Chapter Text
The day started off as normal. I went to a normal school which is actually quite abnormal, PK Academy. I sat down at my seat, hoping to avoid those nuisances today.
But sadly, that’s not what happened.
“Hey Saikiiii!” I heard a voice call out that sounded like it belonged to a stupid person, because it did. Nendo Riki, the guy who thinks I’m his best friend and the dumbest guy at school. He has a butt-chin and the world’s worst haircut.
He’s also the only one my powers don’t wor k on. You probably know this, but in case you are one of the author’s friends who is reading this not knowing who I am, I have had psychic powers since birth.
I can know what others are thinking and move things with my mind, and a bunch of other stuff that we’d be here for an hour if I explained it all.
Well, I may be the world’s most abnormal person, but I want to live a relatively normal life. It’s a little bit hard because I’m the main character, though.
I tried to ignore Nendo and explain my life to you, but it didn’t work.
“Hey Saiki, buddy! What are you doing??”
I didn’t say a single thing, hoping he would go away.
“Hey, did you hear that weird purple-haired guy with a headband got in a fight with Takahashi?? You wanna go watch??”
Hes talking about Toritsuka. That idiot!!!
Toritsuka is another guy with powers. He can see spirits, one of the few things I can’t, and he’s one of the people that know I’m a psychic. But he’s not exactly a respectful person… especially to women…
I crossed my eyes to try and use clairvoyance. But Nendo was being too distracting.
“Saiki, pal, why are you weirdly crossing your eyes like that?? Anyways, y’wanna go watch the fight?”
Yare yare, I’ve really got myself a problem I can’t get out of here.
“Alright, let’s go watch the fight.”
Along the way, of course, I ran into two of my other (friends) annoyances. Teruhashi, the prettiest girl in all of PK Academy (I don’t agree with that, really), and Yumehara, a pretty normal girl.
“Hi Saiki!” Teruhashi exclaimed while tucking her hair behind her ear. Meanwhile, her mind shouted, please let Saiki say ‘Oh wow!’ I really want him to say oh wow!!!
She has a minor ‘crush’ on me.
I walked right past her but she and yumehara followed me the entire way. I could hear some people thinking, ‘I can’t believe someone won’t say oh wow to Teruhashi!’ Which is true, I won’t.
We got to the site of the fight. Toritsuka looked at me and his eyes practically watered.
Saiki!! You’ve come to save me!!
Please don’t tell me you tried to summon the spirit of a fighter to help you…
Of course I didn’t…! (Yes, and it didn’t work!!!)… you heard that, didn’t you? Just, HELP ME SAIKI!!!
Yare yare… Why do I still go to this school?
I tried to think of a plan where I can be the least noticed while still saving Toritsuka. I couldn’t teleport him away, there was too much crowd. Using telepathy has the same problem…
Saiki?? Hurry up!!
I don’t want to do this, but the only acceptable option… is to…
I became invisible away from everyone else and snuck into the fight. I pushed toritsuka away. This was a dangerous move. you see, I can become invisible, but if someone touches me, I’ll be visible again. But for now, toritsuka was the only one who could see me (he can always see me when I’m invisible since he can see spirits).
However, as soon as I did that, Takahashi punched me. I wasn’t hurt at all, but my power limiter on my head fell off. This was really bad. As people around us wondered where I came from, I started to panic.
I telepathically told Toritsuka, you will never be able to pay me back for this.
I picked it up off the ground and was about the insert it in, but then Takahashi punched me again.
Defeated by the broccoli-haired man? Now I’ve really screwed up…
When we woke up (yes, we), I immediately know my power had screwed up and we were in a different school, no, a different world.
… Yare yare.
