Chapter Text

Sitting on top of the tallest building in the city, Izuku lets his legs hang over the edge as he stares down at the streets below. The city stretched endlessly beneath him

A cool breeze swept across the rooftop, rustling the fabric of his suit. Izuku tilted his head back slightly, closing his eyes for a moment. It wasn't often that he got to enjoy a quiet evening like this. Usually, there was another emergency waiting around the corner, another villain causing trouble, another call for help. But today was different

The morning had started with a lost little girl sobbing in the middle of a crowded shopping district. Her tiny hands had been balled into fists as tears streamed down her face, completely overwhelmed by the sea of unfamiliar people surrounding her. Izuku had spent nearly half an hour helping her search for her mother, reassuring her the entire time. When they were finally reunited, the woman had burst into tears of relief while the little girl wrapped herself around her mother's waist. Before leaving, she had shyly handed Izuku a crumpled drawing she had made while waiting. It now sat folded carefully inside one of his suit pockets

The slime monster that appeared later had been significantly less heartwarming

The thing had emerged from a storm drain near a subway station and immediately started causing chaos. It wasn't particularly dangerous compared to some of the villains Izuku had fought before, but it had been incredibly annoying. Every time he managed to trap part of it, another piece would slither away and start causing problems somewhere else. By the time he finally captured it, half the street was covered in sticky green slime and several civilians had recorded the entire thing on their phones

Izuku was fairly certain at least one video would end up online with an embarrassing caption attached to it

After patrol, instead of heading home, he had stopped by the local animal shelter, that had been a mistake. Not because he disliked animals. Quite the opposite- The moment he walked through the doors, every intention of leaving after ten minutes completely disappeared

One elderly dog had fallen asleep with its head in his lap while he sat on the floor. A litter of puppies had immediately swarmed him, climbing over his legs and chewing on his shoelaces. One particularly stubborn bulldog had refused to let him stand up, rolling onto its back every time Izuku tried to leave and demanding more attention.

Three hours later, he had finally escaped, barely

A small smile spread across his face at the memory. Today was good, the kind of day that reminded him why he loved being a hero in the first place

The sound of his phone ringing pulled him from his thoughts. Izuku blinked before reaching into one of the pockets built into his suit. The second he saw the name on the screen, his smile widened without him even realizing it

His thumb immediately pressed the answer button. "Hi, Kacchan!"

“Hey nerd” he hears ruffling through the phone. “Where are you right now?”

“Just sitting on top of an office building, why?” Izuku leans back, staring up at the clouds

A second of silence

“Did you forget that we have a double date with Sero and Todoroki today?”

The smile vanished from Izuku's face. He squeals, putting his phone down to check the time. It was 5:43, and the dinner reservation is at 6. “Shit! I forgot”

Bakugo cackles through the phone , “Better get here quick spiderboy, I’ll be waiting for you” he hangs up

For a moment, Izuku remained frozen in place. Getting up clumsily, Izuku jumps off the building.

The city blurred around him, wind whipped through his hair. The evening sunlight flashed across glass windows as he moved

People pointed up from below, someone shouted his name.

Izuku waved instinctively before almost crashing into a billboard.

"Sorry!" he says to no one

As he swung through downtown, a flower shop caught his attention. Before he could overthink it, he shot a web toward a bouquet sitting outside of the shop. At the same time, he tossed a handful of cash for the old lady who runs the store. He took a look at it as he swung, perfect

The moment he was in the neighborhood, he dropped into a small alleyway. Quickly removing his hero suit, he stuffed everything inside of his bag. As he zipped it closed, a familiar cat sat on top of the dumpster, eyeing him

Slowly, Izuku lifted a finger to his lips, “Remember, this is our little secret, Mister Mittens” the cat then looked away. Smiling, Izuku slung his backpack over his shoulder and hurried home

He unlocks the door in a hurry

“Hi mom!” his voice echoed through the house as he rushed in, he didn't wait for a response as he takes two steps at a time up to his room. Izuku looks over at the clock in his room, 5:50. Shit, shit

Thankfully, his outfit was already laid out on the chair near his desk. He puts on a black button up and gray slacks. Izuku runs his fingers through his hair, attempting to tame his hair

Going back down the stairs, with the flowers in his hand, he notices his mom standing by the door. “Izuku, sweetie, your hair” she makes her way up to him, combing his hair quickly. Then fixing his shirt. “There, be careful and have fun”

“Thanks mom” he kisses her cheek before running out the door and into his car. Luckily, Bakugo doesn’t live too far from him, so he was able to make it in 5 minutes

He pulls on his collar as he walks up to the door. Taking a deep breath, Izuku knocks on the door. The door opens immediately to reveal Mitsuki who is already giving him a smile, “Oh Izuku! You look absolutely dashing”

“T-thank you Mrs.Bakugo”

“Mom,” he hears a familiar grumble come from inside the house. Until Bakugo finally comes into view, glaring at his mother “Get out, I said I was going to open the goddamn door”

“But Katsuki, you know how much I like Izuku. Look- he even got you beautiful flowers.” Mitsuki cups her own face.

Bakugo looked over at him, eyes widening at him and he never looked so beautiful as a pink blush took over his face. “Oh” he stares down at the flowers

“T-These are for you!” Izuku holds them out in front of him. Bakugo carefully grabs onto them, putting them against his own chest. He looks down at them shyly

“Thanks, nerd,” Bakugo mumbles, turning away before Izuku can see much more of the blush spreading across his face. He carries the bouquet inside with surprising care, holding the flowers upright as if he’s afraid one wrong move might damage them

Izuku can't help smiling

The moment Bakugo disappears around the corner, Mitsuki turns back toward Izuku with a look that immediately makes him nervous, her grin is downright dangerous.

“You are such a gentleman, Izuku. Honestly, I wonder how my son got so lucky with a man like you.”

Izuku nearly chokes. “T-That's not true,” he says quickly, waving his hands in front of himself. “I'm the lucky one.”

Mitsuki raises an eyebrow

“I mean it!” Izuku insists. His face grows warmer with every word, but once he starts talking about Bakugo, stopping becomes impossible. “Kacchan is amazing. He's smart and kind and handsome and-and he's always looking out for people even if he pretends he isn't. He works harder than anyone I know and he's so dependable. If something goes wrong, he's always the first person I want beside me.”

A soft smile appears on Izuku's face. “He deserves the best.” By the time he finishes speaking, his cheeks are completely red

Mitsuki stares at him for a moment. Then her grin somehow becomes even wider. “Oh, you are absolutely keeping this one, Katsuki.”

“Mom, don't be weird.” Bakugo's voice comes from inside the house. Unfortunately for him, Mitsuki ignores it

She places a dramatic hand over her heart. “It's enough to make a mother cry.”

