Work Text:

Droplets of rain plundered the pellucid window, beaded with condensation and kissed by the droplets streaming furiously down the chilled yet lustrous glass. If it wasn't for the structurally sound build of the cottage, gallons of water would be rushing in.

The venetian blinds rattled and slapped against the glass, caused by the sheer force the thunder provided as it shook the ground. The storm was vicious; Those caught up outside might've been swept away by the current of the sea or worse. Could this be another motive of Monokuma's? He seemed to have control of almost everything on this island, hell, why not the damn weather!

At least, that is what Kazuichi Souda believed. It helped in a way. It had only been a few days after the first trial. After the death of two different people. Two lives meaninglessly taken! The gravity of the situation had sunk in long ago; And yet, the Mechanic couldn't comprehend how these events were so simply brushed off. How the others moved on so quickly. How fast they had grown accustomed to this cruelty. Sure, Kazuichi would go out to speak, interact with his peers; Socialize. But a large portion of himself had been sure it was, essentially, to mark himself as present.

In other words, not dead. 'Grow just likable enough to get rid of any targets on his back.’

This game, this hell, worsened his trust in others. Paranoia ate away at his very soul; Always looming over him like a dark cloud.

He felt as if he couldn't trust anyone. Could he be blamed for such a thing? He didn't trust anyone, even before. But that doesn't matter, does it! Even then, he made a promise to himself and Miss Sonia! He couldn't give up on her! Kazuichi couldn't help but wonder how she was doing.. She probably needed his help, or assistance, or.. No! She was perfectly capable. Maybe.. She was a princess, she was everything! A guiding light amidst all this darkness and despair. Absolute good in the world! Absolute perfection!

The bag clattered on the edge of the sink, tanned hands gripping either side of the object as fuchsia eyes stared into his reflection, brow twitching occasionally, eyes flickering up to his beanie. With a deep sated breath, the man would yank it off, and in one swift motion, long, pink locks crusading down his face. The arms of his neon jumper were tied around his waist, leaving behind the illusion of loose fitting and baggy pants, A cropped top finishing off his appearance.

 There was one glaring issue.

With a sigh of discontent, The Ultimate mechanic lowered his head, revealing the dark roots stemming from the base of his scalp. He had hardly been paying attention to the frantic growth of his hair! If anything, he thought he'd be losing it given the stress the game very often placed on him.
"Man.. 'What luck.."
He murmured, pinching the bridge on his nose, a hand feeling around for the bag placed just moments earlier. Inside, there was hair dye, brought the day before alongside a few other materials. Back at home, Souda couldn't afford anything permanent. Maybe that was a good thing, lest it kill his hair. Thus, dye washed out easily.

Frequent coloring and obsessive observations had become common reoccurrences. The dye would vanish almost immediately in a steamed shower. Never when it was cold. However, given the recent events, there were bigger things to worry about..

If so, then why did this feel so important?

For a moment, his face soured whilst he stared at the label, studying its contents. Suddenly, he froze. Again, his gaze would flicker to his reflection, grip tightening on the small bottle he held.

It was then, he'd realize. He looked so different.

A part of himself tried to convince him, desperately so, that this is what he wanted. This is who he was, who he became by will. That he was secure. That he succeeded.

But it was all but what he wanted.

For a moment, his grip faltered. He leaned in, eyes narrowing as if trying to put a name to his own face, and..

The violent roar of thunder had snapped him out of this deadly trance, the boy's breath hitching violently. As a result, his grip had tightened significantly on the small container, and just like that, the lid would soar.

First it hit the wall, alongside its contents, leaving a pink splooge smeared against the wood, dribbling down slowly. At first, Souda watched.

Kazuichi murmured a curse, "Cheap..  Piece of.....Gah'.." moving quickly, albeit without thinking, swiping his bare hand over the damage, further worsening the mess. Upon further realization, perhaps that hadn't been the best move. To maintain damage control, Souda was quick to turn the knob on the sink, hot water enveloping his hands.

He was shaking. Why? Why am I shaking? he thought. Even as he maneuvered his hand together, they wouldn't cease their tremble, only doubling in intensity.

Eventually, it traveled up to his shoulders.

He watched as the water grew and tinted pink, bellowing and rippling.

His breathing mimicked the frantic vibrations of his hands.

Pull yourself together.

Even as he scolded himself, his vision had blurred.

Weakness. Distrust. He didn't know the man in the mirror, not anymore. how warped and perverse.. How sick. But it helped him, no? According to his own philosophy, that is. He appeared self assured and behaved, oh, so self eccentric. So satisfied with who he was, and maybe, by doing this, he wouldn't have to risk enduring the betrayal of those he might've considered his friends.

He'd ward away those who sought to take advantage of him. A harsh betrayal would only affirm who he truly was. A loser. Always that loser that once looked back at him in the mirror, mocking him. deluding him.

If the one person he trusted most believed he was worthy of abuse, Then what was the point of trusting anyone else. It would hurt him, ultimately.

This life didn't come without consequences. Ever since undergoing these alterations, he attracted the wrong crowd. Delinquents. Girls who loved this fantasy of him, and the thought, the sheer notion, was frightening!

And even now, despite this facade.. He was scared. Terrified. A target.

This game brought out the worst in him. That 'Worst' being the same boy he was, all those years ago.

Again.. A target, and a tool, waiting to be used.

Souda nearly missed the way the sink had begun to overflow, and only then, did the sound of water sloshing against that glossy floor did the illusion fade. He'd inhale sharply, as if he were being choked, deprived that natural right of air. Had he really been holding his breath all that time?

The water dribbled down his fingertips as he stared into the rippling current. He couldn't move, not really. Gradually, he'd lift his head, Eyes wide as he stared into the mirror before him. For a moment, his expression soured.

He was there, yet again. And he missed him. He shouldn't but he did. Though his appearance gave him security and safety, he found himself dissatisfied. But he swore to himself, he'd hide that version of himself away from the world, the weakling.

It was only merciful.

"Why can't you enjoy it."
The ultimate spoke between gritted teeth and shaking hands, his nails biting into his palms. What evoked this sudden breakdown? The game? The mirror? The memory of who he once was?

It was pathetic. It was showing. 'keep acting like this, and you'll be another target. a tool.’

Souda tore his gaze from the reflective surface. He didn't bother cleaning the mess. He figured he'd sit on that couch and veg out for the rest of the night.. He'd get more, eventually. Maybe in the morning, he told himself, before pulling his signature beanie over his head.

Before Kazuichi could make it to the couch, his eyes briefly flickered towards the blinds. Would the storm pass anytime soon? At all? And so, with the question in mind, he used two of his fingers to sever the blinds, exposing himself to the harsh reality outside. The wind, blowing so quickly and intensely, could cause whiplash. Trees swayed and leaned as if they were bound to be torn from their roots and..

Kazuichi paused.

In the distance, he saw a familiar figure.

Or rather, a familiar foe.

Gundham, in the distance, arms crossed over one another whilst he roamed the docks.

"The hell.."
Souda murmured, leaning in.. He was roaming. Aimlessly. For a moment, a toothy grin rose upon his lips, nearly touching his eyes. Serves him right, for all the times he's done him wrong! However, Upon further observation he seemed to be shielding something; and of course, that had to be his Four Dark.. Whatever's.

Tanaka seemed as if he held no regard for himself, but those hamsters he kept at his sides. What was his deal? For a moment, Kazuichi thought to do the 'Rational' thing, Close the blinds, Eat some food and pass out.

But something held him back.

What if he was right. What if this was the motive? If he were to leave Tanaka out there in this storm, And he wound up dead; A trial would ensue. Lives, taken out of desperation. Guilt would've eaten at him for the rest of his life! No matter how much he hated the guy, Kazuichi prided himself on morals..

Kind of.

Besides, animals were involved. Not that Gundham didn't qualify as one himself in Kazuichi's playbook..

So, with one deliberate motion, he turned, snatching his beanie up before heading for the door, firmly gripping the knob before swinging the thing open.. Well, not so much to his own volition— Considering the way the wind forced it open, nearly knocking him into the violent typhoon. The Ultimate Mechanic lifted an arm, shielding his face from the rain and whiplash he would be exposed to whilst he spoke—

"Yo! 'Jerk! What the hell do you think you're doing out there, Eh'!?"
His voice was nearly swallowed by the distant roar of waves, the wind crowding his ears and providing those who cared to stand around a natural tone deafener. To his own surprise, Tanaka made out his words, those piercing eyes meeting with his own. Despite his situation, The ultimate breeder appeared unmoving, Two arms crossed over his broad chest as he glared at the other male.
"In case you haven't noticed, there's like- A crazy storm going on! Go inside or something! What're you doing, man! " Souda gestured frantically toward the heavens, flinching suddenly as thunder shook their surroundings.

"I've taken note!"
Tanaka's voice rang out, brazen and powerful despite the storm. "-But incase you have not— There seems to be a primordial entity preventing my coverage."

"A- prim- What!" Kazuichi shouted, before he tore his gaze elsewhere. His eyes met with the unusual sight before him, that, being an enormous palm tree blocking off the door to Gundham's cottage. The mechanic blinked once, twice, before gritting his teeth— And between them he bit out,

"You've got to be kidding me.."

Their situation was.. perverse. For a moment, Kazuichi only stood, observing the breeder. God, he didn't have time for this.

     "No matter."
The Overlord smirked, A bandaged hand reaching up to more firmly secure the scarf against his neck, the fabric seeming to rustle, the ends flowing within the wind. It looked almost magical!
"I shall wait out this maelstrom— And I assure you, Kazuichi Souda, that I, Gundham Tanaka, The Supreme Overlord Of Ice, will come out victorious. Your mortal concerns are.. needless."

