   Summary

   Alternative timeline where Hans never confessed at Suchdol and went on to marry Jitka while Henry drifted away. But then, almost two years into his marriage, Jitka dies in childbirth, leaving Hans with his newborn son. He’s completely at a loss, scared and overwhelmed, and grieving Jitka, because even though he never loved her the way she deserved, she did share his life, if only for a little while. When Henry shows back up, having received Hans's letter about Jitka's death, he slots into Hans's life perfectly, and has a talent for taking care of Hynce. Naturally, Hans's feelings return, but is he brave enough to tell Henry this time?
