Chapter Text
Usually, Evan could guess pretty accurately what was going to happen in his day.
Some collecting here, defeating an intercalation monster there, and who could forget breaking out of time prison?
But then... it happened.
How could he have been so stupid? Letting something as primal as instinct dictate him. And for what? Just to bathe in some sweet smelling scent for a couple of days? A scent that belonged to him.
Yes, he had been foolish. He would never let that happen again.
But it seemed, once again, the universe planned to throw another wrench in his plans.
," What are you doing here? How did you even get past the security?" Said wrench was currently staring at him, duffel bags in hand," I stole Rick's tech." Huh, Evan was actually a bit impressed by that. But of course he wouldn't tell Morty this. Just because one Morty wasn't a lapdog doesn't mean he was worthy of praise for it," That answers my second question. Now, what the hell are you doing here and-"
Morty lifted up his shirt.
For once in his life, Evan was at a loss for words as he stared at Morty's stomach.
His noticeably curved stomach.
," Shit." Oh he had majorly fucked up. Had he really been so blinded by something like a heat to forget fucking condoms!? Appearently he had. He severely doubted Morty went so far as to steal Rick's tech just to show off his weight gain," That means I'm... no, nope. I am not doing this." Call him a coward but Evan was not going to be a father at 16. If Morty wanted to have a baby when he wasn't even a legal adult, he could go do that. But he wanted no part of it. He'd be a shitty father anyway and regardless of why the baby was conceived, it deserved at least a decent dad. So it was only logical he closed the door. Well, he tried to. Morty, it seemed, wasn't having any of that.
," Oh no you fucking don't!" With way more strength than Evan thought he had, Morty shoved the door open. Extremely agrressively," Great, now there's a dent in the wall." He could fix it in 10 seconds, but he preferred his house to have no dents, thank you very much," You are not going to pretend you didn't see this! This whole thing, this baby, is your damn fault!" Evan felt his anger rise. While yes, he should off gotten condoms, it wasn't the only contraceptive that existed," You know morning after pills exist, right?" At the mention of the pill, Morty's body language noticeably changed. He rubbed his arms and his feet shifted. He looked guilty," Honestly, I thought he was one of the smarter Morty's. Unless... oh he cannot be that stupid." Sadly, it seemed he had slept with an idiot.
," I didn't take it because... I want to have the baby and you're gonna help-hey!" Evan couldn't bear to hear any more of this nonsense. So he decided to shut Morty up. By smacking some sense into him. Really, he was given no other choice. There was no way verbal words would have worked," Have you come to your senses yet?" He sure as hell hoped Morty had, considering the absolute fit his alpha threw.
Don't hurt are omega! Could hurt pup!
," Just because we fucked him doesn't mean he's are omega. Also, calm down it was a slap on the cheek. The fetus is fine." God, his alpha instincts were annoying," They are what got me in this mess." A mess that Morty was, hopefully, now more willing to fix," Come to my senses?? If you mean keeping the baby, I'm still going to. And you will help me!" He was fighting a losing battle, wasn't he? Sighing in a way that he was sure conveyed his utmost annoyance, Evan turned around," Come on, if your going to explain the ethics of baby trapping me, at least let me have a drink first." God knows he needed one.
He turned around before he could see the look of pure offence on Morty's face... and slight betrayal.
Evan truly believed whiskey was one of the best drinks ever invented.
Sure, it felt fucking awful when you first tasted it, there was no debating that. But the more you tasted it, the more you discovered the richness underneath. The burn started feeling more like a simmer. The different tastes blended together in one lovely flavour.
It's a shame he couldn't fully enjoy it, not with Morty glaring at him, hand protectively holding his stomach," Stop looking at me like that. I'm not going to attack you or that... thing."
,"Don't call my baby that!" Great, he had accidentally triggered the omega's protective instincts and no one in their right mind would want to provoke a protective, pregnant omega. He preferred to have all of his limbs intact," Right, your baby. Now, please explain to me why you think it's a good idea to try and baby trap me." It wouldn't work of course, he was too smart to be manipulated like that," I'm not trying to baby trap you, Evan. I wouldn't do that to you." Huh, interesting," You never fail to surprise me."
," Well if you're not trying to baby trap me, why are you here?" Evan actually had a pretty good idea why. He just wanted to hear Morty say it. Say that he knew how his family was going to respond and didn't want to deal with it. Say that he could have run away to any dimension but he chose to run away to him. It was just to boost his ego, nothing more. No matter what his stupid alpha instincts said.
," My family... they would have made me get rid of my baby and I know I'm way to young but... I... fuck, I don't know." Morty sighed, his voice full of exhaustion. Evan didn't like how that made him feel. How that small sigh of defeat made him want to reach out and... he shouldn't be thinking like this.
Omega is in distress. Comfort him.
," He doesn't need my comfort, he's just wallowing in self pity." Even if Morty did need comfort, that wasn't something he was particular good at," Look, I... can I stay here, please?" Morty seemed determined to look anywhere but him, despite the fact that he was the one being asked the question," I thought you said you weren't baby trapping me?" Now Morty was looking straight at him with an intensity that Evan had never seen on him before. It was an intensity that was both anger and... something he couldn't put a name to.
Evan hated when he couldn't figure something simple out.
," For fucks sake, I'm not trying to baby trap you! I just need a safe place to have my baby! You... you don't have to raise them with me if you don't want to. Heck, you'll never have to see them again once they're born." Morty's once angry tone turned more somber, eyes refusing to meet the boy opposite him. Because thats what they both still were. Two boys, no matter how smart or idiotic either of them were. Morty knew he should get an abortion and not tie himself down so young, he could practically hear his mother saying those words to him. But this baby inside him?
This baby was his and it had been so long since Morty felt he could call someone his. Not since... that night. The night that started all of this.
So Morty didn't care what his family would say when he returned with a baby in his arms. If they tried to convince him to give them up for adoption, he wouldn't say yes without a fucking fight. Morty didn't care if... if Evan nether wanted to see his child again, he would give the child enough love to make up for it. Morty wasn't certain of many things, but he was certain he would love this child even more than he already does.
," You consider my house a safe place to have a baby?"
," Thats what you're focused on!?"