“M-Mrs. Bakugo-”

“I hope you two get marrie-”

“WE'RE LEAVING.” Bakugo suddenly reappears, looking horrified. The tips of his ears are bright red. Actually, his entire face is red

“We're leaving now, you hag,” he snaps. “Tell dad I said bye and that I love him.”

“You're not gonna say that to your own mother?!” Mitsuki shouts immediately.

“Absolutely not.”

“Katsuki!”

He ignores her, grabbing Izuku's hand and immediately starts dragging him toward Izuku’s car before she can say anything else. When they rhea the car, Bakugo shoves Izuku towards the driver’s side before walking around to get inside the passengers seat

Before they leave, Bakugo rolls down  the window. “Love you mom, I’ll be back!” he yells

Mitsuki beams, “Love you too baby! Have fun!”

Bakugo slumps down in his seat as Izuku drives out the driveway, “She’s so embarrassing” he groans

“I think it’s cute” Izuku laughs, “Your mom really cares about you”

The annoyance fades from his face “Yeah” Bakugo smiles softly, “She does”

They drive in silence, low jazz music in the background.

Izuku stops at a red light. For the first time since leaving the house, he allows himself to properly look at Bakugo

And immediately regrets it because holy shit-

Bakugo is wearing a dark red button up shirt with the sleeves rolled neatly to his forearms. The color makes his crimson eyes stand out even more than usual. A black tie hangs perfectly against his chest. His black dress pants fit him perfectly

Izuku's brain completely stops working, Bakugo looks hot.

Apparently he stares for too long, because he’s now staring back with a knowing look “What?”

Without saying a word, Izuku reaches across the center console and grabs Bakugo's tie

The smirk immediately disappears. "What are-" Izuku pulls him closer and kisses him. Bakugo makes a surprised noise against his lips before immediately kissing him back

The kiss only lasts a few seconds. Just long enough to leave both of them smiling when Izuku finally pulls away. Bakugo blinks at him. For once, he actually looks caught off guard

"You look so good right now." Izuku says

"Yeah?" A slow grin spreads across his face. His eyes travel over Izuku from head to toe, taking his time. "You don't look too bad yourself."

Izuku gulps, suddenly feeling shy under Bakugo's gaze. "T-thanks." His voice comes out softer than intended, he notices that his hand is still wrapped around Bakugo's tie

Neither of them has moved. The black fabric is twisted loosely around his fingers, and despite every logical thought telling him to let go, he doesn't. Bakugo notices too, his eyes briefly flick down to Izuku's hand before returning to his face

A car suddenly beeps behind them, causing them both to jump in their seats. Izuku quickly lets go, turning his attention back into the street

In 8 minutes they finally arrive at the restaurant. Izuku and Bakugo get out of the car, Izuku makes his way to his boyfriend’s side, his hand finding its familiar place against Bakugo’s waist.

As they make their way inside, a woman greets them with a smile. “Hello, do you have a reservation?”

“Hello! Yes, we do. Under the name of Izuku?”

The lady scrolls on the ipad, “Yep, I see your name. Your other two companions are already here” she nods, “Follow me”

They follow her until Izuku sees the familiar white and red hair, “Thank you so much” Izuku gives her a small bow

“No problem, enjoy” she smiles, then turns to leave

“Midoriya! Bakugo!” Sero greets them with a bright smile

“Hey you two, sorry we’re late” Izuku and Bakugo take a seat

Todoroki shakes his head, “It’s fine, we just got here ourselves”

“We would have gotten here earlier but someone forgot” Bakugo eyes him, Izuku awkwardly chuckles

“Were you busy doing something, Midoriya?” Todoroki curiously asks

“A-ah, yeah.” Had to help my mom with something” Izuku lies, Sero and Todoroki nod in understanding

They fall into conversion about their classes and Todoroki brings up a hobby that he’s recently got into. The more they talk, the more everyone relaxes. They laugh as Sero tells a story about one of siblings.

Izuku smiles to himself, today was really great

Izuku's body slams into the pavement hard enough to knock the air from his lungs. Pain erupts through his back as cracks form across the concrete beneath him. For a split second, all he can do is stare up at the darkening sky while his vision swims. His ears ring. Every muscle in his body protests as he tries to force himself upright

Big mistake

Before he can even get his elbows underneath himself, one of the villain's robotic arms shoots forward with terrifying speed. Metal fingers clamp around his ankle.

"Oh, come on-" The arm whips him through the air, the world becomes a blur of lights and buildings before Izuku crashes shoulder-first into the side of a storefront

Glass rattles. The brick wall caves slightly around the impact.

A groan escapes him as he slides down the building and lands in a heap on the sidewalk. "Today sucks," he mumbles, pressing a hand against his aching ribs. Unfortunately, the universe seems determined to prove that it can get worse

The villain charges toward him, six massive robotic arms moving like angry metal snakes. The mechanical limbs scrape against the pavement, leaving deep grooves in the street as they propel him forward

Izuku barely manages to roll out of the way

One of the arms punches straight through the wall he'd been leaning against a second earlier, chunks of brick explode everywhere.

"Can't you take it easy on me?" Izuku throws his hands up as he springs back onto his feet. "Today has been awful!"

The villain's face twists with disgust. "I could care less about your pathetic little life."

"Wow." Izuku places a hand over his chest. "That was rude."

Another robotic arm shoots toward him. This time Izuku reacts quickly, a web flies from his wrist and wraps around the metal limb, sticking it firmly to a nearby wall

The line stretches tight. For a brief second, hope sparks inside him

Then the villain simply yanks harder, the wall cracks…the web snaps. The arm comes free. "Oh." Izuku's smile falters. "Awh, shit."

The robotic fist collides with his face, the impact snaps his head to the side. Stars burst across his vision. Before he can recover, two more arms shoot toward him

Izuku ducks beneath one and punches another away, but the numbers aren't in his favor. Every time he blocks one attack, two more replace it. Metal claws swipe at him from every angle. One grazes his shoulder. Another narrowly misses his head

A third wraps around his arm before he tears himself free. "Seriously?" Izuku pants. "Six arms? That's just cheating."

The villain doesn't seem interested in discussing the fairness of the situation. Izuku fires a web toward a nearby lamp post and launches himself backward

The distance gives him a precious few seconds to breathe. Landing lightly atop the pole, he crouches and wipes a bit of blood from the corner of his mouth

His entire body aches, his shoulder hurts, his ribs hurt, his face definitely hurts and he was pretty sure he'd be finding bruises in places he didn't know existed tomorrow morning

"Think, Izuku. Think." His eyes darted around the street. Storefronts, parked cars, traffic lights, a construction site- nothing useful

The villain barrels toward him again. The robotic arms smash through anything in their path, sending pieces of asphalt flying in every direction

Izuku glances left, his eyes land on a bright red fire hydrant

A grin immediately spreads across his face. "Aha!" He leaps from the lamp post. A metal fist tears through the spot he'd occupied a fraction of a second earlier.

