    Hell hath no fury like a dragon queen whose hoard is threatened.

    In the smoldering aftermath of Mission City, Smaug thought the war was over. She was wrong. Megatron rises from the dead with an obsession reforged in the abyss, and this time his "darling" won't slip from his claws so easily. An ancient evil—the Fallen, a Prime who turned his back on creation—stirs beneath the sands of Egypt, and the fire in Smaug's chest responds to his call like a tuning fork against a dying star. He wants her flame to ignite a machine that will devour the sun.

    But the Decepticons aren't the only danger circling her hoard. Optimus Prime's restraint is fracturing under a devotion he can no longer disguise as duty. Bumblebee's adoration is deepening into something fierce and territorial.
