Summary
Adam, the First Man, was supposed to die.
He felt the angelic blade pierce his back. He felt Lute’s tears on his face. He felt ten thousand years of rage and grief finally go quiet as the darkness swallowed him whole. There was no Heaven waiting. No Hell. Just an end.
And then he woke up in a world of Quirks, Heroes, and Villains, with a golden halo still flickering above his head, wings he can’t fully retract, and a lingering divine power that has no place in a society of laws and limitations.
The Hero Public Safety Commission calls him an anomaly. The pros want to study him. The villains see a weapon. Adam just wants to find a way back — back to his Exorcists, back to his war, back to the only purpose he has left. But the longer he’s stuck in Musutafu, forced to interact with idealistic children who dream of being heroes, the more the mask he’s worn for millennia begins to crack.
Turns out even the Father of Humanity still has a few things to learn about what it means to be human. And maybe — just maybe — a tired, angry, ancient man can find something in this strange world that he lost in Eden: a reason to live.
