"It's over. Why can't you understand it A?" He smiled, looking at his eyes.
"It's over. But we're not. Don't make me leave you again Dante, please..." He cried out, dropping to his knees right next to him and rubbing his face with his hands.
He took A's hands from his face, "Stop rubbing your face." He said gently, takings A's hands and taking them to his face, planting kisses on both of them.
A's eyes filled with tears locked into his eyes. A saw the world. He saw the beauty of the universe. He saw stars.
Dante looked into his eyes and saw nothing. He saw a void. He saw the emptiness of the universe.
He saw blankness.
A rushed forward and hugged him, "Just stay with me! I-I promise I'll take care of the Demon's bothering you! I-I'll tel IT—"
Dante cut his words off with a kiss.
His lips pressed into A's.
And all A could taste was salt and blood.
"You don't need IT's help. I don't need your help. I don't think I could have your help. I don't think I can love you."
A kissed him. He pressed his lips harder into his, trying to shut him up.
Trying to escape the cruel truth.
"—It's hopeless A. I'm gone. This is my third time calling IT's name aloud. IT will come for me soon. But... thank you."
His hands found A's face, caressing his cheeks and wiping his tears away.
More blood dripped from his nose. But he didn't care.
"I loved you A. You have what it takes to be a human. To espace from this cruel... place. You have to be on Earth. Not here. You were supposed to be born there. Supposed to love someone that's Human. Not a Demon like me."
A shaked his head, crying even more harder, "Don't say things like that! I don't care if I'm a Human or an Angel! I choose to love You! Not an Angel, not a Human, not a Devil! I choose to love a Demon. And that Demon was you!"
He hugged Dante, even if Dante froze and didn't hug him back, he didn't care.
"I choose you because I love you Dante, not because I was ordered to kill you!" Dante hugged him tightly, almost as if he was crushing A's bones.
"But you shouldn't have A. I am a sinner. You are a saint. Did you really think we could work out? It's over A. We're over."
He pushed A off, closed his eyes and leaned in for a final kiss.
He kissed him so gently that A didn't even feel his lips on his own.
Then he got up, leaving A on the ground.
"If you ever think of not eating me and letting IT kill you, just know that I would hate you if you did that."
A froze. 'What? Dante would never hate me... right?'
A got up, "I- How do you think this would affect me?! I have to eat my lover, Dante! My lover!-"
Dante turned his back on him. "Shut UP, A! We weren't lovers! You were assigned to kill me and what?— You fell in love with me?! How am I supposed to truly believe that?! I'm a Demon!"
A ran in front of Dante, facing him. "You know nothing about my feelings! I loved you Dante! I still do..! No matter what kind of form you could take, I would still love you! I don't care!"
"But I don't A!"
A froze, his hands dropping to his side limply.
"In fact, I would choose to hate you in every universe! I would never be with you again! This, this was a mistake, A. Don't you know what kind of world we live in?! We're trapped A! I am a Demon and you are an Angel!"
"We can't be together! You have to be a human, you have to escape this mess. You have to find someone who would truly love you and choose you in every universe!"
Dante looked at A in the eyes.
"I wouldn't A. I wouldn't."
And then, Dante exploded.
He

to

ground.
"Dante..?"
"NOW, EAT IT MY CHILD."