Izuku lands directly in front of the hydrant. The villain skids to a stop several feet away. "You need to be quicker than that." He straightens, though the movement sends a sharp pain shooting through his side.

Okay- maybe don't straighten.

The villain growls. "You fucking-" One of the robotic arms launches forward- fast but not quite fast enough

At the very last second, Izuku sidesteps.

The mechanical fist misses him entirely. Instead, it slams directly into the fire hydrant.

BOOM

A geyser of water explodes into the air. The pressure is incredible, water sprays across the entire street, drenching everything within range.

Including the villain and and more importantly-his suit

"No." The villain stares at the sparking machinery. "No no no!" Electrical sparks burst from the robotic arms. The metal limbs twitch violently, one arm jerks upward. Another smashes into the pavement, a third begins spinning uncontrollably

Izuku clutches his side as he watches the chaos unfold

The suit lets out a horrible grinding noise before completely giving up. One by one, the robotic arms fall limp. The villain's expression shifts from anger to horror, the suit had clearly cost a fortune

For a second, Izuku almost feels bad- almost. Then he remembers getting thrown through a building

The sympathy disappears immediately. "Yeah, no."

A web shoots from his wrist, it wraps around the villain's ankles before he can react. The man lets out a startled yell. Then faceplants directly onto the pavement.

Izuku winces. "Ouch."

In the distance, police sirens begin echoing through the city, perfect timing

Izuku exhales in relief. The authorities could handle the rest from here. The villain wasn't going anywhere, not with his suit destroyed and his ankles glued together

With one final glance toward the approaching police cars, Izuku fires a web into the distance.

A second later he's airborne, swinging away from the scene and toward the only person he trusted to help patch him up after a day like this

Landing on Bakugo’s roof with a soft thud, the cool night air still clinging to his torn hero suit, Izuku makes his way down to the familiar window. His body aches with every careful step. In a split second, Bakugo yanks the window open, his hand grabbing the front of Izuku’s suit and pulling him inside with rough urgency. Bakugo sticks his head out, eyes scanning left and right along the street below, before slamming the window shut and yanking the heavy curtains closed with a decisive snap

“I was worried, you shithead,” Bakugo growls, his voice low but edged with that familiar mix of anger and relief. He gives Izuku a firm push, guiding him to sit on the edge of the bed. Izuku winces as he lowers himself down, muscles protesting. “I was watching the damn news and they showed you fighting some idiot in a stupid octopus suit. Looked like a mess.”

Bakugo turns sharply, opening his closet and pulling out the well stocked medkit he keeps specifically for these nights. The familiar red case looks a little worn from how often it’s been used lately

“Sorry,” Izuku groans, trying to sit up straighter despite the sharp sting in his side. “That guy was way harder to fight than I thought. Those tentacles were hard and strong…”

Bakugo sets the box on the bed with a thud and flips it open, the faint smell of antiseptic filling the air. “Remove your suit,” he demands, leaving no room for argument. Izuku nods, slowly and painfully peeling off the damaged hero costume piece by piece. The fabric sticks to a few dried cuts, making him hiss under his breath. Soon he’s left in just his boxers, exposed skin already blooming with dark bruises. He sits back down heavily. Bakugo drops down right beside him, their thighs brushing

His boyfriend grabs him gently but firmly by the chin, turning Izuku’s freckled face toward him. The touch is warm, grounding. “Hey,” Bakugo says, his voice softening in that rare way it only does for Izuku. “You did great out there.” He leans forward and presses a small, lingering peck to the corner of Izuku’s lips, the contact gentle and reassuring

“Thanks, Kacchan,” Izuku murmurs, a tired but genuine smile tugging at his mouth

Bakugo takes his time patching him up. There are tons of bruises blooming across Izuku’s ribs, shoulders, and thighs, just like he’d predicted earlier. Each time Bakugo presses a cool bandage or ointment over one, he follows it with a soft kiss right on the tender spot. The warmth of his lips makes Izuku’s tense body gradually relax into the touch, a quiet sigh escaping him

When he’s done, Bakugo neatly packs everything back into the kit and tosses the used wrappers into the small trash bin by his desk. “Do you want to do anything or do you have to head back home already?”

“Can we cuddle?” Izuku asks softly, almost shyly, his green eyes looking up at him

Bakugo nods without hesitation. They both ease down onto the bed. Izuku carefully wraps his arms around his boyfriend, resting his head on the firm shoulder, inhaling the familiar scent of caramel and clean laundry that always clings to Bakugo

“Thank you,” Izuku whispers, placing a small, grateful kiss on his shoulder

“Of course, nerd.”

A comfortable beat of silence settles between them, broken only by the faint hum of the city outside. “How was your day, Kacchan?”

“It was fine,” Bakugo shrugs slightly, careful not to jostle him. “Just went to work, then got dragged shopping with my mom. Apparently she wants to invite you and your mom over for dinner next week.”

“Really?” Izuku’s eyes light up a little despite his exhaustion

Bakugo scoffs. “Yeah. She wants me to ask what you want to eat.”

“Oh- I don’t care, I’m good with anything.”

His boyfriend turns slowly toward him on the bed, mindful of every bruise. “Tch-just choose something before she cooks every possible thing in existence.”

“Mm, Katsudon would be nice,” Izuku says with a small, content smile

Izuku watches as Bakugo rolls his eyes, though there’s no real annoyance behind it. “Why am I not surprised.”

“Can you blame me! Katsudon is so good.”

“Yeah yeah, I get it.”

“You’re the best boyfriend ever!” Izuku beams, pressing a flurry of light kisses across Bakugo’s face- cheeks, forehead, nose. “So perfect and pretty.” His hands slide down to rest on Bakugo’s lower back, gently pulling their bodies closer together

“Aren’t you fucking injured? Get off me,” Bakugo grumbles, though he barely puts any strength into pushing him away, clearly not wanting to hurt him

Izuku continues anyway, trailing more kisses before finally capturing his lips properly. “You taste so good, Kacchan,” he breathes against Bakugo’s mouth. “I could kiss you forever.”

“Shuddup,” Bakugo mutters, but his arms come up to drape over Izuku’s shoulders, holding him there.