     Kazuichi's eyes would twitch.
Concerns? Mortal? Mortal concerns? His audacity!
What was with this guy! He was so.. Weird! How come Miss Sonia would rather be seen with him! The thought angered the mechanic, his hands closing into a fist. Just then, one of the breeders— So called— Dark Deva's would rear its small head from beneath that dampened fabric. Its tiny body trembled, the onslaught of wind of rain providing no help against its desperate situation.

Despite the confidence he displayed, Souda could make out that oh-so familiar look of worry, or rather, nerves, on Tanaka's typically stoic face. His eyes momentarily flickered towards the small rodent, a finger coming up to grope between its ears.

For a moment, Kazuichi thought to go back on his earlier thoughts. He was busy! He.. Had things to do? Possibly? Whatever. If he didn't offer any assistance, Tanaka might've become the next victim.

Or worse, Miss Sonia would've offered her own assistance! That was certainly the worst case scenario!

"Hey," The mechanic started, Voice giving way, "Unless you wanna be peeling your hamsters off of a tree in the morning, You better come inside or something! You can't stay out there, not in this weather!"

The two held their gazes. For a moment, the ultimate breeder opened his mouth to speak. Maybe a witty quip, a declaration of pride, but suddenly, he'd pause. His eyes momentarily drifting toward his scarf.

A huff of defeat.

So, with his head held high, arms crossed over his chest, he would allow himself entry. Kazuichi stepped aside, watching with malice and mild irritation, before the ends of the scarf provided him a wet slap in the face.
The mechanic shuddered, shoulders tense whilst he shot a look of annoyance at the breeder. Looking past his own frustration, Souda directed his efforts on closing the door, which proved a challenge as the wind rushed in, knocking over blueprints and other valuable items.. in Kazuichi's eyes.

So, with one last effort, the door swung to a close, leaving Kazuichi to nearly topple over. The mechanic took a few shallow breaths before his eyes met with the back of Gundham's head.

"Hey— You're tracking water everywhere, Jerk!"
In retrospect, there wasn't much Tanaka could do about that, was there? However, the overlord did not reply. He seemed to be searching the room, whilst simultaneously coaxing his Deva's from the thick fabric around his neck, each one traversing down his left arm into his bandaged palm, huddled together for what Kazuichi assumed, was warmth. Just then, Gundham's head whipped around, and for a moment, their eyes met.

Never had Kazuichi seen this eccentric creep in such a.. State. Damp, thick strands of hair clouded his vision. Just that minor difference made him look so.. Well.. Different! His features seemed much more pronounced, and somehow, his eyes, kinder. Human, almost. He looked..

What was he thinking!

His face seemed to scrunch up suddenly, eyes darting towards the unfinished projects, mechanical instruments, and oils scattered across the floor.

Kazuichi hadn't been prepared for visitors. Not that he cared what Gundham thought or anything!

Just then, the breeder took off into Kazuichi's bathroom. The mechanic blinked twice before going after the taller male— A closed fist banging against the hardened wood.
"H-hey! What are you doing!? I never said to make yourself at home- And I never said that you could use my bathroom, Prick-"
And before the other could finish, again, The door swung open, Gundham nearly towering over the ultimate. Still, he paid him no mind, the only difference in his own appearance being a towel within his grasp.

The overlord approached a table, cluttered with schematics and trinkets, and in one swift motion, sent them clattering to the glossy and wet floor. A screwdriver was tossed over his shoulder in which Kazuichi's hand would fly up to capture it, not without a brief fumble, it’s flat edge nearly slicing his palms.

"What the fuck, Tanaka!"
Souda growled, pinching the bridge of his nose. On this particular night, his nerves wore thin. However, his arms remained glued to his sides. If he took the chance to move or react, he probably would've laid hands on the other.. Not that he'd win.

The looming gooseneck lamp flickered on shortly after, the towel carefully spread out amongst the table, into a spiral formation, and then, in the middle of that pattern, Tanaka carefully placed his Dark Deva's.

Finally, Kazuichi allowed himself the luxury of speech.

"Hey- Do you know how difficult those blueprints are to come up with! Look," he'd gesture toward the damp floor, "They're all wet! Because of you! Do you even-"

"Your tone is grating on both mine and my Four Dark Deva's of Destruction's ears. Supernova Silver Fox, San-D, grows tired of your irritable howls, Describing it as if the souls of the unfortunate had begun to claw their ways out of hell! You must refrain from speaking... Entirely."
The breeder spared the mechanic a cold glare, holding that look for a long while.

"I will now depart."
—  "Depart!?"
"Mirage Golden Hawk, Jum-P, will be keeping a watchful eye on you." The ultimate gestured carelessly.

Before Kazuichi could process his words, Tanaka was on the move. So, he himself began to move quickly, a hand curling around the thick fabric that shielded his flesh, using it to spin him around and pull the other down to his level-

"You're not going anywhere, creep! I'm not watching your rodents, they ain't watchin' me, but I'm sure as hell watchin' you!"

The two held eye contact for a long while. Kazuichi could feel droplets of water traveling drown his forearm, stemming from Gundham's dampened locks, even his scarf, given the wet squelch that emerged as Souda's grip tightened on the fabric.

Gundham's discolored eyes had narrowed into slits, the back of his hand coming up to swat the others away, rising to his full height. He cast a shadow over the other male. Yet, his eyes held no disdain. No disgust. In fact, they seemed curious. Eager. Was that blush?

"Now, I've got a couple questions to ask you!"

...No reply. A stoic glare, those eyes skimming his entire being from top to bottom.

Why did he feel anxious, all of a sudden? Was inviting him inside the right choice? Maybe he should've let him leave. His gaze was pretty menacing, on second thought..!

"W- Why were you outside before the storm, in the first place! What were you planning, huh!"

"Scheming? What need have I for a scheme? You are quite dull witted, For an.. Ultimate mechanic." The ultimate breeder spat, His words holding a.. Lack of venom.

With a frustration directed toward his dramatics and.. Him in general, Kazuichi's hand flew up to grip at the ridges of his beanie, intending to strain the fabric, however, He felt nothing. He felt hair. His hair! Another flew up, cupping his crown. He could feel the blood draining from his body, his complexion now a seemingly dull shade of grey.. How didn't he notice? Is this the reason why Tanaka had begun to stare so hard! It must've come off during the period he opened the door.
"G-Gh..!"
Kazuichi stammered. He felt so.. Exposed! A certain feeling would begin to build within his gut.. What was it? And why did it feel so...familiar? Tanaka only watched, brows furrowed as Kazuichi endured his own internal cycle of grief.

"But if you must know," He continued despite Kazuichi's panic, "The She-cat and I were engaging in mutual Talk, despite my own misgivings. Alas, The Gods of the overworld would soon damn us, putting an end to our glamour!"

Kazuichi's eyes, again, met the others. The two were silent. Sonia?

Them?

Again?

Alone?

Together?

A princess, A goddess, and a damn weirdo..

The screwdriver suddenly felt heavy in his hand, a force keeping him grounded, a force he must overcome. It was as if something clicked, creaking within the depths of his brain, creating white noise and obscuring sensible thought..

         "M-Miss Sonia..?"
Souda stammered, his lips then pressing into a thin line as he met Tanaka's eyes.

What did he see in those eyes? He saw himself.

He saw a weak, nimble tool.
Only a hollow shell of the boy he once was; A target. The boy meant to be used and thrown away like a wet wipe. It was as if the breeder's gaze had... shifted. Into something predatory. Evil, as he claimed himself to be. Mocking and cruel. Perverse. It couldn't be in his head; Why was this happening? Even the biggest creep here was mocking him! Was that it?

Why couldn't he escape it? Why couldn't he escape the cruel jeers and taunts from his peers, No matter what he did, No matter what changed!

The ringing in his ears was unbearable .

He wanted it to stop.

He wanted the mockery, the teasing, and more importantly, the usage to end.

He hated them all; Those who did this to him, who used him, who betrayed him.. All humans were like that, weren't they? Did anyone on this island deserve to escape? 'Deserve to live? Did he himself deserve to live?

And with a sudden surge of anger built up by stress and Paranoia, The mechanic would roar;

"What the hell do you have- That I- Don't!"
His outburst was profound, undignified, A wreck, unlike the Kazuichi Souda he showed the world. His arms waved about whilst the screwdriver remained firmly planted within his grip.

"You're the island's biggest freak.. The island's biggest weirdo n' yet she insists on staying next to you! What do you have, Tanaka! Why do they bother with you!"

Tears pricked at the corner of the mechanic's eyes as he took a step forth. Gundham, on the other hand, remained unmoving. However, his eyes would narrow. He'd fallen shockingly silent, given his exaggerated character. Briefly, his gaze flickered back to the unkempt hair resting on Kazuichi's head. Those darkened roots. Souda didn't miss that motion, suddenly hyper-aware, yet so oblivious to his surroundings.

"What? Did you notice? Of course you did. I've had to change myself— so many times, to get people to like me! I even changed myself to look like a fuckin' dick so others wouldn't try to fool me, but no! They see through it, they all do! You're twice the freak than I am, S- So why!"

It wasn't until his fist bunched up within the breeder's top, and with a sudden burst of strength, The ultimate was shoved up against the wall, sending numerous items clattering to the floor. The thunder rumbled the ground beneath the two young men.

Souda's trembling hands remained bunched within his shirt, even as two cold, thin fingers curled around his thin wrist. His grip was far from bruising, yet firm; The cold steel of the mechanical instrument pressing into Gundham’s chest, Leaving a thin, red line on his flesh.

