But what if he gets hurt in Beacon Hills?" Dean worries.

"He's part angel, he'll be fine. Plus, he needs more people skills, he's not shy, but he's just not the greatest... To converse with." Sam argues.

Before Dean could counter, Cas buts in. "I don't see why we shouldn't bring him. He'll be with us, living in the same house so we'll be able to keep an eye on him. And if we send him to the local high school, then he can become more educated in the world and how it works, and gain 'people skills' by making friends." Cas adds over-exaggerated finger quotes when he said, people skills.

Sam and Dean seemed to consider this for a few moments before both simultaneously nodding their heads.

Dean turns to face Jack who's still standing in the library entryway. "Jack, pack your bags, you're coming."

Jack's face lights up with joy. "Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" He shouts before running off towards his room to pack.

"Now, we've got a house to find." Dean says turning back to Sam and Cas.
