brendon woke up late that day, her alarm forgetting her as always. she really needed to replace it, but right now she needed to think about other things.
"fuck- not today, not today!"
she mumbles to herself as she puts on her glasses in a panic and stumbles out of bed, rushing around her room. clothes get thrown from her dresser and her closet as she finds the right outfit, deciding on a green tank and skinny jeans. she quickly brushes her long hair and tries to make her bangs look like she actually styled them for more than ten seconds.
"god, Ryan is gonna be pissed!" she smudges her eyeliner and rushed out of her room, grabbing her shoes from by the door.
she just had to be late today of all days? really? the one day she was supposed to be meeting Ryan at her house for practice. they'd planned this a week ago!
she all but runs down the sidewalk, the wind ruining what little styling she'd done to her hair. Ryan's house finally comes into view and she checks the time-
"shit-" the front door opened before she could finish catching her breath, revealing Ryan, who'd been watching through the window for her.
"little late, huh?" she mumbles, arms crossed as she looks at the girl in front of her, disheveled and out of breath.
"sorry! sorry- my alarm didn't go off, and I had to do my hair, and-" Ryan closes the front door and leads them to her room.
"you're only, like, ten minutes late. it's alright."
"I know, but I meant to be here sooner. honest!" she chimed quickly, her cheeks pink with embarrassment as then walk into Ryan's bedroom, Ryan sitting on her bed.
"I know that. let's get to writing, then." she starts strumming her guitar, tuning it. brendon just stares for a moment, admiring how careless Ryan seems. so calm.
then she shakes her head. "r-right- right-" she quickly sits next to Ryan on the bed, swaying nervously.
"are you okay??" ryan asks as she sees her nervousness, giving Brendon a small confused frown.
"I'm a little mixed up, but I'm feeling fine." she shrugs with a sheepish smile, trying to hide how flustered Ryan makes her.