"G-gh— Kazuichi, N-Need i put an end to your ridiculous ramblings!"
There wasn't much to say. Little time to process the way he flipped his switch. Despite his typical bravado and grandeur, Tanaka found himself stumped. Kazuichi.. He wasn't himself. Souda looked up to meet Gundham's Gaze, And yet that didn't stop the shaking of his hands, the way his fingers adjusted its grip on the screwdriver.

"Are you freaked out too? Good. I-I'm... m'not weak! I'm not that same naive boy you can just take advantage of— You can't push me around anymore!" He'd grit his teeth, the screwdriver, always an omnipresent item in this situation, again, felt heavy. It felt right.

"Why do they look the other way? Don't they like the way I act? The way I talk?   The way I- I.. S- Say something, Tanaka! Why don't you feel the need to stop being a fucking.. Creep! Why does she like you! Why do they tolerate you!"
His eyes tore from the others. He could feel hot tears built from years or rage and frustration streaming down his cheeks, glimmering within the dim light of the cottage. He could feel Gundham's stoic gaze on him, those unreadable eyes once filled with emotion and pride. Even then, the mystery of what he was feeling did not stifle Kazuichi's paranoia.

Gradually, and against his better judgement, Kazuichi lifted the screwdriver with trembling hands, clammy palms, all logic and reason going out of the window. He felt like a rusted machine ; His movements slow and mechanical, his mind racing. Why wouldn't Tanaka move?

"I can't die here."

His breath hitched as a sob tore throughout his lean body; His entire being vibrating with nerves. He couldn't bare to meet the other's eyes.

"I can't die without making a name for myself. 'Without getting somewhere.. 'Without having some kind of connection.. I've heard your fucking talks with Miss Sonia— You've done so much for yourself. Saved some damn animals, Your.. experiments. You're selfish, man."

The cool edge of the mechanical tool pressed against the exposed skin of Tanaka's flesh, and even then, he didn't move, not even as it slipped beneath the scarf. Not even as it tickled his collarbone, Not even as it grazed his jugular..

"So fucking selfish."

Suddenly, Gundham moved. It was a singular twisted motion, however, using the leverage on Kazuichi's thin wrist, The breeder had tightened his grip, using that to bend his arm at an uncomfortable angle. And so, With a sound of unadulterated pain, the grip on the weapon had loosened, joining the mess on the floor.

Again, silence wavered throughout the cottage. Souda's hand would grip his own shoulder, intending to soothe the ache brought upon him. He'd blink once, twice, barely getting the chance to process what happened, before finally looking at the other.

Nobody's ever looked at Kazuichi like that before.

Nobody's ever looked at him with such concern. Even as it mixed with discomfort, and.. strongest of all, amusement. Curiosity.

Tanaka's arms would take it’s place, crossing over his broad chest once again. He didn't move to speak, but Kazuichi did. Not an apology, But a bucket of iced water dumped over his head.

"Fuck."
He murmured, At first directed toward the pain, And only after did the duality of the situation begin to sink in.

He almost killed someone.

He had his own motive. It wasn't Monokuma doing this to him, it wasn't what was in the air..

It was jealousy.

Gundham was.. Gundham Tanaka. The 'Supreme Overlord Of Ice'.

..And he wasn't ashamed of it. He was unapologetically, him. He wouldn't change for anyone else.

He nearly killed a man out of jealousy. No.

 Envy.
Envy was his motive.

"Oh, fuck.."
Souda repeated, and again, those tears had begun flowing freely down his cheeks. He couldn't say anything else. Everything blurred around him as he struggled desperately to process his own actions. He felt sick, guilt bubbling within the very pits of his gut. His legs, once so strong, suddenly felt feeble beneath his weight. And so, like a house hollowed away by termites, he collapsed, knees hitting the floor with a dull thud. He brought his hands up to his mouth, head hanging low whilst he desperately stifled his cries, consistent and violent as tremors and sobs rippled through his being.

He felt embarrassed. He felt like a monster. He really was weak. An insecure, little boy.

Why was Tanaka still here, Anyways?

It wouldn't be ridiculous if he now acted in self defense. If he went off to warn the others about how dangerous he was. How unstable he had grown. The thought worsened his cries; As he came to the realization that he was ruined. Forever.

Suddenly, a deep and reverent voice emerged from above him;

"On your feet."
—The breeder spoke. Souda flinched back at the sound, his head lifting, teary eyes meeting the others. He was barely a few inches away from the man.
"This emotion looks pathetic on you.. Though, I expect very little from a measly mortal."

Even then, even after everything, Gundham's attitude hadn't dropped.

"W- what the hell-.. Leave, just.."
Kazuichi didn't finish, in fear his waterworks would just start up. Reluctantly, And like a fawn on her new legs, He forced himself to stand upright, a hand gripping the wall of the cottage.

That silence.

Kazuichi wouldn't let it grow again.

     "I'm.. shit, I'm.. I'm.."
The word 'Sorry' remained stuck in his throat.  Still, he could hardly grapple with the reality of what he's just done. He couldn't just apologize. 'Couldn't just move on. Gundham eyed the other.

"Spare me your needless sorrow. It seems your obsession with the She-cat has reached its peak."
The man spoke, scarf hanging low whilst he passed the other male carelessly, as if an attempt against his life had never occurred. Instead, he stood over his Dark Deva's, now resting against one another in a tight circle.

"S..she..? Miss Sonia? No, not.."
Souda's brows would furrow. He didn't have the energy to argue. Nor did he want to explain his thought process, Not that he could in the first place.

"So.. So what are you gonna do? Gonna' run off? 'Tell the others?"
A part of Kazuichi wanted to beg for the latter. However, deep down, a part of himself ate at his very soul.

"Go ahead.."
The part that told him that he deserved it. And he wouldn't be wrong. He believed himself to be dangerous. Just like everyone back at home assumed he was.. No wonder everyone avoided him. Even now.

A snicker emerged from across his position. Gundham had this smirk on his face as he spoke,
"I harbor very little interest in mouthing about, regarding your.. premediated sin."

—"Am I supposed to believe that?" Kazuichi intended to raise his voice, and yet, all that came out was a measly rodents squeak. His throat was sore from yelling, crying. His lower lip curled.

"H-Humans are opportunistic critters that will stab you in the back whenever it benefits them!"
—"Yet I am no mere 'human'."

"Are you-!.. Damn it Tanaka- y.."
Kazuichi stopped, releasing a shaky sigh. There was no getting through to him, not even after he almost killed him! He failed in bridging that silence, is what he initially believed, before the other spoke.

"However, for a babbling fool, That, You are correct. Mortals are insignificant pests who exist only to fuel their own best interest.. That being established, you do not believe that."

—"What? W- who the hell are you to tell me what I think-"

"If you did honor your own thoughts, you would not be so tenacious in reference to the She-Cat."

Kazuichi blinked, before his brows furrowed in sheer irritation.
"Yea? Well, what did you expect! She's an exception! She's a princess! P-Princesses are symbols of trust and generosity, and.."
Souda refused to say anything more. He refused to admit that it wasn't miss Sonia; But Tanaka. Tanaka drove him insane. ‘Mad with envy. How confident he was in himself. How unapologetic, how he refused to change for the likeliness of anyone else, even if it cost him his social relationships. It was admirable, and yet.. Kazuichi craved that human connection, that, and validation. Praise.

He needed people to like him. So, he'd change forms, in hope something would click.

"Tch'. Fool. You enjoy the concept of Sonia."

And for the third time that night, that silence wavered between the ultimates. Gundham only continued.
—"She is like any other on this cursed island, Perhaps your reputation would hold if you embraced. You care far too much."

..Why did that sound like actual advice? A shitty and albeit dramatic way to say it, but nonetheless.

"I- just.. Just..!"
The mechanic could barely get what he wanted out before he turned, heading for the Restroom. Despite being the perpetrator, he couldn't bare being in the same room as him. Not after what just happened. Not when he was acting like everything was fine! The door swung open, and then, would shut violently, shaking the frame, The lock turning with a resounding click.

Inside, it was silent, save for the bullet-like-raindrops crusading down on the narrow windows, the howling and roaring of wind echoing throughout the confined space. The mechanic's back would hit the wall with a soft thud, before he slowly let himself gather on the floor.

This was pathetic, and Tanaka was right, worst of all.

Why was that so hard to accept?

So, pathetically, he gathered his head within his palms, his shoulders shaking with the force of his tremorous cries. He knew it was useless, ‘Knew it was unreasonable, he wasn't the victim here! And yet, they kept coming. The guilt wouldn't waver. The fear, the hysterics. The mirror loomed feet across him, an unconscious force against his character. He couldn't bear to look at it. He couldn’t bear to look at himself.

 He hated both of them

He could no longer put a name to the face in the mirror.

After what felt like hours, there was a knock at the door. Three, distinct knocks. Kazuichi's shoulders drew up tight almost instantly. And then, that familiar voice.

"Kazuichi. Let down your barrier."

Why wouldn't he let up? What could he possibly have to offer? And so, reluctantly, Souda scrambled to his feet. He didn't unlock the door, not yet.

"S-screw off, man! Why are you still.."
There wasn't really anywhere else he could demand Gundham could go. Like himself, he was an outcast, as Tanaka himself reiterated numerous times.

"Leaving a mortal as.. Remote as yourself in isolation, In such a state would be unwise. Notably after your outburst. Thus, I will stay."