They kiss for minutes, maybe hours, lost in each other. Izuku can’t get enough, his hands slipping under the hem of Bakugo’s shirt to trace warm skin, feeling the way Bakugo shivers at the touch. He pushes his tongue into his boyfriend’s mouth, drawing out a low, muffled moan. Bakugo bites down lightly on his bottom lip in response, sending a sharp twitch through Izuku’s hips. The kiss is messy, heated, and perfect all at once- tongues sliding, breaths mingling, hands gripping tighter

When they finally pull apart, a thin string of saliva still connects their lips. Izuku stares at Bakugo’s dilated crimson eyes and flushed, rosy lips, both of them breathing each other in heavily

Bakugo breaks eye contact first, glancing off to the side almost shyly and rubbing the back of his hand across his mouth. The tips of his ears glow a cute shade of pink

“Kacchan,” Izuku murmurs, pressing his thumb gently against Bakugo’s swollen bottom lip and smearing the spit across it. “I have to go home now, okay?”

Bakugo stares back at him for a long moment. “Okay.”

Izuku leans in and gives him a small, lingering kiss on the cheek, his lips brushing warm skin that still carries the faint flush from their earlier kisses. He lingers there for a second, breathing him in, before forcing himself to pull away and get up. Every movement sends a dull throb through his bruised body, but he ignores it as best he can. He quickly gathers his discarded hero suit from the floor, wincing as the torn fabric scrapes over fresh bandages, and slips it back on piece by piece. The material feels sticky and uncomfortable against his skin, but he tugs it into place

Bakugo stays quiet on the bed the whole time, watching him with that intense, unreadable gaze, one arm draped lazily over his stomach. Izuku heads toward the window, his footsteps soft on the floorboards. He slides it open, and a cool night breeze rushes in

Hopping up onto the windowsill, Izuku pauses and glances back toward his boyfriend one last time. The sight hits him hard. Bakugo is propped up on his elbows, shirt ridden up just enough to reveal a teasing strip of his toned stomach and the sharp cut of his hips. His crimson eyes are hooded, heavy-lidded with lingering heat, hair tousled from Izuku’s fingers earlier, lips still slightly swollen and glistening

“Fuck…” Izuku whispers under his breath, the word barely audible. Bakugo looks so damn fuckable right now- relaxed, flushed, and effortlessly tempting in the low light of his bedroom

“Bye, Spiderboy,” Bakugo says, the corner of his mouth twitching into a lazy, cocky smirk as he tilts his head slightly, voice low and rough

“Bye,” Izuku whimpers, the sound embarrassingly needy even to his own ears. He pulls his mask down over his face, hiding the heat flooding his cheeks, and leaps out of the window

Heading out of his last class of the day, Izuku lets out a quiet sigh of relief as he steps into the crowded hallway. The classroom door closes behind him, muffling the sound of his professor's voice as another group of students begins filing inside for the next lecture

Reaching into his pocket, Izuku pulls out his airpods and places them in his ears. A familiar playlist immediately begins playing. His favorite hero themed songs fill his ears

He hums along to the song playing in his ears, completely focused on remembering the lyrics.

Then suddenly, every hair on the back of his neck stands up. The feeling is immediate, instinct takes over before conscious thought has a chance to catch up.

Izuku spins around, his hand shoots out. Fingers wrapping around an arm

“Ow ow owowow” a familiar voice yelps. Izuku takes notice of the big build and red hair

“Oh- Kirishima! I’m so sorry!” Izuku immediately lets go, Kirishima flexes his hand several times before rubbing the spot where Izuku grabbed him

“Jesus dude- you sure have a strong grip” Kirishima shakes his head, “It’s like you have super strength or something”

“Wha-No! No no no, I’m really not strong. You just surprised me!” Izuku forces his smile, trying not to look suspicious at all

“Sure dude!” Kirishima laughs, patting his back. “Anyhoo, I have a birthday party coming up and since you're my friend and my best friend's boyfriend, you are invited!!”

“Oh- whose birthday is it!”

“Mina! She’s super excited and you being there would be even better! So no excuses once you're there, you stay there”

“Uhhhh, sure” Izuku smiles, “Tell Mina I will be there!”

“Sweet! I should start heading to class but I’ll see you around”

“Okay, bye Kirishima” Izuku waves, turning back around to resume walking

He took out his phone to text Bakugo

Izuku

Hey Kacchan!

Are you done with your class yet?

                                                                                                                                                                                                Bakugo:

Yeah, heading toward cafe to eat

                                                                                                                                                                                            You comin’?

Izuku:

Yes!

Which cafe is it?

                                                                                                                                                                                                Bakugo:

The one across from the science building

Izuku:

Okay! I’ll be there in 5

Putting his phone back into his pocket with a quick shove, Izuku picked up his pace, feet practically flying over the familiar sidewalk as he hurried toward the cafe. Three long days had passed since he’d last seen him, three days of forced distance while his boyfriend buried himself in studying for an exam. Izuku didn’t want to bother him, no matter how much he’d ached to text or swing by. The separation had left an restless itch under his skin, a constant pull toward the one person who made everything feel right

Turning the corner, the bustling street noise faded into the background the moment he spotted that unmistakable spiky ash blond hair. Bakugo stood just outside the cafe entrance, hands shoved into his pockets. The late afternoon sunlight caught in his hair, turning the edges golden. Izuku’s heart skipped a hard beat, warmth flooding his chest as a bright, giddy smile broke across his face

When he was close enough, Izuku didn’t hesitate. He slid his arm around Bakugo’s waist, pulling him in against his side with gentle possessiveness. “Hey, Kacchan,” he murmured, voice soft as he leaned down to press a lingering kiss on the top of his boyfriend’s head, inhaling the familiar warm scent of caramel and faint cologne

“Hey,” Bakugo replied, the single word low and rough

“Were you waiting long?” Izuku asked, still not letting go

“Nah,” Bakugo shrugged lightly, glancing up at him. “Just got here like two minutes ago.”

“Okay,” Izuku murmured, his arms still wrapped securely around Bakugo’s waist, fingers splayed possessively against the side of his hoodie as they stepped through the cafe door together. The warm, inviting scent of freshly ground coffee beans and sweet pastries hit him instantly. His stomach let out a loud, embarrassing grumble that echoed between them, loud enough to turn a few nearby heads

“Don’t tell me you skipped breakfast,” Bakugo scoffed, glancing sideways at him with a raised eyebrow

“Maybe…” Izuku admitted sheepishly, a faint flush creeping up his neck

“Tch, shouldn’t you be eating more since you’re… you know,” Bakugo muttered, squinting his eyes in that pointed way, careful not to say the word “hero” out loud in public

“I guess that’s true, but I was late to class,” Izuku pouted. He had forgotten to set his alarm after sneaking back home last night, bone deep exhaustion pulling him under the moment his head hit the pillow. He’d woken up with barely five minutes to spare, throwing on clothes and bolting out the door

“Fucking excuses,” Bakugo clicked his tongue in annoyance, though the corner of his mouth twitched with reluctant fondness. He pulled away from Izuku’s hold just enough to step up to the counter, tilting his head back to scan the menu

Izuku let out a soft sigh but followed right beside him, shoulder brushing against Bakugo’s as they studied the array of delicious looking options

“Hello, are you two ready to order?” The barista behind the counter greeted them with a polite smile, but her gaze quickly lingered on Bakugo a little longer than necessary

“Uh yeah, can I please get the avocado toast with a fried egg and a hot chai latte,” Bakugo said smoothly, nodding once before fixing her with his usual intense stare. Izuku watched as a soft blush bloomed across the woman’s cheeks

“S-sure! And for you, sir?” she asked, turning to Izuku with slightly widened eyes

“I’ll get the salmon toast with avocado and a hot cappuccino with oat milk,” Izuku replied, trying his best to sound friendly and casual, but the way her expression shifted told him he probably came off more awkward and intense than intended

“Uhhh, okay,” she laughed awkwardly, tapping at the register. “That will be 24.34 dollars.”

