Summary
In his dark, cramped little box, Xie Lian’s face grew inexplicably hot. He couldn’t see Father Hua, nor could Father Hua see him, yet it felt as though hundreds of eyes were suddenly on him, eager to hear the details of his most atrocious misdeeds. His stomach churned as he quietly confessed, “I’ve been having certain… thoughts.”
Father Hua waited for a moment before he spoke with a breathy, curious lilt. “Oh? What kind of thoughts?”
Picking at a loose thread, Xie Lian answered as softly as he could. “Um… n-naughty ones.”
His ears pricked again at the sound of rustling, Father Hua’s gown evidently a nuisance for him tonight.
“Tell me more.”
Plagued nightly by sordid thoughts and dreams, Xie Lian seeks out his beloved priest for some much-needed time in the confessional.