"What're you even getting at man.. I- I.. nearly killed you!" Asked the mechanic, despite the rasp in his voice.
—"I believe I reiterated your query. In.. In other words, I admire your.. Zest. For life."

There was a pause, a moment of silence on both sides.

"Zest for.. Tanaka! are ya' commending me for almost taking you out!"

There was a low chuckle from the other side, and then, the doors frame shifted, as if pressure had suddenly been applied. Assumingly, Tanaka had begun to lean upon the door. Kazuichi could almost feel the heat radiating off of his body from the other side.

"Tch. Fool. You only sought what you deemed fit. Destiny was within your very grasp. Even if your methods are unsavory. However, being The Ultimate Breeder, I've seen the best and the worst of the animal kingdom."

— "Yeah? And what about it?"
Kazuichi raised a palm, wiping at his reddened cheeks furiously. The tears smeared across his skin, leaving behind glistening marks of moisture. A soft groan came from the other side.

"That being said, those who want it badly enough do whatever it takes to survive. However, it is unacceptable to simply lie and await your end! Otherwise, you are insulting life itself.. Thus, needless murder is unacceptable. Regardless of your motive."

"And now you're shamin' me!? Pick a side, Dick!"
Frustration would've begun to build within his gut if he wasn't so tired. So, the breath he had been holding in slowly left him.

"Wench. You are quite the mixed bag."
— "Me!? Look at yourself-"

"I cannot decipher if your actions are commendable. You insist on dwelling on the past, which is not uncommon for mere mortals in light of possessing such puny life spans — But that being said, You too try to hold onto what is in your grasp.."
To the mechanic's surprise, Gundham.. Laughed. A genuine laugh. Well, as genuine as it could get for someone like him.

"Fwahaha! How curious! You are like a puzzle, Awaiting fixation!"

For a moment, Kazuichi's hands curled into weakly bunched fists before he let go. Was this mockery, or something else entirely? So, with that thought in mind he sighed deeply once again, pressing his back against the door.

"At least you are not awaiting your extermination."

"Yeah? Nobody is."

A beat passed between the young men. It was uncomfortable. Unwelcome. Exemplified by the heavy pour of rain. Just as the thought entered his mind, Tanaka, again, vocalized.

"Your life is much too short. You are foolish. You mustn't cling onto your past, Kazuichi."

"W.. what are you sayin' now, creep."
His voice lacked conviction or general malice. All that registered was exhaustion.

"-During your.. Paroxysm, I happened to find that you were influenced by your past, No? It is pathetic. The past cannot be changed."

..

"What you just did cannot be changed."

Again, Kazuichi's brows would furrow. There it was again. but to his complete and utter dismay,, he couldn't blame the guy.

"..However.. you did seem Enamoured with the idea of the future. That is commendable. So do not dwell on your past."
—  "The past is important, dude."
— "False."
— "Ah- Un-False! How will you learn from your mistakes, Huh? Don't you think about your past? An embarrassing moment? You can't say you haven't thought back once and.. Well.. ‘Wished you could've changed something! 'Picked a better choice, y’know..."

"I am The Supreme Overlord Of Ice. What need have I, to dwell, For all I desire, is solitude."

..That was a hard lie on Kazuichi's ears. "Nobody 'desires' any kinda' loneliness."

"Then why are you barricaded by your lonesome?"

Again, the mechanic fell silent, shoulders drawn tight whilst his arms crossed over his broad chest.

"You know why. You're really so fine with the fact that I tried to kill you!?"

"I do not care. As if many insects have not made the attempt beforehand! Do you truly believe that a mere mortal could kill off Gundham Tanaka? Let alone, Kazuichi Souda. Think again! Now, spit it out. What is so significant about that past- So much so, You insist on bringing up its meager existence."

 Ouch.
So, the 'Overlord' really wouldn't leave, is that so? But even then, Kazuichi knew better. Or, so, he thought he did.

"..Like I said, Tanaka. Humans are disloyal critters waiting to stab ya' in the back! no way am I tellin' you anything."

"Yes, That is so. And as I said before, then it is fortunate; That I am no Human."

Kazuichi opened his mouth to refute.. But it quickly snapped shut. With a slow and precise movement, Kazuichi turned, pressing his shoulder up against the door, his head lolling to the side, resting amongst the wood.

"S- So you really do agree, Huh? Well.. m’not surprised, Given your whole shtick. Tanaka. I- I'm.. Not the type to betray anyone. I wouldn't betray a creep like yourself, if you ever.."
he trailed off. His palms suddenly felt clammy. After a moment, a sound of resignation emerged.

"That is a nice line."

Kazuichi sighed, his hands coming up to grip at his hair.

"I.. I was treated more as a.. target. During my earlier years. A real dork. Nerdy, classic-ass glasses, a pushover.."
The words fell from The mechanic's mouth before he could stop them, and even now? He held no intention to do so. He felt as if this needed to happen. He needed to get this off of his chest, and now, lest he find himself within another.. episode.
"I- I thought I finally made a friend. I was stoked and all, But, of course like any other asshole he began avoiding me after an.. Ah.. E- event. I used to think that there was a reason for the way I was treated. I thought.. That I was the issue. I didn't want to feel that pain ever again, So, I.."

Briefly, His gaze flickered over towards the mirror.

"I changed myself. Dyed my hair, filed my teeth, with the goal to tell those kinds of people to.. Y'know. Back off, but.. I- I'm.. I thought I'd be happy with how I iturned out. How I look but, I.. God, it's the exact opposite. I miss the way things were before. The way I looked before, but i can’t help but feel like that's the.. weaker me. The me that's bound to be used and.. pushed around. If I go back now, m'Just askin' for it.."

Kazuichi would inhale deeply, finally catching his breath. And with one more low declaration, He admitted,

"But no matter what I do, I can't seem to earn the likes of.. others. no matter how I change. No matter what I change. My personality, nothing."

After a moment, The breeder replied, his response somewhat stammered, unusually the Supreme Overlord Of Ice, Typically so reserved.

"You.. You speak of appearances?"
He had to clear his throat, and for a moment it seemed he pushed further from the door, which caused Kazuichi to seize up. Gently, he placed a shaking hand against the barricade. Had he spoken too much? God, he knew this would happen!

"I will say this once, Human, And I do not offer such infinite wisdom so lightly."

..The mechanic blinked, pressing himself further against the door.

"Your soul resembles the shapeshifting beasts of Madagascar."

Kazuichi scoffed, His face scrunching up.
"Are- what are you.. Jeez, your wisdom is terrible." The ultimate bit back, yet he couldn't help the subtle smirk that had begun to creep up his lips.

"Fool!"
The other bit, suddenly sounding so serious..
"You shan't take such words so lightly, lest you are begging for damnation!  Chameleons are notorious for blending into the habitats they are given, often, to avoid danger. They do not bond with humans as they do any other household pet. That being said, In order to ward off predators, they command themselves to appear bigger than they are. They take brighter forms, utilize unusual tactics to survive.. They force themselves to become what they are not, and yet.."

After Gundham drifted into a sudden silence, Souda took it upon himself to speak, and yet, just like the other, he found himself stumbling over his words.

"S- So you compared me to some gross reptile. Nice Wisdom, Weirdo."

The other grumbled something from the other side, and then, he spoke clearly, nearly biting his words as they left his mouth, Every syllable;

"No matter what form they take, they remain  a fascinating, beautiful and intelligent beast, Despite their.. Quickness to stress. It is nice that they do not let predators take at least that away from them, no matter how hard they must try, Yes?"

Kazuichi blinked once. Twice, to process.

He felt hot. Red-hot; Like he was burning up! Had he caught a sudden fever? He swore he made sure the windows were shut.. the mechanics palms had begun to tremble, as he tore himself from the door. Had Gundham truly..?

"A- Ah'.. Tanaka- I'm.. m' gonna shower!"

"I- I see. Very well then!"

Souda could almost hear the way he pulled that scarf over his mouth.. His lips.

So, the young man hurried. He needed a hot shower. Something to whip him back into shape; He looked like a damn mess. So, he'd turn the knob, allowing a cold spurt of water to gradually emerge right before the temperature raised dramatically, passing the mirror with his head down, shimmying out of his typical Neon jump-suit, pulling that undertop over-head, and finally, kicking off his boxers before immediately jumping into the tub.

At first, the water bit at his flesh, he was burning up! But it was all for the better! He had.. much to think about, and maybe this would clear his mind.

With a defeated sigh, Kazuichi positioned his head beneath the shower head momentarily before pressing his temporal against the wall. He was screwed. So screwed.

Did Gundham.. Compliment him? Flirt with him? Evaluate his character using a fucking pest! Kazuichi had no idea if he should be offended or flattered! Even then, it choked him up. It scared him. But not in the way it would've in the past, not in the way he felt when all of those girls had begun hitting on him. It felt different. He felt like he'd.. screw up, in a way? He shouldn't feel this way. Or, at least, he.. never did so before.

But Miss Sonia.. That was real wasn't it?

Just then, Gundham's words rang out throughout his head.

The concept of Sonia.

Safety. Security. How he'd feel like.. something, If he courted her. Ruled beside her.

Did he ever see the real her? Or, rather, has he ever appreciated it? Using her, to boost his own ego and shaky self esteem. He suddenly felt like a dick. It was difficult to let go of a pillar of safety.. Sonia.

Maybe Gundham was onto something. Maybe Gundham did have good intentions. Was that why everyone else liked him so much? He was kind, truly, for the Overlord he proclaimed to be. Kazuichi envied that confidence. That security in who he was. Flawless, in his own eyes; Not in a way that was.. Cocky or arrogant.. Well, no, that's a lie, but nonetheless true to himself, and..