Before Bakugo could even reach for his card, Izuku already had his wallet out, sliding his card across the counter with a determined grin. “I’ll pay, Kacchan.”

“What- no. I’ll pay,” Bakugo grumbled, reaching for his own wallet

“No, let your boyfriend pay for you. Okay?” Izuku said, voice deliberately louder than necessary, the words carrying clearly across the counter as he glanced pointedly at the barista

Her face fell instantly, a bright flush exploding across her cheeks and climbing all the way to her ears. She fumbled slightly as she took Izuku’s card, swiping it with a quick, awkward motion. “I’ll call you guys when it’s ready,” she mumbled, avoiding eye contact now

“Okay! Thank you,” Izuku replied cheerfully, flashing her a quick smile as he grabbed his card back. He turned and made his way toward a cozy table in the far corner by the windows. Bakugo followed right behind him

He slid into the seat.Bakugo dropped into the chair across from him, their knees brushing under the small table

“Hey,” Bakugo called out, voice low but sharp enough to make Izuku look up immediately. “What was that?”

“Hm?” Izuku tilted his head innocently

“I said, what was that?” Bakugo repeated

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Kacchan,” Izuku gave him a bright, reassuring smile, folding his hands on the table

Bakugo narrowed his eyes, clearly not buying it. “I’m not a fucking idiot. You were giving a mean glare to the poor lady at the counter.” He crossed his arms over his chest as he furrowed his brows

“No I wasn’t,” Izuku denied quickly, leaning back in his chair

“Yes you were.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“Kacchan,” Izuku whined softly, dragging out the nickname

“Izuku,” Bakugo shot back, tilting his head and lifting his eyebrows in that challenging way that always made Izuku’s stomach flip

“Ugh, okay, maybe I was,” Izuku finally scoffed, running a hand through his messy green curls. “But that’s because she was so into you!”

“Ok? It’s not like she had a chance anyway, you know I’m gay, Izuku,” Bakugo rolls his eyes dramatically, shaking his head as a faint huff escapes him. “You’re ridiculous.”

“I know, but Kacchan-” Izuku leans forward, voice dropping into that soft, earnest tone reserved only for him, “no one but me should look at you like that.” He reaches across the small table, turning his palms up in a gentle invitation

Bakugo mumbles something unintelligible under his breath, cheeks warming just a touch, before he reluctantly places his hand over Izuku’s. Their fingers slot together naturally

“You’re mine and only mine,” Izuku murmurs. He lifts Bakugo’s hand to his lips and presses a slow, deliberate kiss to each knuckle, savoring the rough texture of his skin

“Oh my god, you are so embarrassing,” Bakugo mutters, turning his face away slightly as a deeper blush creeps up his neck and dusts the tips of his ears that adorable shade of pink. The shy, flustered expression on his usually sharp features sends a rush of warmth blooming through Izuku’s chest, making his heart squeeze with fond adoration

“You are so sexy when yo-” Izuku starts, green eyes sparkling with playful heat as he leans in closer

“Avocado toast with chai and salmon toast with hot cappuccino!” the barista calls out loudly, her voice cutting sharply through the cozy cafe hum

Bakugo quickly pulls his hand back, the motion almost comically fast, and stands up from his chair with a light scrape against the floor. Izuku hums contentedly, a small, satisfied smile playing on his lips, and gets up as well

Sitting back in their seats, they both dug into their food. Izuku was practically inhaling his salmon toast. His stomach still felt painfully empty after skipping breakfast, and he already knew he might have to order something else later. “This is actually really good,” he mumbled with his mouth half-full, cheeks slightly puffed out

Bakugo’s face twisted with clear disgust. “For fuck sake, you’re too old to be doing that.”

Izuku swallowed quickly, the food going down. “Sorry, Kacchan,” he said sheepishly, grabbing a napkin to wipe his mouth clean. “How was your exam?”

“It was fine. The professor gave a fuck ton of questions though,” Bakugo rolled his eyes, stabbing at his avocado toast with his fork. “I’m so ready to just sleep for the next week.”

“I bet you did great! You are smart after all,” Izuku said brightly

“I better have gotten a B plus or higher. I’ve been studying for hours,” Bakugo groaned, throwing his head back dramatically against the chair, exposing the strong line of his throat. “I was on the verge of crashing.”

“I figured as much,” Izuku nodded, taking another big bite

“Well, I’m glad. I probably would’ve blown up at you,” Bakugo admitted

Izuku smiled softly, warmth spreading through his chest. “Honestly I wouldn’t mind, but I knew you needed some alone time.”

Bakugo gave him a small, rare smile, the kind that made the corners of his eyes crinkle, before staring down at his plate. “Do you want to head to my place today?” He looked back up at Izuku, expression casual but hopeful. “I was thinking we watch a movie and chill.”

“Yes! I-I’ll go,” Izuku replied instantly, voice bright and eager. If he had a tail, it would definitely be wagging back and forth right now, his whole body practically vibrating with happiness

“Pft-” Bakugo covered his mouth with the back of his hand, trying to hide an amused grin. “Are you really that excited to just hang out with me?”

“Of course! I want to spend every minute with you,” Izuku said without hesitation, leaning forward slightly

“And to think that a couple of months ago you were scared to talk to me,” Bakugo teased, raising an eyebrow

“Kacchan,” Izuku whined, cheeks flushing pink as he fidgeted in his seat

“You had a crush on me,” he continued, voice dripping with smug amusement

“You had a crush on me too!” Izuku shot back, grinning triumphantly across the table.

“So? You were way more obvious than I was,” Bakugo replied

“T-true…” Izuku stammered, cheeks heating up again. “Anyways, are you ready to go?”

