Midoriya sighs, looking at the mess that he had just pulled out of his oven.
“Oh no! There is no way I can serve this to mom for her birthday. I need to go get something from the store. Oh wait, mom said there was a new bakery in town that she was interested in. Now if only I could remember the name. I think it was nearby, let me see if I can go find it.”
Grabbing his wallet, he runs out the door, leaving the remains of what may have been a cake on his stove.
“Okay, let’s see. Bakery…bakery…where could that bakery be. Oh wait, is this it?”
Midoriya looks up at the sign proudly reading “Pain in the Bundt” with an explosion that looks like a cupcake behind it.
“I guess that does sound like a bakery name, if a bit nontraditional.”
He pushes the door open and walks in to possibly the best smelling bakery he had ever been in. Midoriya starts to look around, noticing that they seemed to be out of quite a few items.
“Bonjour!” A smiling blond boy walks out of the back, “Welcome to Pain in the Bundt.” He seems to get quieter and a little more displeased as he gets near the end of the name but quickly snaps back. “My name is Aoyama, what can I do for you?”
“Hi there, I was hoping to inquire about getting a cake for my mom’s birthday? Mine didn’t turn out well.”
“Of course. When were you hoping to get it?”
“Well, I was wondering if you had any premade since I need it today.”
Aoyama face drops a bit again as he glances towards the back and then leans in.
“I'm afraid we only take custom cake orders two weeks in advance, and we don't pre make any. But if you go down the street-“
Before he can get any further, the kitchen door swings open another blonde man comes out. This one however does not seem pleased to see a customer in the store.
“Oi Glitter Force, what are you telling this loser about another bakery for?”
Aoyama sighs, “Bakugou, I was telling the customer that we don’t have any cakes available since you won’t pre make them, but that he’s here too last minute to get one ordered since he wants it today.”
Bakugou glances at Midoriya.
“Why the fuck are you buying a cake last minute anyways? Don’t you know how to plan ahead properly?”
“Wha? Well, I was trying to bake one so it would be homemade but then-”
“Then you screwed it up because you can’t bake. I know the type.” He groans and turns to Aoyama, “Alright fine, sell him a half-dozen cupcakes and throw in an extra cause I feel bad that he’s so incompetent.” Bakugou turns back to Midoriya, “And come in earlier next time. Clearly you can’t bake for shit, so I’ll only make you order one week in advance since that’s embarrassing.”
Having declared that, Bakugou heads back into the kitchen behind him. Midoriya turns to Aoyama in disbelief, who has already started packing up the cupcakes.
“Do you really let him talk to customers like that?”
“Well, he's the boss so there's not much I can do about it. Here you go, that will be twenty dollars.”
“Um, I don't really need a half-dozen cupcakes. It's only me and my mom.”
“Oh, trust me, you’ll eat them all. If you don’t, we’ll give you your money back for any you don’t eat.”
“Alright, fine.”
Midoryia walks out of the bakery in a bit of a daze.
“Well, I guess I don't have to worry about dessert for the next few nights. Maybe I’ll eat my extra one while I walk.”
