    “Tsukasa-kun…?” Rui tries again. “The…the costume, it’s good. I can handle it from here...”

    Tsukasa’s fingers remain motionless. Rui feels a slight quiver at the tip of the zipper.

    An awkward silence ensues. Well, awkward for Rui, at least. He doesn’t know what Tsukasa’s feeling right now. Two laser beams burn into his back where Tsukasa’s eyes seem to be glued. He can hear Tsukasa’s breathing, but he’s not sure if it’s just because the room is quiet. The tension is palpable, a string being tugged from both sides until its threads start to fray.

    He clears his throat weakly.

    “Tsukasa-ku—”

    Warm lips press against the nape of his neck, and Rui’s heart genuinely stops.