“Hm? Oh yeah, we can go,” Bakugo said, finishing the last bite of his toast before pushing his plate away

They both stood up from the table, gathering their dirty dishes and placing them neatly on the dish tray counter near the exit. The cafe had grown a little busier

Leaving, Izuku held the door open for his amazing boyfriend, stepping aside with a small, proud smile. His mom had always taught him to be a gentleman, and moments like this made him happy to remember her lessons

Walking toward Bakugo’s house, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows on the sidewalk, they held hands comfortably. Izuku’s fingers intertwined with Bakugo’s, thumb gently stroking over his knuckles as he explained the details of a messy fight he’d gotten into over the last three days. Bakugo listened attentively, adding his usual sharp comments and gruff advice here and there, his grip steady and warm

When they were just two blocks away from his place, a sudden rush of police cars and ambulances sped past them, sirens blaring loudly and lights flashing bright red and blue against the buildings. The urgent wail cut through the peaceful street, making a few pedestrians stop and stare

Izuku turned to look at Bakugo. Bakugo was already staring right back at him, understanding passing between them without words

“I have to go,” Izuku said quietly, regret heavy in his voice

“Figured,” Bakugo replied, slowly letting go of his hand, fingers lingering for a moment longer

“I’ll be quick, promise.” Izuku leaned down and gave him a soft, quick peck on the lips, tasting the faint sweetness of chai still on them

“Be safe,” Bakugo murmured

Izuku nodded firmly, then darted into a narrow alleyway to quickly change. Moments later, he swung out into the open sky, mask securely in place

“Alright Nana, what do we have?” Izuku asked, voice steady as he followed close behind the speeding police cars

“There is a heist going on in the UFP financial group. A group of 5 men in masks have the civilians captive,” Nana’s calm, robotic voice responded through his suit

“Shit, do you have the blueprints of the bank by any chance?” Izuku asked, swinging faster through the city streets

“Positive,”

“Sweet! I need to see if there’s any vents that lead to the room.” Izuku swung from building to building, until he finally landed lightly on the rooftop of the bank, crouching low to stay out of sight

“There is a long vent from the back of the bank that leads to a room that’s attached to the main room,” Nana informed him

“Okay, show me, Nana.”

She projected the blueprint directly onto his mask’s HUD, the glowing blue lines zooming in on the building layout. Just as she said, a narrow ventilation shaft ran along the back, connecting to the side room

Izuku sprinted to the backside of the building and leaped off the edge, twisting mid-air to shoot a strong web at the wall. His eyes quickly spotted the vent grate from the blueprint. Dropping down carefully, he gripped the metal cover with his strength and pried it off with a low metallic groan. Peering inside the dark, narrow tunnel sent an immediate chill racing down his spine. “Here goes nothing,” he mumbled

He squeezed into the vent, cringing at the tight, claustrophobic space pressing in on him from all sides. Izuku had never been fond of small places, his claustrophobia always hit hard, but the thought of the scared civilians inside pushed him forward

“Nana, show me the way.”

He crawled as quickly and quietly as he could. After several tight turns and sharp corners that made his shoulders ache, he finally reached the end. Through the grate, he spotted only one masked man sitting in a chair, facing away toward the wall. Perfect

Opening the vent cover as silently as possible, Izuku slipped out and crept up behind the guy. He knocked him out cold, catching the limp body before it could hit the floor. He quickly disarmed the gun, tied the man securely with his web, and covered his mouth for good measure

Izuku pressed the spider emblem on the front of his suit. The small robotic spider detached and hovered in front of him. “Alright, go to the main room. I want to see where the robbers are and where they’re keeping the victims.”

The spider zipped away silently. A live feed instantly popped up on the screen inside Izuku’s mask. He watched carefully,  two masked men were pointing guns at a group of terrified civilians huddled on the floor, while the other two were aggressively shoving stacks of cash into large duffle bags

“How should I do this?” Izuku muttered, bringing a gloved hand up to his chin, mind racing. He had to make sure no one got hurt and no one escaped. His eyes landed on a young boy trembling among the hostages. “Nana, how many escape routes do these people have?”

“Only one. In an old blueprint from XXXX, it shows there’s a tunnel in this room that could take them twenty blocks from here.”

“Wait a minute-” Izuku glanced back at the tied up man who had been facing the wall. Maybe that was the direction. He walked over and pressed his hands against the surface, feeling for anything unusual. Nothing. He dropped to the floor and checked the far corner. There it was- a cleverly hidden trap door, almost invisible in the dim lighting. “I’ll wait for them here. Better than putting the victims in danger.”

Izuku positioned himself right over the hidden door, ready to strike the second they tried to flee. Thankfully, it didn’t take long. The moment the robbers noticed one of their own was missing and tied up, all four of them stormed into the room, guns raised

“Hello!” Izuku called out brightly

They all whipped around, pointing their weapons directly at him

“It’s not very nice to not say hi back,” Izuku sighed, shaking his head. He shot a thick web at one of them, instantly blinding the man

“Argh!” the robber yelled, clawing desperately at the sticky web that refused to budge

The other three opened fire. Izuku flipped out of the way with effortless grace, the bullets whizzing past him. He fired two more webs in quick succession, slamming two of the men together with a heavy thud

“I’ll go easy on you if you put your gun down,” Izuku promised. The last man shook his head and fired again. The bullet grazed the skin of his arm, a sharp sting blooming hot and immediate. Izuku hissed through clenched teeth, “They never listen”

Izuku walked up to the last man, effortlessly dodging every bullet fired his way, the shots cracking loudly through the room. “I did warn you,” he said, almost apologetic, before delivering a punch to the man’s face. The robber crumpled to the ground, knocked out cold

“You guys did the wrong thing today. Hopefully your time in prison will help you reflect on that,” Izuku muttered

After quickly tying all five of them together with thick, unbreakable webs, Izuku made his way to the hostages. The moment they saw him, relief flooded the room

“Spiderman!” several voices cried out at once

“You saved us!”

“Thank you, Spiderman!”

The young boy looked up at him with wide, starry eyes full of awe. Izuku crouched down in front of him, trying to make himself look smaller and less intimidating. “Hey, little guy.”

“H-hello,” the boy whispered shyly

“I saw that you were very brave for your mother,” Izuku said gently, glancing up at the woman behind him with a respectful nod. She offered a tired but grateful smile, rubbing her son’s back soothingly. “Your mother is very lucky to have such an amazing son.”

The boy’s face lit up with a wide, proud smile, nodding enthusiastically. “I want to be just like you, Spiderman! I want to save people and keep my mama safe!”

Izuku chuckled warmly, the sound soft through his mask. “You will be an amazing hero someday.” He looked up at the rest of the group before turning back to the boy. “Let’s get out of here. I bet the rest of your family is worried sick.”

They both nodded eagerly. Izuku stood back up, placing his hands on his hips. “Alright everyone, please head out front calmly. The police and ambulances are already waiting outside for you.”