Thinking about another man in the shower wasn't weird, right?

Gently, Kazuichi allowed his eyes to flutter open. Down the drain, he could see faint pink streams. Fear built in his gut, and yet.. he didn't move. Didn't waste the energy he had left to panic. The mechanic's head cocked back, a soft sigh leaving his mouth whilst two slender and scarred fingers came up to caress and comb through his locks. It was as if it was.. subconscious, almost.
The events of the night were still fresh in his head. At some point, it felt as if he were trying to scrub it all away. The guilt. Who he once was.

"You're out of line.."
Kazuichi murmured, scolding himself aloud.. Even then, he couldn't help but feel cautious. Hesitant. What if all Gundham said was a lie? Something said to lower his guard? To attack him, the moment he stepped out of the shower.. Dying naked would surely be a way to go.

Souda let out a breath before turning the handle the opposite way, The stream of water coming to an abrupt pause. His fingers had begun to prune; The mechanic couldn't tell how much time had passed since he stepped foot in the tub. So, with slow and lazy movements, The ultimate would dry himself with a towel, rubbing the fabric profusely against his body, before slipping into his undergarments; And then, yet another tank top. Finally, he built up the courage to turn his head.

What the mirror displayed was.. unexpected.

He saw himself. Gradually, a thin finger came up to tangle within those damp, dark locks. Of course, his hair was longer than before; Given the lack of gel and products that he typically adorned, his hair sat flat against his temple; Unlike the way it had been in the past. Short and unkempt.

He looked like.. A new person. Someone he could grow accustomed to. Slowly, he stepped back, rising to his full height. For a moment, Kazuichi thought to remove those contacts, to get a real idea on who he could be.. But everything seemed, somewhat, too soon. One step at a time, he figured. After a moment, his eyes landed on the door he's spent an unspecified amount of time locked behind.

So, with a deep breath, Kazuichi gathered his worn clothing and used towel, placing a hand on the knob and twisting. The resounding click of the lock nearly echoed throughout the cottage, as well as the obnoxious creak of the doors hinges. Deliberately, he stepped out, Shoulders drawn up and tense.

Across from him, he could see Tanaka, head resting on his bandaged palm whilst another hand came down to fondle one of his hamsters' Soft, golden fur, a look of concentration was what Kazuichi could make out. That, and another difference. His scarf, his whole.. thing, was gone! Folded neatly and put to the side; That, and his jacket in which he typically adorned as well, and still, his hair freely crusading down the sides of his face.

It shouldn't have come as a surprise to Kazuichi, given how they were damp and dripping with rain water, but in a way, the breeder looked.. better? Upon the admission, Souda could feel the heat rapidly traveling up his cheeks, especially when the other had raised his head to meet his gaze.

The two remained frozen, staring at one another, anticipating, wondering, who would be the first to speak.

Kazuichi was the first to break eye contact.
He felt a sudden wave of.. he couldn't put a name to it. Perhaps he felt self-conscious, in a way. Embarrassed? He had no clue, all he knew was that when the other guy stared at him like that, he felt.. tingly. Even then, he shoved the items he was holding into a basket by his work table. He could see Tanaka in the corner of his eyes. The mechanic inhaled deeply, briefly meeting the others' gaze.

Kazuichi's lips parted to say something, but what broke the silence first was the nighttime announcement. Monokuma's squeaky and overwhelmingly grating voice was audible, faintly drowned out by the beating of rain against the windows. Kazuichi didn't know if that was a blessing or a curse. As soon as the bear's image faded from the monitor, Gundham took it upon himself to speak, his attention now fixed towards the window.

"This Tempest has not yet ended."
Kazuichi brought up a hand, rubbing at the back of his neck.

"I-.. Yeah."

..

"I.. I guess you can stay the night. Well- not that you had a choice in the first place."

Kazuichi attempted to sprinkle in a bit of humor, briefly forgetting that Gundham didn't do 'Humor'. Man, he'd much rather be stuck with Hiyoko’s annoying ass..  Growing tired of the constant periods of silence, The mechanic finally addressed the elephant in the room.

"Tanaka, Man, I'm.. I'm sorry about what happened. I know ya' don't care or anything' but it's not something you move past like that! Maybe I'm just being dramatic but.." He'd then trail off, at a loss for the right words.  A huff of dismissal emerged from the other.

"This distasteful scenario has placed a dire strain on each mortal on this island. Do you think i expected different from a human such as yourself? Nonetheless, the past remains in the past."
Gundham straightened his posture, crossing his arms over his chest. Finally, Kazuichi took his time to examine Tanaka's experience, his heart stuttering in his chest. The mechanic blinked once, twice. For some reason, His immediate reaction was to gawk at The breeder's biceps; His chest, Through his thin undershirt.

There was a mix of both attraction and intimidation.

Immediately, he directed his eyes back to the others.

"So.. we're cool? I mean, on this one thing. I'd still kick your ass."

Gundham only narrowed his eyes.
Kazuichi took that as a silent affirmation.. There was that awkward silence again. He needed to get moving. So, with antsy hands, The mechanic did what he was good at. Tinkering.
He skittered past the breeder, gathering his blue prints and half finished project, tossing them on the bed before himself. Souda wasted little time grabbing that wrench and getting to work, again, filling the air with the scent of oil. The TV droned on mindlessly behind him, filling that void.

Every now and then, Kazuichi's gaze landed on Tanaka. He's been in that same position for a bit now, arms crossed, head downcast. His hamsters were moving about now, all dry, soft and playful, toppling over one another. Gundham's gaze only seemed to harden, unexpectedly. You'd think it'd grow fonder, given the adorable sight.

So, with a heavy sigh, Kazuichi smeared oil across his cheek in an attempt to be rid of it. he'd dust himself, leisurely approaching Gundham. The air around them was unbearable.

"So.."
The mechanic drew out before plopping himself in a seat only a few inches from the other.

"What's got you in a sour mood, dude? Ya' look constipated."

Gundam would scoff, His head turning to the side.

"I am merely.. thinking."
— "Thinking!?"
Exclaimed the mechanic a bit too loud, his hands cupping his own cheeks in mock surprise. " No! I thought The Overlord, Supreme.. Whatever, didn't dwell on the past! Or, think for that matter.. Y'know, since he's so above us mortals.."

— "You mortals waste your efforts on trivial matters. I, Gundham Tanaka, direct my efforts on greatness!
— "So, what is this 'greatness'  you speak of?"

Asked Kazuichi, with the intent to mock the other. Instead, Gundham seemed to meet his eyes, a hint of amusement in his gaze.. Kazuichi felt as if he could get lost in those eyes, His.. He'd snap back to reality, watching as Gundham stood. He stepped toward the window with arms still crossed, peering out into the storm. Dramatic as always, thought Souda. So, with a meek roll of his own eyes, he got up and followed.

"I find myself.. Solicitous, in regards to the beasts I left behind shortly before arriving at Hope's Peak. They are within the grasp of the most prestigious caregivers, However.."
Kazuichi raised a brow.
"Those animals you were toyin' with? Please. Your whole thing is animals, right? m'Sure you picked the right people. You care too much about those things to make that mistake, your fleabags are fine." With that last statement, Kazuichi allowed his hand to rest upon the ultimate's shoulder.

"They're in good care.. Gundham."

The silence this time was.. different. Comfortable and welcome. In a way, needed. Finally, the breeder would turn his head, glaring at the other, first, his hand, and then his face. They were both red; Kazuichi realizing that he'd been holding Tanaka's shoulder for a while now, Gundham, realizing he's been allowing it. So, in quick succession, Kazuichi retracted his hand.

However, he didn't move immediately, eyeing the other. The breeder would clear his throat.

"Your new form is.. Bewitching."

The compliment had him taken aback. If he wasn't red before, He didn't know what shade he grew into. That, coupled with his earlier weird-ass, adorably dorky analogy that may or may not have been an admission of his feelings, nearly made Kazuichi lose his mind. Whether it be flirting or his typical ways of speaking, Souda didn't care anymore! He diverted his gaze for a moment, His words stuck in his throat. he had to get over himself!

So, with a sudden change in demeanor, The mechanic leaned closer, now in the breeders' personal space. As he spoke he masked his nerves with a confident facade;

"Really?" Hummed Kazuichi, knowing that it would somewhat startle the other. "..Y'Don't want a closer look?"

Tanaka's eyes would widen, instinctively putting distance between himself and Kazuichi, only for the other to bridge the gap. A soft thud arose as Gundham fell back onto Kazuichi's plush mattress, the springs straining beneath his weight.

"S- Souda! My barrier can only hold for so long! I advise you step away, lest you-"
"Barrier? What, next you're gonna tell me that you're poisonous? 'That I'd wither away and die if I touched you?"
At first, Kazuichi meant it as a joke.. That was until Gundham's hand came up, presumably to pull his scarf over the lower half of his face, Yet upon realizing he had abandoned it, He settled for planting his hand there instead.

"You're not serious!"
Kazuichi laughed. Instead of another swift and eager rebuttal, Gundham remained silent, unable to meet his eyes. Kazuichi couldn't help but snicker as he peeled the other's hand from his lips, and eventually, replacing them with his own.

It was sudden, and it was slow, yet the breeder didn't pull away. He stood frozen for a moment, both of them did, before Kazuichi's hand came up to grip Gundham's shoulders. To the mechanic's absolute surprise, Tanaka only seemed to press into the sensation, his hands coming up to cup Kazuichi's cheeks, a thumb unexpectedly brushing at the smudged bit of oil that remained.

