   Summary

   Jake stared at Rosa, who was watching the streetlights flicker below. Everything looked small from up here. The city was quiet, for once; for all the months he’s been in the academy, he’d just gotten used to the noise. People walked across the moonlit street, phone flashlights in hand. He wondered, for a second, what they were up to— if they felt the same buzzing in their head, if they were only outside because they couldn’t rest, either.
