Chapter Text
Approaching the vigilante, his friend, he thought, Hotguy smirked as he playfully lurked over Cuteguy.
“Hiya birdi-”
A punch flew to his nose almost instantly after he spoke. He stumbled, hands on his bleeding face.
“Ow-!?”
The complaint escaped him in a whiny tone, stern but confused. Hurt. Cuteguy looked at him with wide eyes for a moment, before they narrowed. Her wings, both head and back, were fluffed and flared behind her.
“Don't-.. don't fucking scare me like that, asshole.”
The vigilante muttered, fists clenched as she stared at hotguy like prey just waiting for an escape.
“What-!? We always sneak up on each other, it's like.. our thing, birdie!”
“Well not anymore- I said don't. So fucking don't. Or you'll be lucky if it's just a punch next time.”
Hotguy's expression turned hard at the threat, wiping the blood from his nose and taking a step back, reclaiming his spot and pining the mutant against the rooftop railings.
“Look, I don't know what the fucks going on- but I'm still a member of the law, Cuteguy. And you have no right to speak to me like that.”
The mutant in question quickly pushed himself against the railings, preparing to jump up.. maybe land a risky kick on the hero if she felt like it.. and really, she was. After their encounter in the hospital- after this.. God he didn't even know what to call him now. Cuteguy wanted nothing to do with the soldier.. but it was never that easy. Venom in her words, she put a finger on hotguy's chest.
“After the fucking week I've had, I honestly need anything but your egotistical and pretentious ass trying to fucking police me.”
Hotguy looked appalled at the pure anger.. at the rage, in what he thought was a friend's voice. Looking down at her, his eyes almost softened to guilt before he snapped and turned around.. walking off.
