Chapter Text
POV Y/N
You had a lot to do today but you just happened to wake up at 4 in the damn morning thinking you could feel someone's eyes on you but no one was around. You had to visit your father for an important lunch to celebrate a milestone for him at 11:30. You had to finish your housework from yesterday and -in a slight mercy- the boys from the circus wanted to visit so you'd probably have a chance to recharge after that, maybe take a nap.
You wander around your apartment for the next 3 hours, unable to fall back asleep and feeling eyes on you for some reason. Not malicious, just there, guarding perhaps. At 7, you sigh and put on some music to do the dishes to and that makes you tired but you decide to do other stuff around the apartment too which takes you all the way to 10:30. You go lay down and listen to some rain sounds to maybe get a nap in before you have to go to that lunch.
About a minute into trying to sleep, you hear whispering or distant talking but you can't quite make out what exactly the voices are saying. You open your eyes and look around before laying down once again. You sigh, figuring that the neighbors are being particularly loud again, and close your eyes once more. A few minutes go by and just as you think your about to fall asleep a voice says something you can't hear and you feel someone pat your arm firmly, as if trying to wake you up. You jolt awake at the suddenly contact, since you had asked the boys to not touch you if they come over and you turn out to be aslep since you're a little bit of a light sleeper. Upon looking around, no jingling, no laughing, no pencil noises, no disturbed carpet, as if no one was even there in the first place even though someone very obviously touched you and roughly.
You lay back down and it takes you a few minutes to calm down. Just as you're about to fall asleep again, You get a text from someone and flinch from the vibration of your phone. You lift your head and grab your phone to check the time and the text. It was your father telling you you only had 30 minutes to get to the restaurant and looking at your phone, you actually have about 45-50 minutes to get dressed and get there. You only really need to put on a different shirt and then drive there, which is only going to take maybe 15 minutes if you're not in a rush so you check the time once more to remember how much time you have left to sleep and close your eyes again. Idle thoughts pass your mind: The ghost you had found that lives in your apartment and has since you moved here a while ago. You'd made friends with it and sometimes you can feel it trying to lull you to sleep, stroking your hair and the like, what shirt you're going to wear to the restaurant since this is kinda important, the ocean, rain -mostly because of the rain sounds you just remembered were playing through your earphones.
You manage sleep and you feel the apartment ghost gently stroking your shoulder for a moment before they seem to move away to do something else. You suddenly see your room as if you opened your eyes again but you can tell that this is a dream. you can only see what you were seeing while you were laying down and for some reason you can't move any other part of your body but it doesn't feel like sleep paralysis. A figure closely resembling your grandfather on your mother's side leans over you and you can feel the weight of his hand pulling the blankets to where his hand is, as if he's a physical person and not a spirit. He's translucent so you're pretty sure he's not a physical person.
This is making you panic, he died of lung cancer when you were only 6 but here he is in front of you right now. His face is blurry as he leans close your face and you start trying to move but you still can't. He kisses you on the forehead, a show of parental affection that you are unfamiliar with. Your first conscious memory, even, is of him stepping on your face with a work boot on. This man only seemed to appear near you when someone was fighting and he would just linger. No comfort, no words, just staring at the situation and you. He leans away and as if his spirit was holding you asleep, the moment you can't see him anymore, you're able to wake up from this and you sit up.
POV Ticket Taker
He had noticed you and Pierrot that day, having grown curious about your motivation for helping Pierrot with the unruly human he came across. He had been the first to trust you beyond Pierrot, though he knew you were hiding things, he could always tell the things you were hiding had nothing to do with Pierrot. The mirror in your room, being able to see the whole room except for the bed, had shown him that you had no intention of plotting anything. That and you talk to yourself out loud quite a bit. He'd seen you getting ready for something today, something you felt the need to dress a bit nicer for than everything else.
He watches you take a nap, or try to, and notices a small orb hovering around you. Your blankets move and you flinch from the orb and it disappears from view as you sit up and look around for whatever seemed to touch you. He's curious so he stays and sees you have the nightmare, sees you panicking but unable to wake for some reason. He sticks his head through and your heart is racing fast enough that you should've long woken up by now. He decides to get Pierrot to pay a visit to your house after you wake up and the orb disappears for the final time.