“Is there anyone that is hurt or needs help getting out?” Izuku called out, scanning the group carefully.

“Me,” a security guard in the corner raised his hand weakly, wincing in pain. “One of them shot me in the leg earlier.”

Izuku moved over to him immediately, carefully helping the older man to his feet. The guard groaned as he put weight on his injured leg. “Thank you, Spiderman.”

“No problem, sir,” Izuku replied kindly, supporting most of his weight

“Shit-you sound so young. How old are you, Spiderman?”

“Can’t really say… but I’m above 18,” Izuku answered with a light laugh as he pushed the door open. Medics were already rushing toward them, taking the guard off his hands

Before they could wheel the man away, the guard grabbed Izuku’s hand with a firm grip. “Thank you, Spiderman. Really.”

“You’re welcome, sir. Get better soon,” Izuku nodded warmly, gently letting go so the medics could do their job

They even offered to check on him, but all he had was a shallow graze on his arm from the bullet. Still, they insisted on cleaning and bandaging it quickly. One of the female medics shyly asked for an autograph. She blushed deeply when he signed a small piece of paper for her and handed it back with a friendly nod

“Spiderman, always the first on scene,” a familiar deep voice called out from behind him

Izuku turned around, mask lenses narrowing slightly in recognition. “Captain,” he nodded respectfully, earning a warm smile from Masaru- his boyfriend’s dad

After dating Bakugo for a couple of weeks, Izuku had been shocked to discover that the respected captain of the police force was actually Katsuki’s father. No one had ever mentioned it. All he really knew was that Mitsuki was a successful fashion designer. The first time he’d properly met Captain Bakugo was during a brutal fight with Sandman, when someone had shouted “Captain Bakugo!” across the chaos. Izuku almost tripped over his feet when he heard that

“It always surprises me how much you get done,” Masaru said, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose with a small, impressed smile

“Well, you know me,” Izuku replied, rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet and pointing both thumbs at his own chest in a dramatic pose. “Spiderman always gets the job done.” He cringed hard on the inside, immediately regretting how cheesy that sounded

“Sure, Spiderman,” Masaru chuckled lightly, resting his hands on his police belt. “So, can you tell me what went down?”

“Yes, sir,” Izuku answered, instinctively giving him a quick, respectful salute. “I went through a vent from the back of the building, noticed one of the guys in a side room, and knocked him out. Then Nana pulled up an old blueprint that showed a secret tunnel. I waited for them there and took them down one by one.”

“Good, good,” Masaru nodded approvingly, then placed a firm, fatherly hand on Izuku’s shoulder. “I’m glad the police can finally work with you like this.”

“M-me too, sir,” Izuku stammered, a shy warmth spreading through his chest

“Just call me Masaru,” the captain said kindly, pulling his hand back with a gentle pat. “I better get going. Gotta head back to the family.”

“Right. I’ll see you around, si-Masaru,” Izuku corrected himself quickly and bowed politely before launching off the ground, swinging away into the city skyline

In record time, he made his way back to Bakugo’s house just like he had promised. His heart was already racing with anticipation as he landed softly on the familiar roof. He knocked lightly on the window, and it opened almost immediately. Bakugo’s strong hand reached out, grabbing him by the arm and dragging him inside with rough urgency

“Kacchan, what-” Izuku started, barely getting the words out

Bakugo wasted no time removing Izuku’s mask and pulling him into a deep, heated kiss. The sudden intensity made Izuku squeak in surprise, but his hands instinctively landed on Bakugo’s waist, gripping the fabric of his shirt as he melted into it

Bakugo eventually pulled back just enough to look at him, crimson eyes dark and intense. “Did you kick ass?”

“I kicked all of the ass,” Izuku replied with a breathless, goofy grin

Bakugo threw his head back and laughed, loud and genuine at the dumb response. Izuku took full advantage, leaning in to press warm, eager kisses along the side of his boyfriend’s neck. The action drew a low chuckle from Bakugo, the sound vibrating under Izuku’s lips. He kept smothering his neck with soft, affectionate kisses, slowly guiding them both backward until they tumbled onto Bakugo’s bed. Izuku landed on top of his boyfriend, still peppering him with kisses, their bodies pressed close

The door suddenly swung open. “Katsuki, your dad- oh god,” Mitsuki groaned, freezing in the doorway as she took in the sight of them tangled together on the bed

Izuku’s heart dropped straight into his stomach. His mouth opened and closed uselessly, trying to form some kind of explanation, but nothing came out. He was still fully dressed in his bright red and blue Spiderman suit, the spider emblem glaringly obvious on his chest

“M-mom, we can explain” Bakugo started, quickly sitting up and scrambling off the bed

Mitsuki lifted her hand, cutting him off with a tired sigh. “I don’t want to hear any of your kinks.” Her sharp gaze shifted over to Izuku, who was still frozen in place. “Please change, Izuku. We’re about to eat dinner.” Izuku nodded dumbly, face burning bright red as she closed the door with a firm click

“Kill me. Oh my god, just kill me,” Izuku groaned dramatically, voice muffled as he grabbed a pillow and smashed it over his flushed, burning face. He wished the ground would open up and swallow him whole, the embarrassment sitting heavy in his stomach

“My mom is never gonna let this go,” Bakugo muttered, sitting back down on the edge of the bed with a heavy sigh. He reached over and gave Izuku’s thigh a comforting, reassuring pat, his warm palm lingering for a moment. “Please change quickly before my mom gets any more ideas.”

Izuku stayed silent as he dragged himself up, cheeks still blazing red. He quickly pulled on some spare clothes he’d left at Bakugo’s place before– a soft, well worn hoodie and comfortable pants that smelled faintly of his boyfriend. Once he was dressed and slightly more composed, the couple made their way downstairs

Entering the dining room, Izuku tried his best not to make any eye contact with Mitsuki, the heat of embarrassment still crawling up his neck. Instead, he focused on Mr. Bakugo, Masaru. This was technically Izuku’s first time meeting him properly as himself and not as Spiderman. For the few times he’d stayed for dinner before, Masaru had always run late from work or taken extra hours at the station

“Ah! You must be Izuku!” Masaru exclaimed excitedly, standing up from his chair with a bright, genuine smile. He extended his hand for a firm handshake

“That is me. Hello, Mr. Bakugo,” Izuku replied politely, taking his hand and shaking it

Masaru’s eyes widened for a brief second. “You have a very strong grip, mister,” he chuckled warmly, finally letting go

“O-oh, I’m sorry,” Izuku apologized quickly, rubbing the back of his neck

“No worries at all,” Masaru waved him off kindly. “I’m glad that my son found such a strong and intelligent young man for himself.”

