The ocean waves calmly rise up on the beach and retreat just as quickly. It is a clear day, the sun shines upon the beach where three travellers are currently resting.
The one with blonde hair is currently telling her companions—a small floating child and another child—her backstory.
It was simple… But also heartbreaking.
The blonde girl and her brother were on their way to another world, however, they were stopped by someone known as the ‘Sustainer of the Heavenly Principles’.
They fought with all they had—yet their powers could not match the Sustainer. They lost… Horribly.
The Sustainer took their brother away while trapping her in this world. Not to mention her powers were sealed away and she was left with nothing.
After recounting her story, she turned over to the children.
“How many years ago was it? I don't know…”
She shook her head, disappointment in her voice before balling her hands into a fist, her voice sounding more firm.
“But I intend to find out.”
Afterward, she shows them a small smile—one of relief and happiness.
“After I awoke, I was all alone—Until I met you two.”
“Yeah, Paimon really owes you for that. Otherwise Paimon likely would have drowned…”
A short flashback of Paimon getting fished out by Lumine played.
The floating child let out a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of her head while the child wearing a striped shirt sitting next to her gave a simple thumbs up.
Paimon assumed a more confident look, bringing a fist to her chest while smiling.
“So, Paimon will do her best to be a great guide!”
The other child stood up and copied her pose, making Paimon flustered because the child was imitating her.
“F-Frisk! Stop that!”
Frisk shook their head and continued to act like Paimon. After her embarrassment hit a critical point, she chased the child around the beach.
Lumine, who had been travelling alone for a long time, couldn't help but wonder where she would be if she hadn't met them two months ago.
“Let Paimon go Frisk! Lumine! Help me please!”
She was snapped out of her thoughts and turned over to see Frisk pulling Paimon away to the other side of the beach.
The kid’s strength was honestly surprising…
Still, Lumine couldn't help but find Frisk’s enthusiasm adorable. She stood up and slowly made her way over to them, appreciating the ocean’s beautiful scenery one last time.
The waves calmly rose to her shoes, the wind blew her hair as they danced along with the breeze.
It felt oddly peaceful…
“Frisk! Be careful!”
However, the panic cry of Paimon completely grabbed her attention. Her head quickly snapped towards them and she finally took notice of the Hydro Slime that was in front of them.
Her eyes widened and she quickly summoned her sword, ready to fight them off—however, the next few sequences would confuse her a lot…
Because it would break the laws of Teyvat entirely.
*The area around you turns black. A familiar box and buttons appear.
*A Hydro Slime blocks your path.
*You ignore Paimon’s scolding.
*ACT → CHECK
*Hydro Slime
*ATK - 3, Def - 2
*It has lived on this beach for a long time…
*It prepares for an attack. It shoots itself towards you. You hear Paimon and Lumine panic.
*You flawlessly dodged the attack.
*ACT → Wave
*You gave it a friendly wave.
*The Hydro Slime seems confused by your intentions.
*It jumps in the air, so you take a nice neat step to the left and avoid the attack. It stops for a moment.
*ACT → Splash
*You splash water on the slime, it is baffled by your friendly activity.
*It has stopped attacking for a while.
*ACT → Compliment.
*You compliment how hydrated it was.
“Frisk, what are you talking about?”
*Paimon has a deadpanned expression. You waved it off and turned your attention back to the slime.
*It does not attack. It silently hopped over to you.
*ACT → Poke
*You gave it a poke. The slime wobbled slightly. You gave it another poke. The wobbling reminds you of a dance.
*ACT → Wobble
*You attempt to wobble…
*It wobbles back.
*You two are currently in a wobble contest.
“Paimon… What are they doing?”
“Paimon doesn't know… And Paimon is afraid to ask.”
*The Hydro Slime cheerfully wobbles after playing with you.
*MERCY → SPARE
*You WON!
*You earned 0 EXP and 30 Mora.
*The Hydro Slime gives you a little nudge. It is wet, but it feels comfortable. It acts like a puppy.
*You happily reached out and gave it a comforting pat on the head.
*It reacts joyfully and then it hops away into the sea, disappearing from your view.
*You turn towards your friends. Paimon gives you a worried hug and checks you for injuries. Lumine makes her sword disappear before coming to check up on you.
*Both are equally baffled.
“Frisk, what did you just do?”
*Lumine curiously asked.
*You gave her your answer.
“You… Became its friend?”
“How is that even possible?! Paimon hasn’t seen anything like that in all her life!”
*You shrug, you have no answer left to give. Lumine sighs and gives you a gentle pat on the head. Paimon tries to get you to talk but you don't answer…
*She's irritated.
“Seriously, ever since I met you, I just can't seem to understand you…”
*Even if she says that, she shows you a smile. Lumine holds your hand and walks you over to the path ahead.
“Frisk, if you encounter another monster… Please wait for me next time alright? I don't want you getting hurt.”
*Lumine voices her concern. You pause and give a nod. She lets out a breath of relief, happy that you agreed.
“Don't worry Lumine! Paimon will protect them while you fight!”
*You give Paimon a look of doubt, she seems livid.
“Hey! Paimon can help too, you know?! Paimon cannot help in a fight but Paimon can definitely carry someone like you!”
*You gave Paimon a deep now, thanking her for her service… She got more flustered.
“A-anyways! We should seriously move now! We can't stay here for too long!”
*Paimon hurriedly said to hide her embarrassment. You give a silent nod and skip while holding Lumine’s hand.
*Lumine chuckles at your interaction with Paimon.
*Lumine suddenly stops and sees a weird object between two bushes. It looks like a giant trophy with a red crystal.
*You notice a glowing yellow star next to it.
*You wonder if anyone else is able to see it… Doesn't seem like they do.
*You follow Lumine to the strange contraption and tapped the star while she isn't looking.
*You think about the Hydro Slime living its best peaceful life…
*It fills you with DETERMINATION.
*Progress saved.
*You turn to Lumine and see that she has already activated the strange trophy. The crystal turned blue and it is floating.
*Paimon looks even more baffled.
“How did you do that?!”
“Hm? What do you mean Paimon?”
“All Paimon knows is that these Waypoints are scattered around Teyvat! No one has ever done something like this!”
“Huh… Guess it's a first for everyone.”
*Lumine giggles, Paimon looked like a child unable to solve a hard equation. She gave up before she got to the solution it seems…
“Well, it’s still not as weird as Frisk becoming friends with a slime… Which Paimon didn’t even know was possible!
*She points a finger at you. You point back.
“Don't imitate Paimon now!”
*She somehow stomps her feet in the air. You decided that angering her would be a problem for your journey.
“There there Paimon.”
*Lumine giggles while patting Paimon on the head. Paimon calms down a little. Lumine turns to you and whispers.
“Frisk, I think it's high time we pull that out…”
*You nodded and reached into your inventory. You pulled out a [Cinnamon Bunny] and gave it to Paimon.
*Her anger is replaced by happiness.
“Thanks Frisk! You are the best!”
*You gave her a nod and watched her gobble the food in seconds.
“Ah~ Paimon feels so much better.”
“Well, there goes one more of our medical food.”
*Lumine jokes, Paimon hovers cheerfully around Lumine—leaving trails of constellation dust.
*You gave a neat thumbs up.
*Now, you are all ready to go on a new adventure.
