or: Ten years ago, Frank and Gerard had a summer fling that felt a lot like love. The last decade hasn't been easy for either of them, and now they're both leading lives they never planned for. Gerard is the reluctant owner of a failing bookstore left to him by his grandmother, staying sober and keeping the place open and not doing much else. Frank is a reluctant corporate broker, white-knuckling sobriety by not staying in one place too long, buying buildings for companies he doesn't respect.
When their current lives intersect over six weeks, they confront who they are, who they were, and the feelings they never fully grew out of.