Izuku heard Bakugo groan loudly behind him, clearly mortified. “It’s nothing really…I’m the lucky one,” Izuku said softly

“Can we just eat?” Bakugo interrupted gruffly, grabbing Izuku’s hand and tugging him gently toward the table to sit down

Bakugo sat himself right next to Izuku, their thighs brushing under the table as he grabbed his chopsticks and started serving himself a generous portion of food. Masaru let out a warm, amused laugh at his son’s obvious embarrassment, settling back into his own seat. Mitsuki gracefully sat down beside her husband, looking far too pleased with herself

They all dug in. Izuku especially attacked his plate, he absolutely loved Mitsuki’s cooking. It was a very close second to his own mother’s

“So Izuku,” Mitsuki began casually, “you own a Spiderman suit”

Izuku choked hard on his rice, eyes widening as he started coughing and hitting his chest. Bakugo immediately reached over and patted his back firmly, shooting his mother a sharp glare. “Mom,” he hissed under his breath

“I’m just curious why he does,” Mitsuki shrugged innocently, taking a sip of her drink

“Spiderman suit?” Masaru tilted his head in confusion, glancing between them

“Don’t ask, Dad. Please,”

“Okay, I won’t…” he trailed off, taking a bite of his chicken. “Speaking of Spiderman, I actually met him today.”

“Did you?” Mitsuki perked up immediately

“Yeah, he’s much taller up close. And from his voice, he should be around your age,” Masaru said, glancing between Izuku and Bakugo. “I was very surprised when he spoke to me. Can’t believe a kid is out there saving people like that.”

“Poor kid,” Mitsuki added with a sympathetic sigh. “Hopefully all that stress doesn’t break him.”

“He’ll be fine,” Izuku blurted out without thinking. All three Bakugos turned to stare at him. “I-I bet Spiderman has many loved ones who’ll support him through it,” he added quickly, his gaze drifting to his boyfriend

Bakugo gave him a small, soft smile and a subtle nod of encouragement

“That’s w-what I think anyways. No one really knows Spiderman like that,” Izuku finished, poking at his food nervously

“Yeah… Well, I’m a very big fan of Spiderman!” Mitsuki declared brightly. “And we all know that Bakugo is a big fan himself,” she added with a playful wink at her son

Bakugo rolled his eyes, muttering something under his breath

“In the beginning I was a little skeptical, but he’s grown on me. So I guess I’m a fan too,” Masaru admitted with a chuckle. “What about you, Izuku?”

“Um, yeah. I’m a fan. He’s pretty cool,” Izuku shrugged, trying to sound casual

He heard Bakugo snort quietly beside him

“Oh yeah, very cool,” his boyfriend said dramatically, the corner of his mouth twitching with amusement

After that, the conversation shifted to lighter topics as they enjoyed the rest of their dinner in warm, comfortable chatter. When they were finally done eating, Mitsuki and Masaru insisted on handling the dishes themselves, waving the boys off with knowing smiles

“Okay, Izuku and I will go out then. I’ll be back soon,” Bakugo said, already pulling Izuku toward the door. He closed it firmly behind them

Like second nature, Izuku’s arm slid around Bakugo’s waist as they began walking down the quiet street, their bodies fitting together perfectly. “Did you want to get some dessert, Kacchan?”

“Fuck yeah,” Bakugo answered immediately. “Craving some tiramisu right now, but that place is a bit far for walking.”

“I can swing there with you,” Izuku suggested, green eyes lighting up with excitement

“Sure.”

Changing back into his suit behind a secluded building, Izuku felt the familiar material hug his body. Bakugo jumped onto his back without hesitation, wrapping his strong legs securely around Izuku’s waist and arms around his shoulders. “Let’s go, Spiderboy. And don’t drop me.”

“Of course, Kacchan,” Izuku replied with a soft laugh

Pointing at a nearby building, he shot a strong web and launched them into the night sky

“I’m glad that I got used to this. It’s actually very pretty,” Bakugo admitted, voice low near Izuku’s ear. In the beginning, he had been terrified every time Izuku scooped him up and swung through the city, but now he sometimes demanded these little trips himself

“Are we almost there, Izuku?”

“Yeah. Nana said we should be there in three minutes,” Izuku replied, adjusting his grip to keep Bakugo steady and safe

“Okay.” Bakugo rested his head comfortably on Izuku’s shoulder, staring down at the glittering city below them, the streams of car lights, the distant hum of the streets, and the peaceful quiet up here. For the next three minutes, they stayed like that in comfortable silence until Izuku landed smoothly in a nearby alleyway

Bakugo slid off his back, allowing Izuku to quickly change back into his regular clothes

“Let’s go,” Izuku said brightly, grabbing Bakugo’s hand and intertwining their fingers as they stepped out of the alleyway and into the cozy bakery. The sweet aroma of fresh pastries and coffee immediately welcomed them

The person behind the counter greeted them both with a friendly smile. Izuku returned it warmly as they approached

“Hi, can I please get two tiramisus?” Izuku asked politely

“Sure thing! Anything else?”

“Kacchan, do you want anything else?” Izuku turned to look at his boyfriend, who simply shook his head

“No, that’s it. Thanks,” Izuku told the cashier with a smile

The cashier rang them up and told them the total. Izuku paid quickly, and they were handed two beautifully packaged medium sized tiramisus in a sturdy bag, along with a cheerful “Have a good night!”

Izuku and Bakugo wished him a good night in return before making their way to a table outside

“Yes!” Bakugo cheered excitedly as he took the tiramisu from the bag, his usual tough demeanor cracking into a rare, boyish grin. “Been craving this all week!” He ripped open the container in a hurry, eyes lighting up

Izuku passed him a plastic spoon with a fond smile. Bakugo grabbed it with a quick “thanks” before eagerly dipping it in and taking a big, satisfying bite. His expression melted into pure bliss

Izuku watched him with a soft, loving smile, chin resting in his hand. His Kacchan was so cute like this- cheeks slightly puffed out, eyes half closed in contentment, completely absorbed in his favorite dessert. It made warmth bloom deep in Izuku’s chest

Noticing a pair of adoring eyes on him, Bakugo paused mid bite. He stared back at Izuku for a second before glancing down at the bag. “Are you not gonna eat your tiramisu?”

“Hm? Oh, no. I got two for you,” Izuku said casually, still smiling

“Don’t be fucking ridiculous. Eat some too,” Bakugo pouted, the expression unfairly adorable on his sharp features

“Fine, fine. I’ll take a couple of bites and you can have the rest. Deal?” Izuku offered, tilting his head

“Fucking deal,” Bakugo muttered, already going back to devouring his portion

Izuku chuckled softly at the response. He pulled out the second dessert from the bag, peeled open the container, and began eating slowly, while stealing glances at his boyfriend

He really loved his life as Spiderman