The nerves Kazuichi had been feeling melted away almost immediately, his palms sliding down to rest upon Tanaka's pecs, squeezing gently before using that grip as leverage to lift himself away from the other.
"Ah.. T- Tanaka— Gundham.." Souda murmured,  a sheepish smile growing on his lips; "You.. You're really okay with this? Look, I know you and Miss Sonia have a.. Thing going on, But-"

"F- Fool! We.. we do not."
The other spat, still dazed from their sudden union. Kazuichi blinked.

"You- you don't?"
— "You delude yourself, Kazuichi! She is merely my dark companion, I.. I have no interest in.."

The breeder trailed off, watching as a toothy grin began to take place on the shorter male's face. He came up to kiss at the junction between Gundham's shoulder and neck, murmuring lowly, "You seem pretty eager, man. You were quick to deny that. Or, are you nervous?" He'd whisper, "You aren't nervous, are you.." deliberately, Kazuichi lowered his tone to a flirtatious tease, as if hiding their sin away from prying eyes and ears.

Briefly, Gundham opened his mouth to speak, only stopping when Kazuichi pushed both hands underneath his top, exploring his toned abdomen, The two hands could almost fit entirely around his thin waist. Kazuichi used that same spot to his advantage, guiding Tanaka on his back, his hands quick to slide up toward his chest. The breeder was quick to hoist himself up using his elbows, "Y- you are a nuisance."
Gundham grumbled, a harsh blush spreading across his cheeks. Kazuichi managed to straddle the other, both legs on either side of his pelvis.

He paused for a moment, a hand coming up to rub at the back of his neck.
"Do you have any experience with making out? Like— At all?"

Kazuichi himself had gotten into his fair share of 'Situations', girlfriends, if you could call them that; Though, none felt as right or comfortable as it did right now.. With Gundham, of all people. To nobody's surprise, Tanaka's face quickly grew bright pink as he looked off to the side, an attempt to avoid Kazuichi's knowing glare. A laugh emerged from the Mechanic, further embarrassing the other male.

"Totally wasn't expecting that, man-"
Before he could even finish his sarcastic yet humorous quip, the breeder's bandaged hand reached up, gripping Kazuichi's right shoulder and hauling him back down into yet another searing kiss. For a moment Souda jumped, however, he didn't mind it. No, not at all, actually. If anything his heart had begun running laps in his chest. He was right! Gundham was eager! Kazuichi could hardly contain himself- He couldn't wait to shove this in his face later..

Old habits do die hard.

After a moment, Kazuichi's tongue probed at Gundham's lips, in which the breeder allowed entry. His tongue slid into the other's mouth, mingling with his, the sensation warm and wet. Sloppy, too. Truth be told, Kazuichi was never the one to take the lead during intimate situations. Now, he just wanted to embarrass the other!

Kazuichi allowed his hands to roam, constantly running his fingertips over the others' abs, with the desire to memorize every dip and curve.. As opposed to his appearance, Gundham's skin was warm to the touch, albeit a bit jumpy.

Finally, the breeder's hand came up to grasp at Kazuichi's side, his fingers curling into the skin as if he never wanted to let go. What emerged from the union were gentle caresses, and a soft sigh from the mechanic, who had finally pulled back for air. The two men would inhale and exhale shallowly with quick succession, lips kiss swollen and coated with drool and spittle. For a moment, Gundham's eyes met Kazuichi's, Only to rapidly retract, attention diverted elsewhere. In response, the mechanic smiled, cocking his head.
"You alright, Creep?"
—"I- I see no universe where I, Gundham Tanaka, The Supreme Overlord Of Ice, Would not be.. 'alright', regarding mere mortal intervention-"
"Gundham," Kazuichi said, a bit firmer this time, and again he repeated himself, "Are you alright."

A quick beat of silence passed, Tanaka momentarily taken aback by his sudden change in attitude. After processing the shock, The breeder blinked, cleared his throat and glanced elsewhere.

"Y-Yes. I am optimal."
The toned down response brought a smile of relief to Kazuichi's face.

So, satisfied with the breeder's response, once more the mechanic would lean down, kissing at the junction of flesh between Gundham's shoulder and neck, that made Gundham tense up dramatically, gradually trailing down to his collar bone, And then, To his chest.

His lips would trail back upwards, Gundham's head instinctively cocking back as Kazuichi's tongue tainted the salted flesh before latching onto his throat cruelly, sharp and jagged teeth sinking into the skin.

A choked groan would escape Tanaka's mouth with every lick, every kiss or bite; Noises that he himself would have deemed unholy. For a moment it seemed as if he were to object, However his words came out butchered and tainted by the sound of his own dear melody. A hand slid from Souda's thin waist up to the back of his head, The breeder only pressing himself further into the sensation.

Each kiss seemed to linger as Kazuichi trailed downward, leaving a warm yet ticklish sensation to last seconds after every touch. A soft, shaky breath left Tanaka's mouth, a bandaged hand coming up to intertwine within the dark roots of the other's hair, his grip tightening ever so slightly, with every inch that Kazuichi descended.

Eventually, the mechanic had reached his stomach, lips soon hovering over the taller male's abdomen, just barely ghosting over the waistband of his pants. The tinkerer blinked once, his head slowly rising to meet Gundham's eyes.

The breeder, cheeks dusted red and eyes Focused yet glazed over with pleasure, his chest heaving with each labored breath, would stiffen, before ceasing the contact entirely. His hand would clench, pulling at Kazuichi's thick locks of hair, further entangling his fingers.

With a light snicker, Souda's hands came up to grasp at Gundham's narrow waist, receiving a muffled sound of surprise emitted from the other male.

Finally, Kazuichi's teeth sunk into the lower fabric, never looking away from Gundham's reddening face whilst he slowly began to tug downwards..

Abruptly, the hand sitting atop Kazuichi's hand moved with divine efficiency, forcing his hold on the fabric to cease. A sharp hiss of pain emerged from Souda, followed by a high whine.

"What the hell, Gundham!"
The tinkerer cried, tears pricking at the corner of his eyes stemming from the sheer force used on his scalp.

"If you wanted to try out some freaky shit, At least warn me before you-"
— "Cease your perverted ramblings, pest."
Gundham spoke with his typical boisterous voice, yet his vocals shook, it seemed. Whether it be from the chagrin situation, or his inexperience. As his hold came to an end, Kazuichi sat up, crawling off of the other whilst rubbing at his sore scalp. That's when Gundham felt it was appropriate to speak.

"I do not believe it is wise to engage in such scandalous activities whilst my harbingers are present."

Kazuichi blinked, his frown deepening with each passing word.
—"Your fuckin' hamsters! Just move them away if you're so scared of them snooping, the bathroom is open-"
"Bite your tongue! Only a fool does not know the risks that emerge when changing a beast's environment so suddenly!"

A long, drawn out groan left Kazuichi's mouth, somewhat annoyed by the predicament. Reluctantly he shot the rodents a stern glare, who seemed to be mocking him in their own little freakish way. Slowly, his eyes met Gundham's flushed, yet stoic expression.

"Have it your way," Kazuichi pouted. Again, the silence between them arose. And then, came of clarity of the situation, Kazuichi's cheeks gradually grew a flushed shade, his hand lowering from his head.
— "So..," Started the mechanic, "I take it I was your first kiss? M'sorry if I overdid it and stuff, I-!"
"Kazuichi Souda, Apologizing? Now, that is a sight I never thought I'd have the luxury of viewing!"

Souda's brows would furrow, his arms crossing over his chest; "Just take the apology, Jackass!"

A snicker emerged from the Dark Lord, however, It seemed forced and somewhat shaky, in a way.
"Th-Though, there is no need. Save me your pathetic ramblings. I..  I did not mind. In fact, that was.. satisfactory. For a mere mortal, that is."

Immediately a wide grin grew on Kazuichi's face. He was satisfied with the meek, albeit somewhat degrading response.
"What a softie!" The mechanic quipped, mockingly turning his head to the side and tapping at his reddening cheek.
"Can I get a' thank you?"

Before he could process anything more, two hands came up, lanky fingers cupping his jaw, pulling him closer and planting a quick, eager kiss on the area Kazuichi had been referring to. Souda blinked once, twice to regain his composure, feeling exposed and desperate as Gundham fixed his gaze.
The two stared at one another intently, and it felt as if the tables had turned drastically. Finally, The tinkerer spoke.

"Gundham, I'm.. I'm sorry. For everything, i uh.."
He felt awkward. Ashamed, almost, And yet he saw no hate or judgement within those mismatched eyes. Instead, he found what looked like home.

"Look, t-this is really complicated! Do I like you in that way? W-well I have to, right? I almost.. whatever! But a-am I really ready for that? For you? For romance at all? After Sonia- am I even ready to get over her? Am I over her? I just, I-"

—"You are asking me? Your choice is yours, I do not have a say in what you do."
"But.. Tanaka- I kissed you and- and.."

"So?"

Kazuichi suddenly felt like a dick. Gundham clearly had little experience with romance or intimacy; Hell, He gaslit himself and others into thinking that he were evil, that his body was poisonous just so others would stay away from him; He clearly had little grasp on social situations, let alone romantic ones, so to use him like that, to vent out his own feelings, Essentially watering him down to a mere test, without his knowledge, without dictating his own feelings..

"God, damn it.. That means I shouldn't have kissed you, without getting my shit together! I wasn't thinking!  Look, I liked Sonia for.. selfish reasons, I thought she could make me something I'm not, could give me worth."
Kazuichi's hands came up to grip at Gundham's hands, Prying them away from his cheeks sheepishly, all the while avoiding eye contact. As always, Gundham was warm. Warm to the touch, and lively.

