He closed his eyes and let out a long breath, shoulders tense. Soul #8000. That was supposed to be the one to mark the start of a thousand new, plentiful reapings. It would kickstart the milestone with a success. He opened his eyes to look at the name of the lucky human.
Sol Leclair.
He carefully circled the name. From what little he knew, the name floated from list to list, with each reaper failing to take this soul's life. His senior had briefly mentioned twelve years of failed attempts, but Casper wasn’t worried. He did not fail—let alone give up. This soul was bound to be his.

"Well, unless you can come and give me new legs, it's kinda a feature." You shrug with a gentle smile, not wanting to worsen Casper's anxiety. The signature look of an idea entering his head gleams in his eyes: "Wait, no, you can't actually give me new legs-"
"I know that. I'm not stupid, unlike you." He winks at you playfully before gaining back his serious expression, "I will be right there. Don't move."
Before you can protest, the call drops.
You suffer with chronic leg pain. Casper finds out, and he simply will not stand for it.
