Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

More corpses produced in those 88 days than ever before in the history of Yokohama’s underground.

Numerous organizations were involved in the whirlwind of bloodshed.

The Dragon’s Head Conflict.

Tracing back, to one year earlier.

The airplane is high in the air, but the passengers calm and collected and the pilot swiftly taking so people to a certain destination that.

Inside the so called airplane a mafioso wearing all black holds a gun tightly shaking, pointing at no one in particular.

The airplane did not have that many people so he was deserted sitting in 13B.

Turbulence occurs and the mafioso starts to get worried a bit of sweat lingering on his forehead.

This job is very important for the said mafioso as he’s doing negotiations with a government official.

The black clothed man suddenly gets up holding his gun.

Bad move.

He looks through the window and in shock he sees a boy.. or girl? that’s wearing such unfashionable clothes covered in bandages and a red aura surrounding the kid sitting on the airplane wing.

The child seems to be humming to themself before they see someone staring so they get up with a jolly smile that the mafioso is sure would not be appreciated if he was a member of the mafia.

Child seems in no rush actively enjoying the mafioso’s worry.

Weird. That kid looks recognizable from where though? The mafioso ponders.

The red aura.

The airplane and calmness.

The delinquent look.

Thoughts start flowing through the mafioso’s mind about a certain organization full of kids and one very ferocious leader.

“THE KING OF THE SHEEP.” He yells everything dawning on him.

The king of the sheep grins his hoodie moving around with the wind.

The mafioso whose name is simply Niwo.

Niwo moves from 13B to 14A thinking that moving will be of any use.

Randomly, well I wouldn’t say randomly it was quite obvious.

An explosion happens knocking the grunt close to seat 16D, which is a safe place.

Or so he thinks.

“Hide wherever you like but there’s no escaping gravity,” the young boy says.

“You monster!”

The grunt tired of this teenager’s behavior he shoots toward the boy.

Dazai, the king of the sheep uses his gravity powers by putting all the force into his leg and straight up doing an axe kick to hit the bullet and shoot it back toward to the grunt.

Niwo swings his head backwards as a poor attempt to miss the bullet but Dazai is well prepared and the bullet goes downwards.

Unfortunately, our first introduced character dies before we hit the 1000 word count.

“How unfortunate, he died so quickly, I was hoping to play with him for a bit. I’m gonna kill everyone in the port mafia.”

Dazai says with unwavering certainty.

“This is hopeless!” A middle aged man whines which is unusual. “Our weapons smugglers are two weeks behind schedule. If this keeps up, our men are going to be fighting with kitchen knives at this rate, and that’s not even all. With the escalating violence, we’re losing contacts for our protection business. What do you think Yuan, are we not cut out for this work?”

Yuan is still facing down at this bottle of who knows what, not giving any attention to Mori, the new port mafia boss. Her pink hair slightly waving because of the window open. “Really now, Mori, not having money, not having intel, not having the trust of your subordinates. You knew it would be like this from the beginning, didn’t you?”

15 year old Yuan gestures with the one free hand she has rudely.

One would think the port mafia boss would throw her in the chambers for disrespecting the boss like that.

Instead, the raven haired man turns around and in the most childish tone. He says, “Your so mean to me Yuan-Chan!”

A beat passes and Yuan still hasn’t showed any signs of caring so he decides to switch the subject. “By the way, is there a reason why you’re mixing hypertension medication with hypotension medication?”

The pink haired girl shines with delight as she explains, “I thought taking them together might be a comfortable way to die.”

Quite a contrast to the way she was just ignoring the boss right?

The 45-year-old man sighs turning to face his desk full of paperwork, “Listen Yuan, you were there when I inherited the boss’s seat, your a witness to his will, I can’t have you dying so frivolously.”

The girl seeming tired of this talk sighs a memory happening.

A few months ago.

“How do you feel, boss?” A tired Mori asks.

“Doctor.. tell the executives to murder them all. The opposing organizations, the military police. Everyone who opposes the Port Mafia, kill them all.” The old port mafia boss says lying down as if he’s lifelessly.

As Yuan would say, he’s passed his expiration date.

The younger one presses his thin lips together and says carefully, “That’s not a rational course of action.”

The port mafia boss mumbles on, “I don’t care how many men we lose. Kill them. Just kill them. Kill them all! Kill them..

Swiftly, the raven haired man pulls out a scalpel slitting the man’s throats. “Understood boss, when you say kill them you clearly meant yourself.”

14 year old Yuan grimaces, blood getting all over the older boy’s face. How could he not feel disgusted? And what’s the point with talking with a corpse.

She’s got so many questions and feels like none of them will get answered.

Yuan takes a good look around her surroundings noticing the blood splattered on the walls and she winces feeling bad for the clean up crew. knowing those stains will be very hard to removed.

Calmly as if he never killed anybody, Mori says, “The boss has passed away from his illness. His last order was that I am to inherit his position as the boss. You’re the witness to that fact. Understood?”

14 year old Yuan looks pitiful, she has a bandage covering her left eye, a bandage on her right cheek, and bandages up to her neck, and a deep red look in her eyes full of despair. “Yes.” she says simply knowing anything else she’ll say might affect the new bosses mood.

Back to the present.

“You made an error in judgement.” Yuan says smartassly. “It was smart of you to choose someone who is suicidal as your accomplice, but here I am a year later, alive.”

“I made no error. You and I were successful in our mission tog—” Mori says his hands on the arm rest of the chair.

”The mission isn’t complete until those who were involved in the assassination are all silenced. To that end, I was a perfect accomplice. Even if I ended my life in a suicide of unknown motivation, after you became boss, thanks to my testimony. No one would suspect a thing.” Yuan chirps looking down at her concoction.

The raven haired looks straight at the pink haired. “You remind me of someone.”

That one gets Yuan’s attention.

“If I was going to silence you, I would have done it long ago. If you really want, I can prepare something that’ll end your life comfortably.”

“Really?!” Yuan utters excitedly.

Mori uses his hands index and his middle finger to open a cabinet, grabbing his pen and writing something down. “In exchange, I want to ask you to do a quick investigation. It’s not a big deal. There’s no danger involved.” Mori asks.

Yuan looks unimpressed, “Sounds sketchy.”

“I trust you know about Suribachi city in the Yokohama settlement. There’s a rumor going around that a certain individual has emerged in that area. I want you to investigate that rumor. This contract is a delegation of authority. It’s called the “Silver Message.” Show this to any Port Mafia member and they’ll do anything you ask of them.” Mori adds smugly.

The pink haired seeming bored asks, “A rumor about who exactly?”

“Take a guess.”

Yuan contemplates, “A rumor that’s harmful just by spreading….” She suddenly understands a light bulb switching on in her big brain. “I see. So that’s what going on. It’s the previous boss, isn’t it?”

Mori claps,”Precise, there are some humans who must never rise from the grave. I understand you know where I’m coming from.”

Yuan gets up lazily stretches somewhat like a cat and grabs the so called “Silver message”. “You promise to make me that drug?”

“This will be your first job. Welcome to the Port Mafia.

“Oh right.” Yuan drawls on. “Who’s this person I remind you of?”

Mori smirks, “Myself of course. Tell me Yuan, why is it you wish to die?”

“Let’s turn that question around, is there any value.. to this thing we call living.