"B- but I... I guess around you, I feel like I don't.. I don't have to pretend. Does that make sense? Look, I- I didn't grow up in a.. stable environment when it comes to affection. My dad, he.. Never really had a lover, After my mom.. I don't know how this all works."

For a moment, the breeder said nothing, his eyes wide for a moment before regaining his composure.

"It.. It seems you and I are not very different, Whelp. Perhaps we can.. Navigate this.. I- If you dare!"

A smile slowly formed on Kazuichi's lips. He couldn't help but wonder, how did he get so lucky? His mind felt at ease, around Gundham. It was like his prior worries and anxiety had completely vanished.

And just like that, as if caught in a whirlpool, he was drawn in. The distance between them had begun to close, Kazuichi shuffling closer ever so meagerly, with Gundham making no effort to pull away, and..

Before either of them knew it, The sound of thunder rippled throughout the cottage, nearly shaking its very foundation. The two jolted, and clumsily knocked their heads together, Now noticing that the cottage was completely shrouded in darkness, The TV, displaying mindless entertainment up until now Had darkened.

"Ah, great.."
Kazuichi commented, rubbing at his temple.
"It's a black-out! I guess I'll have to put my skills to use in the morning.."
—"Tch'. This poses no predicament for an Overlord. The Gods will truly know hell, as they have made the unwise decision to Place me where my power only grows!"

His eyes met Gundham's with a nervous grin. The other grunted. Now, with the only type of light illuminating the shelter emerging from the moonlight outside. In this dim yet feeble lighting, Gundham's prominent features were only brought to life, Gone with the artificial lighteners.  He couldn't help but marvel at his natural beauty.

He was nothing like Miss Sonia.

Maybe that's what he needed.

Before Tanaka could react, Kazuichi pounced, arms enveloping the dark lord and dragging him down alongside him, his back hitting the mattress with a dull thud, The springs momentarily fumbling beneath their combined weight.

A dull wheeze of breath left the thinner male as Kazuichi laid on top of him, his face tucked within the Breeder's shoulder
"I- insufferable, little-!"
He didn't get to finish.

"You're really fuckin' pretty man.. Can we just stay like this?"

His words caught the other off guard; His body, still-life as a hand came up to toy within those dark locks, twirling and occasionally pulling at the strands.

It took the flustered Gundham more than a moment to respond.

"V- Very well. If that is.. what you insist, Chameleon. However.. Do refrain from spouting such obscenities, Or that will be the last thing you'll ever chirp!"
Upon hearing the cheesy nickname, The mechanics free arm slid beneath Tanaka's back, And around, his arm now wrapped around his lower waist and allowing him to squeeze, Further pushing the boundaries of their proximity. It was as if Kazuichi wanted to fuse with the man, and become one being, one soul.

The welcomed silence stretched between them for a long while. Silent ruffling of the sheets. Raindrops feverishly pounding against the glass. The squeak and chime of the bickering Deva's.

Kazuichi's head would shift, further pressing into Gundham's top.

It was then the breeder could feel a wet warmth seeping into the fabric of his shirt, coating his skin with its shine. He could feel the other's shoulders shaking, Wracked with all kinds of feeble emotions. The silent snivels and whines. There was no doubt that Kazuichi was crying, his grip soon tightening around the other's waist.

Get over yourself, Gundham wanted to say. He wanted to reprimand him, to urge him to cease his dwelling, Insist that what's done is done, And Look forward. Souda was stuck in the past, Whilst Gundham himself had the mindset to keep moving, Leaving everything that has been or will ever be, behind. But Kazuichi's earlier remarks about the past stopped him.

Perhaps that was not what he needed. Sympathy is what Kazuichi must've sought. Relatability. Why else would he have gotten so vulnerable with Gundham, of all people?

Slowly, the breeder's hand rested upon the back of Kazuichi's shirt, His hand moving up and down in a soothing motion. He had no clue what he was doing, in all honesty. He stared up at the ceiling fan, no longer pumping the air as it once was.

Eventually, he could feel tears brimming his own eyes. The more he tried this 'Dwelling 'thing, He realized, there was lots to dwell on, wasn't there? Maybe it was the fact that he was brutally outcasted all his life. Maybe, it was that he's always been lonely. Or maybe it was because of the lack of real human connection, though he refused to give up who he was for the simple sake of 'conforming'.

He still didn't get it.

Why do humans insist on dwelling on the past when it hurts so much? When it made his heart rattle and ache in his chest. What benefit did they gain from this? Gundham did not like this feeling. Not at all.

What cut through his haze was the sound of Kazuichi's shaky voice;

"Gundham- you're-  Y- you're not planning to leave? Right? After everything?"

The guilt and regret from the night still weighed heavily on his shoulders.

In response, Gundham's grip tightened on the other. He didn't say a word, Yet his jaw ticked with the effort of clenching his teeth .

The rest of the night, Kazuichi spent sobbing and sighing into his 'lovers' arms.

The familiar warmth of sun against pale skin trudged The breeder awake, followed by a hiss of pain from across his position. The breeder blinked, Eyes narrowing as to accommodate the sudden shift in setting and temperature. Taking his time, Tanaka would force himself to sit up and bare witness to the scene in front of him.

Looming over his hamsters appeared to be a mildly irritated Kazuichi, The tip of his pointer dribbling dark ichor whilst he supported his hand. He shot a sharp glare at one of his Deva's.

Kazuichi appeared disheveled, strands of hair darted out every which way, His neon jumpsuit lazily trudged on around his waist, only pulled up at the sides. It was nowhere near close to covering his tank top, Only one arm slotted within the sleeves.

"Fool..," A sleepy Gundham bit out, "You should know it well; The Four Dark Deva's Of Destruction inhabit a severe distaste for mortals, such as yourself."

It was then his head snapped over, eyes meeting the breeders. The mechanic's pupils almost seemed to dilate; "Gundham!" Called kazuichi, marching over to the others.

"You sleep like a rock, man!"
The pest threw himself beside Gundham, springs groaning beneath their combined weight. Instinctively, the dark lord was swift to put distance between the two of them, But kazuichi only seemed to lean in.

"You just missed the morning announcement. Everyone should be gathering at the cafe, we'll be late if you don't move your ass!"
Compared to the night before, Kazuichi seemed to be in a much greater mood, His toothy smile nearly reaching his ears. As he spoke, he'd force his arms into the rest of his jump suit, fumbling off of the bed.

Gundham let out a small groan, pushing his hair away from his face.

Kazuichi snickered.

"You look terrible!"

In response, Tanaka would smile, his eyes glinting with his typical malicious intensity.
"What a compliment! My, Kazuichi, For someone as powerless as yourself to acknowledge my greatness.. It is only natural, I suppose?"

Typically, Souda would scowl.
Bark back, Roll his eyes.. But all he could do was stare at the other man with this look on his face, the wool completely pulled over his eyes. Internally, Kazuichi screamed at himself. How come this creep made him feel so.. So himself? So relieved? So worthy, despite his inflated sense of grandeur.

He would blink himself out of his trance as soon as he noticed the darkening marks crowding Gundham's neck, His collarbone, and assumingly, down lower as well.. Immediately, the tinkerer's cheeks flushed a dusty shade of pink. Gundham would kill him the second he noticed!

Kazuichi watched as Gundham maneuvered about the room, gathering his scarf first, and shrouding himself within the fabric, as always. Once finished the breeder held his hand out, Allowing all four of his Deva's to travel up that appendage and skitter beneath the folds and wraps of his scarf.

"Jeez, slowpoke! Lets go, lets go!"
As Souda finished zipping up his jump suit, he'd rush toward the door, hand making contact with the knob before..

"ah."
He murmured.

"My- my hat!"
The sudden exclamation drew in Gundham's attention, scanning the boy who had turned back to him with a pout.
"I can't go out there like this!" He'd close in their distance.

"And why is that?" The breeder cocked a brow, "You showed me."

"T-that's because you're..! You! Y’know. B-besides, It wasn't at will, Dick!"

...

"Gundham, surely you know this, you ain't that isolated! Some people are not as accepting as others and- and i.. I don't think I'm ready to explain myself, Or.. Handle the way they'll stare."

As the tinkerer went on, his tone would damper, each word shaking the foundation of confidence he so earnestly put up. Even so, he continued.

"I was planning to show my face at the diner, n’then book it to the 'market, back here, and then use the dye! 'Can't just stay here. Someone will come looking."

"Pathetic," Gundham grumbled, tossing his heavy jacket over Kazuichi's head.

"I shall venture alongside you to the market. Then, you will come back here after I inform the humans about the proof of your existence."

Souda scrambled to tear the fabric from his eyes, "Really!" He cried, genuine shock seeping through his words. And a bit of embarrassment, too. Being walked, like a dog, by this ass!

Gundham said nothing more, simply crossing his arms as Kazuichi lurched closer, his hands coming up to toy at the other's hair, pushing it away from his face.

Seeing that Gundham couldn't access his cottage, there was no way he'd have the equipment to fix his hair. Having Longer hair himself, Kazuichi knew well the difficulties to maintain it. To his surprise, Tanaka stood still, only staring down at the other. He spoke suddenly,

"So.. I can trust that I will not get to see this look for a while?"

"Yep."

The ultimate clicked his tongue once.

"What a shame. I quite enjoyed this iniquitous guise of yours, as it reflects my own vast Evil."

Kazuichi's head cocked to the side, his hand stilling in Gundham's hair as he stared at the other, Smugly.

"—So what I'm getting at is that you don't enjoy color in your life? Y'Like the raven heads?"
Souda reduced their distance, Lips practically hovering over his own.

"Your guess is adequate."
—"Shit.. Too bad for you then, right?"

And with that final, cocky quip, the distance between them vanished, the ultimate's now locked in a fiery embrace. Kazuichi's arms, carelessly thrown around the dark lord's shoulders, And Gundham's hands, cupping Kazuichi's thin waist, merely resting his hands on a comfortable spot, But unfortunately for himself, that only served to work the other up.

A muffled moan left the tinker's mouth, before leaning in to press their hips together, the mere action drawing out respective moans from the men. The friction was maddening!  It was then Souda pulled back, blinking out of his daze as a thin trail of saliva connected their lips.

"Woah, dude.. Feels like your goin' Commando down there!"

Gundham didn't smirk, smile, or even give a dramatic glare. Instead, His cheeks reddened as he released the other's hips, heading for the door.

Kazuichi inhaled sharply, Quick to grab the jacket and throw it over his head, following the man out of the cottage with a shout; "No fuckin' way! C'mon, I didn't say that you were small or anything!"

The blistering sun beat down on the two Ultimates; As it typically did. The large jacket hovering over Kazuichi's frame would shield him from the heat, for the most part. Both walked side by side silently; And in retrospect, It would be an unusual sight to the other islanders.

And it was.

As soon as 'civilization' was in view; He could see the others filing into the diner, some lingering behind and chatting outside. Suddenly, Kazuichi felt somewhat self conscious, creating distance between Gundham and himself. The breeder eyed the other, Yet he said nothing.

The two were somewhat quick to turn, headed to the market. Inside; The cool breeze of the air conditioner hit them, relieving the two of the compressive heat. At first, they believed the area to be clear of most life, that was until they heard chatter, and shuffling.

'Kazuichi? Gundham?'
A voice rang out, followed by the squeak of sneakers against newly waxed floors.

Slowly, the mechanic lifted his head, only to see three others; A strange mix, it was. Ibuki, Fuyuhiko, and lastly, Hajime.

"H-Hajime!"
Cried the ultimate, fumbling with the fabric in his hands, harshly pressing it against his temple.

"Aloooooha'!" Ibuki chimed, sticking her hand far up into the air and waving eagerly at the pair.

"The 'Fuck are you two dicks doing here?" Mocked Kuzuryu, A pout on his baby-like face.

"Together, at that." a voice laced with stoicism spoke, As Peko emerged from behind one of the isles, coddling planks and nails in her arms. Hajime stared back at the two, silently taking note of their appearances.

"G- Guys!" The mechanic stammered, his eyes searching the faces of those present. "What are- What're you doing here! You guys should be at the diner!"

—"We could be asking you the same thing," Hinata started, tilting his head curiously as he went on.. "But what are you doing with Gundham? A- and what are you doing with his jacket? And Gundham-"
- "Hey, hey!" The mechanic called, "We could be asking you four the same thing!"

Ibuki inhaled sharply, quick to hop and skip in front of Hajime; "Ohh- Oh! me! Ibuki will answer that!" The musician was quick to clear her throat, pressing the tips of her fingers on either side of her temple and closing her eyes in concentration.

"There was like- An insaaaneeee storm last night, right! So some of our cottages were damaged, So those of us who needed it went out to buy some thingies’ to repair the other thingy!"

Finally, her eyes snapped open as she pointed an accusatory finger at Gundham;

—"And you! A MaaaSsive palm tree fell right in front of your cottage- I could see it! How'd you escape! I knocked, but you didn't answer! I was suuuuuper worried- But then I was like- No way Gundham could croak! You're a dark lord, A-doy! Did you gnaw at your door like a beaver!"

The pressure suddenly placed onto the breeder barely shook him. Reluctantly, he tore his gaze, simply peering out of the windows.

"I was not inside of my cottage last night, before the storm."

"Really? Why?" Hajime probed.

"The dark queen and I were out before that wretched typhoon."

"So, then how'd you get in? You didn't sleep outside did you? You said you were out with Sonia during the storm, And you weren't in your cottage, So the tree must've fallen down earlier, Right? you couldn't have got in."

..There was no reply from the overlord. for a moment, he stared, Before breathing harshly, His arms crossed across his broad chest before lowering his gaze, Closing his eyes. Kazuichi's eyes would widen, his lips pressing into a thin line. He must've looked hella suspicious! Everyone's nerves were still on end from the trial, days before..

He wouldn’t endure the accusation to spare Kazuichi's ass the embarrassment, could he? It was then Fuyuhiko spoke up; "We're talkin' to you jackass!" The Yakuza spat, The air in the market growing increasingly stale.

".. I did not enter my cottage after it fell."

"Right. You aren't soaking wet, so you had to take refuge somewhere else, Maybe .. But the other facilities are blocked off at night. B- But you can't sleep anywhere else but a cottage during the night! It- it violates the rules!”

Again, Silence.

"Gundham?"
Hajime murmured, examining his appearance, More specifically, the dried blood stain on his shirt.
"...Gundham?" Hajime continued. He swallowed. "On second thought, has.. Has anyone seen Nagito today?"

It was valid to ask. Typically, he'd be up bright and early, a thorn in Hajime's side. After a beat of silence passed, Fuyuhiko stepped forth, jamming his finger into Gundham's chest,

"Hey! If we find out some fucker is dead, The first person we're lookin' at is your sorry-"

—"He spent the night in my cottage!"

Once the mechanic blurted out the sentiment, the room fell into tense silence as all eyes turned to him. He almost regretted it as soon as he left his mouth.

"I- I saw him. Outside, during the storm. I let him in, Alright! A- and as for Nagito, I.."
Kazuki chuckled nervously; "Have no idea where he is! Gundham and I just got into a scuffle; I beat his ass!"

"Ah.. Uhm! Hey, hey!"
The musician tweeted, pressing the tips of her fingers together.

"Not to be a buzzkill- Or to accuse anyPony of anyThing! But, ah.. doesn't that violate the night time rule, too?" She eyed the other shyly.

Kazuichi's eyes widened, his heart nearly dropping to his ass. He had completely forgotten! Swiftly, his head turned to face Tanaka, who had been staring directly at ibuki.

"It does."
—"Dumbass!" Fuyuhiko pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Now you're gonna die! Heh, Not that I care n'Shit. S'just a stupid fuckin' way to go-"

"And it so happens to be the only rule the false beast happens to be lenient with. That is a fact."

Hell, Leniency wasn't enough!  Kazuichi stared, dumbfounded. So Gundham knew? He knew that it violated the night time rule? And despite knowing the risk, he didn't leave Kazuichi's side that night.

As he said, it was unwise to leave him alone in such a mentally deteriorated state.

Is that why he said nothing when Kazuichi popped that vulnerable question? He couldn't promise anything; That he wouldn't be punished in the morning. He didn't want to make a promise he couldn't keep. Kazuichi wanted to beat the shit out of him! Slap him, or.. Kiss him! something!

"That is.. correct." Peko murmured.

"Well, you're right about that. Sorry, Gundham." Hajime rubbed at the back of his neck. "Everyone's kind of-"
Suddenly, Ibuki squeaked, as if she forgot something. She suddenly reached out, dragging Hajime toward the exit,

"Let’s go, Let’s go! All that salty sea air is gonna plague my cottage!"
She spoke quickly, and Hinata stumbled behind her. Fuyuhiko scoffed, following the two. Peko simply stared a look toward the two, smiled softly, bowed her head, and followed the Yakuza.

Once the four made it outside, Hajime hacked, rubbing at his neck. Her grip on his collar nearly choked him!
"Fuck was that about?" Fuyuhiko spoke abrasively.

"Nothing." She hummed, walking backwards. "I just believe them!"

"A- and how are you so sure?"
Hajime spoke after recovering from her tight grip, rubbing at his neck.

a soft blush coated her face out of embarrassment as she rubbed at the back of her head.

"haa.. When Gundham's lil' hamsters ruffled his scarf, I thought I saw a lovveeee biteeee!~"

Suddenly, Fuyuhiko stopped.
"Are you fuckin' serious!" He nearly barked out harsh laughter, Turning back around. Ibuki was not one to lie; "I've gotta-"

Suddenly, Pekoyama gripped his collar, continuing to walk. The Yakuza let out a growl of frustration.

"Gundham, You fucking idiot!" Kazuichi bit out, storming into the next aisle.
"Leniency isn't enough! You could've died, Y'know!"

"Tch. To think one could kill Gundham Tanaka himself is ridiculous!"

—"Oh quit it, Creep! You looked suspicious as hell!"
Kazuichi's eyes softened as he turned back around, a deep breath leaving his lips. "That was stupid, asshole.." Gradually, he stepped closer, the jacket now hanging loosely at his side.

"Relying off hopes and dreams is Nagito's thing. Just.. Don't do that again! Go to the diner, or  move the fuckin' palm tree."

Gundham let out a noise akin to reluctance. "Fine. I myself, am eager to get away from you mortals and your.. feelings."

His head turned slightly, only for Kazuichi's hand to guide his gaze back, and before he had time to react; Pressed their lips together. Gundham didn't pull back, or move for that matter, His hands hovering in mid air, before the mechanic pushed him back by the chest.

"Now, leave you jerk!"

Gundham, his cheeks dusted red, would huff, brows furrowing. He'd pinch at his scarf, pulling it over his lips and nose, before turning dramatically.

Kazuichi stood in the middle of the market, alone. Somewhat puzzled.

He hated Gundham with every fiber of his body, moreso, how he made him feel. But love and hate was divided by a very, very thin line.
